We limped into Payson with a busted radiator. Even though they were quite busy, they got us in to replace our radiator and stayed late to make sure it was done right. Unfortunately, they also had to replace the hoses. So Scott came back on Sunday morning, even though they are closed, to replace the hoses and get us on our way. Our truck tows our 5th wheel and we are on our way to Amarillo TX by Sunday night. The manager, Justin, let us plug into their shop so we were able to run our fridge and spend the night in our trailer. We are very happy customers and definitely recommend Big O Tires in Payson. I'm a seasonal resident in Tonto Basin and my Eco-Diesel Ram 1500 needed an oil change and tire rotation. (I would be supplying the oil and filter.) After checking out Tonto Motor Works in Tonto Basin where the owner said he couldn't charge less than $80 since it would take an hour and a half of work, I opted to go with Big O Tires in Payson where they charged me $32.07 out the door for the labor on the oil change. No charge for rotating my tires, inspecting my truck or for adjusting the pitch on my truck hitch. Russell and Justin at Big O were great - very courteous and helpful. By the way, I have had different vehicles through the years serviced at different valley Big O's in AZ and have consistently received very good service and competitive pricing. read more

I HIGHLY recommend NOT taking your vehicle here. The mechanics are incredibly careless and placed our shocks on our vehicle improperly. This caused our vehicle to drive irregularly and caused damage to our tires. I've spoken with the district manager Mike, who believes bad shocks do not cause damage tires. Not sure why he is a district manager if he doesn't understand how shocks offset the weight of the vehicle. Go back to school buddy. They replaced our shocks though are refusing to take accountability for the front tires (even though they are brand new from Firestone). Go to discount tire! You will be taken care of! read more

We've always gone to discount tire for tires. Big o did a break job for us a couple of months ago so we decided to order winter all terrain tires from them instead of discount this time. We had just gotten street tires for summer 8 months ago. They were basically brand new because I work from home. We got a set of all terrains from big o for the winter so we could swap out both sets each year for the season. My husband picked up the car and when he got home I asked where our summer tires were. He said oh they must have forgotten but they were closed already so we called first thing at 7:30am the next morning. We called and asked them to hold the tires and we would go pick them up. Hours later we were told they didn't have the tires anymore. Wtf. They just cost us $1400. Discount tire has ALWAYS asked if we are keeping our tires and loaded them for us before. Big O in Payson just robbed us. We won't be giving them any more business. We have 5 vehicles and two trailers. We will be keeping them all with Discount tire going forward and won't be going back to Big O. read more

My family and I were on a camping trip when unfortunately we broke a cv joint. We got a tow to big o. They were very helpful and kind. The woman behind the counter even offered to give my wife and kids a ride to the park and splash pad. I think she took mercey on us when they my kids were getting restless. They were able to get the part from a local auto parts place and have the problem fixed. Very kind and thoughtful people here. Didn't try to upsell me or do anything other than fix the problem. The mechanic (Scott I beleive ) was a very nice guy. He knew right away what was wrong. Highly recommend them. read more

Terrible, rude service. Went in for a flat tire and possible battery issue as we had to jump it that morning. Took care of the tire reluctantly. Never mentioned what they found with the battery. When probed they said it was fine. Less than 24 hours later the battery is dead again and we're stuck 40 miles away from any services. It's now even more obvious that they never checked it and lied. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We broke down on a weekend camping trip coming to Payson. They were able to help us get the part for our truck and they let us park our camper in their parking lot and even supplied us with power and Wi-Fi.. they were able to replace all of our camper tires while we were there quickly and even stayed an hour late on a Saturday to get us up and going on the road again! read more

They are open Saturdays. They do NOT have a mechanic available on Saturdays, despite being listed as a full service shop. Staff seemed less than enthusiastic to be there. I needed new tires for my fifth wheel before I went on vacation. I called and Justin said he would get me in if I could drop it off. They were very busy. They were able to get me in and give four new tires at the very lowest price. Then I picked up a nail on vacation. I went to a BigO in Bakersville and they put a new tire on right away. I noticed it was the wrong ply tire. I stopped by Payson BigO and spoke to Justin and Leanne in my way back home They told me they would take the wrong tire off and put the right one on. It also was a busy booked Monday for them. They squeezed me in before they closed and installed the right tire for me at no extra cost. They went above and beyond for their customer. I bought my tires here a couple of years ago. this morning I had a flat, got my car to Big O where they repaired it and checked the others . they were efficient in replacing my spare into its place. the waiting area is well decorated, clean and complete with TV, coffee, donuts and very comfy chairs. there was no charge for me because I had purchased the tires there . a pleasant experience . They charged us for a bent axle on our ATV trailer that was too short for the frame. They claimed they also welded our leaf spring mounts in which time I got home and realized they were the same mounts and rusty. So while driving down the road, the mount broke, almost causing me to wreck, putting my family in harm. They charged us $1800 for this. They are LIARS and CROOKS. STAY AWAY from this place. I came in with a badly punctured tire. I got it in with the help of tire slime, but I was pretty sure that replacements were going to be a thing. Owning an AWD has its perks, but road hazards have a high price. Justin and his guys not only patched it, but had to deal with a full bottle of slime to get it (BTW, tire slime is an amazing investment for getting you to safety). I got these tires from a Big-O. The owner of this shop is very rude. We had a flat tire so took it here to get it fixed up. They took the tire off and because there was a small dent in the rim (which has been there for a few years, and the Big O in Mesa fixed our tires without a problem a month ago), they refused to put the tire back on the car. They insisted it was a "liability" for them to put it back on and would only put my spare on. I was on my way down to Mesa and was not comfortable driving 60+ miles with it. After arguing with the owner for quite some time I had to put the tire back on my myself and air it up myself too. Do not recommend this location if you are looking for quality service, or even to be treated like a decent human being. read more

It's without question, without doubt, easily and by far thee absolute WORST, I repeat utter garbage, most terrible business I've ever dealt with in my entire lifetime. I can't even stress it enough to you people just how bad of a place they are. We just needed the tires swapped out on a work truck, we had all four new tires in the bed all they were doing was switching them out right. I go to pick it up hours after it's done and when I get there, nobody knows where the truck is. 15 stupid minutes later an employee pulls in the shop in it with a polar pop and a dumb smile. I kid you not HALF the amount of gas was in the tank from when I dropped it off. A separate time they were working on my trucks rear axle, held it for literally 3 months; I called and called them and finally got ahold of that irritating desk woman, and nothing was accomplished. They initially quoted me for like $750, 3 months later they said "it'll cost 4,500 to fix it and it'll be another month or so. Also you now owe us 1,200 now for the work we've done thus far." Absolute BS these fools. Gave my truck back in worse condition then when I drove it there, it had to be towed home with a $1,200 bill for accomplishing nothing. F*ck these nimrods read more

I live up in Pine, AZ about 14 miles north of Payson. Needed to have 4 new tires that I already have, mounted and balanced and couldn't find anyone here in the area willing to do that unless I dropped my truck off and came back hours later or made an appointment days down the road. I called Big O Tire in Payson and talked to manager Leanne River. She said they were busy as usual but if I came in at 3PM they would get it done. This was on a Monday and we all know what Monday's are like. Everytime I drive by the Payson Big O Tire they are always packed and busy but I arrived at 3PM and and they were swamped but I was out by 4:15PM. Got a flat coming down form MNT ORD. I was able to limp my truck into there place after I plugged the hole.. "still leaking". I kindly asked if they would help me replug my tire so I could be on my way. They were nice enough to take a look at the damage and see if they could fix it. The knowledgeable shop guys pulled the tire off only to find out that the damage was not fixable. With 5 minutes before the closed. They slapped a slightly used tire on for a very good price! I'm a 70 year old disabled veteran! I went to Big O Tire in Payson to buy a set of all terrain tires for driving in mud and snow. The manager convinced me to buy Nitto crosstek 2s, he said they would be perfect for the area I live in, (Pine, Az). I went back to Big O after 1 month and told them that the tires did not perform in the mud and snow. They told me that I didn't know how to drive and refused to exchange or trade the tires for Nitto Grapplers! The management are liars and make a practice of misleading customers. After moving away from Payson, I recently had to use my spare tire that I purchased from Big O a few years ago. When I had purchased a nice set of big tires and rims there in 2005 from the store manager, I had also purchased a NEW spare tire that was compatible with the new tires. When the local tire dealer recently pulled my spare, they found that I had a very used tire that was dangerously bald and old. I was very fortunate not to have needed that spare tire until now. All I could think about was if I was out on a backroad or on a highway with a long way to go before the next town. I had an ATV tire on my Polaris Sportsman pop off the rim. I brought the tire to the Payson Big O and told the lady inside of my issue. She told me to go back to the entrance of the tire bay and tell one of the workers my issue. A new employee (just saying) was working on another tire and asked me if I needed help in which I told him. Basically the tire needed high pressure to "pop" the tire back on the rim. He began working on my tire but seemed to have problems about doing the pressure on the tire. His boss came over and took the tire and fixed the problem. I asked what I owed him and he said "no charge." I gave him a tip anyway. That what I call service. Will definitely think of Big O when I need tires for my car. read more

After some scary moments on 87 with brakes that were in trouble, I stopped by Big O. I had thoughts of Clark Griswold getting repairs on the road. I anticipated it going like this; How much is it for the repairs? Answer: How much you got? Luckily, Brian (the Manager) gave me a quote that was reasonable to replace my front rotors and pads. He also applied a discount to help me out and gave some thoughts about how long I had left on my tires (without trying to sell me any and knowing I was an out-of-towner). I'll be honest, best dang oil changed in town, and best tires. There are a lot of places in town that do oil changes, and do tire repair, but all of them are booked so far in advance, that by the time you actually get your car tires worked on, or you get an oil change, it's too late. We used to have an oil place in town named Jiffy Lube, but they went out of business two years ago, and Big O tires has done a good job of taking over. Also the customer service, is very personable, and you don't have to wait very long for your service. read more
