Worst customer service I've dealt with in a long time at the Walmart on Unser & Southern. Customers…read moreare basically FORCED to use self checkout because Walmart refuses to properly staff actual cashiers, then when an honest mistake happens, management suddenly acts like it's entirely the customer's fault. My daughter accidentally left two items behind at self checkout and went back like 20 minutes later, only to be told someone had already taken them. Instead of helping, manager Adele immediately hid behind "policy" -- except she couldn't even explain the policy correctly. When I tried looking for the policy on Walmart I couldn't find anything but I did some research on reddit, chatgpt and Google and all I could find is that it's up to management. What's funny is my husband had the SAME thing happen earlier this week at the SAME store, and they checked cameras and let him retrieve his items with no problem. So apparently the rules depend on which manager is having a power trip that day. Adele acted like replacing two items totalling about $20 from a billion-dollar corporation was going to personally bankrupt Walmart. The lack of common sense, consistency, and basic customer service was honestly pathetic. If Walmart is going to force people into self checkout to save money on employees, then maybe they should also accept that mistakes happen and stop treating honest customers like criminals over a couple forgotten items. Thank God we are able to dispute the charge and get our money back. I understand that customers should double check and make sure they took all of their items, But what made this situation worse was how unprofessional the manager Adele was during the interaction. While my daughter was trying to explain what happened, Adele was literally smiling and smirking at her like the whole situation was some kind of joke. My daughter was already upset and embarrassed, and instead of showing basic customer service or empathy, she acted dismissive and rude. Completely unhelpful, rude, and unprofessional management. Has anyone else experienced this before??

**Restaurant Review: A Taste of India, Farmington, New Mexico**…read more Walking into A Taste of India in Farmington, New Mexico, I was immediately struck by the warm and inviting ambiance of the restaurant. The rich aromas wafting through the air hinted at the delightful culinary experience that awaited me. As a walk-in customer, I was greeted promptly and seated without delay. After scanning the menu, I decided to try the Butter Chicken and Coconut Chicken, both served with fluffy rice. The Butter Chicken turned out to be a fantastic choice--its creamy tomato sauce coated the perfectly cooked chicken in the most delicious way. Each bite was a comforting blend of spices that left me wanting more. Equally impressive was the Coconut Chicken. The way the coconut milk melded with flavorful spices created a dish that felt both exotic and comforting. Paired with the rice, it was a satisfying combination that made my taste buds dance. I also couldn't resist ordering the Fresh Garlic Naan, which was freshly baked and had a wonderful garlicky aroma. It was the perfect complement to the rich sauces from the main dishes, making it hard to resist going back for more. My server, Sandy, was a highlight of the experience. He was friendly and attentive, helping me navigate the menu and customize my meal. His recommendations were spot on, and his enthusiasm for the food made my visit even more enjoyable. To my surprise, he treated me to some rice pudding for dessert. It was the ideal sweet ending--creamy and light, perfectly wrapping up my meal. Overall, A Taste of India exceeded my expectations. With its delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service, it's a gem worth visiting. I left with a satisfied palate and a desire to return soon for another delightful experience.

Even worse, management couldn't be bothered to come address it in the moment and instead doubled down afterward without hearing both sides. This also wasn't the first issue with that bartender, which makes it pretty clear nothing is being managed the way it should be. At a certain point, it's not a staff problem--it's a leadership problem. Plenty of better places in Rio Rancho that actually know how to treat people.

They are called 100 yen stores there. The prices all start at $1.75 and up. There are conversions charts all over for you to figure out the prices. Ok! I finally got in after an hour standing outside in the cold. I shopped for a 1/2 hour and then stood in line snaking through the aisles foe 2 1/2 hours to check out! Yes, it was an opening day 4 full hour adventure! Call me crazy. Got lots of Sanrio stuff, interesting food items, and kitchen gadgets. Would I do it again? Probably not, but I spent some time chatting with some wonderful people in line! Welcome Daiso to Albuquerque.

Daiso is one of the coolest stores to hit Albuquerque in a while…read more Though it can be compared to the Dollar Tree as far a pricing, etc., I'd say the quality is much better and the available choices much broader. They have a little of everything from home goods to hobby supplies to gardening items. Chopsticks of all kinds, even the long ones for cooking, are available, and if you want to make your plate and bowl sets interesting, they have a nice variety to choose from, as well as bento boxes, food containers, etc. If you're looking for sauces and flavorings to up your ramen game, they have that too, along with a selection of foods imported from Japan, including some of the best instant ramen bowls I've ever had. They even carry a drink that's hard to find here on the mainland, direct from Hawai'i, Hawaiian Sun sodas! Though I've never had to ask for help with anything, the staff I have encountered have been pleasant and ready if there is need. Overall, if I had to choose between the DT and Daiso, I'd rather go to Daiso. Unfortunately, there's only the one store in town, so I save it as a treat that it is.

This review is for a specific free event held at the Cottonwood Mall:…read moreTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 40th Anniversary Sunday, August 6, 2024 3 pm - 6 pm Mall foyer, lower level The purpose of the event was to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT). Per the event description, consumers were promised: the turtle Michaelangelo and Turtles would be present for a meet and greet, photo op, interactive games, and a special ninja performance. In reality, consumers got one turtle on a 11x14 stage with a simple backdrop of balloons. No music, no performance, no interactive games or activities and no other turtles. My family and I showed up at 2:50 pm, and were told by the event organizers that the event would begin at 3:30 pm. Well, there was already a long line of folks waiting in line hoping to get their photo op with the greatest TMNT. The line began at the lower level foyer (near escalators and elevators) and continued through the mall to the Mor Furniture Store. I estimated over 1200 people attended this event. I only identified three security guards, mind you, were inexperienced with handling a large crowd and could not maintain crowd control. At 3:30 pm, an imposter Donatello shows up and everyone cheers loudly and excitedly thinking the show was finally going to get started. Donatello began taking photos at the floor level with anyone and everyone that approached him. The families at the beginning of the line were confused, mad, and wondering why other people were getting priority when they had waited in line for at least 1.5 hours before showtime. A few minutes later, it became clear the show hadn't started, and rather, it was just another person wearing a Donatello suit and wanted to compart the joy and smiles throughout the mall with TMNT fans. At 3:50 pm, Michaelangelo finally jumps on stage. People swarm to the front of the stage for their photo op. At the same time, those in line were finally freed from their chains and let one family at a time to take their photo. Mind you, there was still no music. No other turtles, no other activities happening. Just a lonely Michaelangelo that appeared to have drank 30 Red Bulls taking photos with families one by one. My family and I got our photo from the front of stage, and left the area to go shopping with the intent of returning to the event in the hopes more of the promised activities and turtles would show. At 4:15 pm, we return but still there is nothing. Just more people moving through the sloth-like line waiting patiently to get their photo. I felt it necessary to express my extreme disappointment and the failure of the event on the Facebook event page, hosted by Cottonwood Mall in the hopes that the management and/or event coordinator's would take my feedback as a learned experience. Shortly after I posted my feedback, others followed suit. There were over 130 "reactions" on my post, and over 100 comments on my post. Everyone saying the same thing: poorly planned event; do better; my children left crying because the event ended 10 minutes early and they missed their photo opportunity with their favorite turtle; people reported waiting in line for over three hours! To say this event was a failure and complete disappointment is an understatement. However, listen to this - Whomever is responsible for Cottonwood Mall's social media account went to the event page and ERASED ALL the complaints and kept the positive comments!!! So, I am doing my due diligence and posting publicly on platforms that cannot be erased because the event planners and management of Cottonwood Mall need to be held accountable. I'll say it again as I did in my initial post: "Do better Cottonwood Mall!"

But finally, I stopped by Cottonwood Mall because I had an appointment to attend and was too lazy to drive back home. So, I figured I would just kill some time at a mall instead. The mall itself was ok. Frankly, it reminded me of how much time and habits of people had changed over the years. The mall didn't have too many people..it was more like a gathering of groups of people just so they could interact/hang out together...rather than a place to go buy/get something (e.g. shopping mall). I felt like more than half the shops inside the mall were either empty/closed or had no foot traffic. Most people seemed to congregate around food court, which had smaller ticket prices and people could sit/interact. I ended up sitting around the food court, and doing my things, too. Got my paleta from Paleta Bar....but beyond that..there wasn't really much to do. I accomplished my tasks of spending about a little over an hour there at a mall before my appointment...but...I wouldn't really think of going back there again to get something. I mean...to me...online shopping is king..save me all the time/hassle of driving..and I can pick/choose anything I want...get real/honest feedback/reviews from other people before making my purchases. What more not to like about online. So...all in all, nothing against Cottonwood Mall..it's just...that physical shopping stores don't really attract me so much anymore..unless the place has unique shops or offers unique experiences for me.
