Cost Plus is amazing! But it is also my danger zone! I just want to buy everything! It is the ultimate stop for gifts and decor! My latest obsession with them is the Torani sugar free coffee syrups! I'm on the Keto diet so I have to watch my carbs and I can make almost zero carb lattes at home thanks to these no carb syrups and Cost Plus carries the good flavors! Last week my husband picked up the SF Pumpkin Pie Spice so I could make my own Pumpkin Spice Latte and it tastes better than the one at Starbucks! Today I snagged the SF Smores flavor! YUM! I drove over a hundred miles for a store pickup at this location and called when I arrived as the emails say to do. The person seemed annoyed that I called and told me to just go up to the counter. I told her we wanted to shop in the store first and she said the bag would be ready when we got up there. I found an item in the store that I tried to buy online but it said it was sold out in the store. I found an older gentleman and asked if I could buy the item displayed as it appeared to be the only one in that color. He never stopped walking as he stated "pretty sure that one is all beaten up". We asked another worker and she helped us get it down to buy it. Then we got the counter to pick up our online purchase and the elderly cashier said she had to call for help. I told her I had already called about it and that it was ready for us on the counter. She said "somebody has to take it out of the system" Despite the fact that other world market's handle this way better I waited again for someone to come out to help us. When she did she started to look in the storage for our pick up and I said it was already on the counter and we just wanted to take it home now the woman became visibly agitated as if I was asking for something unreasonable and then asked for my i.d. with a nasty tone.I do store pick up all the time but never again at this location. Why is everyone here so unfriendly? If customers are an annoyance to you it's time to learn to fake it or change careers. It's rare that people in Albuquerque are less friendly than those in Santa Fe, but this day showed us that rude people are everywhere. It is the first time in 30 plus years of shopping at Cost Plus that I had that happen though! read more

I wish the store is in a different location in town, maybe the spot where Hobby Lobby is off Wyoming and Montgomery, for example. Though I love the fact of how many varieties of goods they carry, I'm not sure about the freshness of the food items, especially snacks. It's relaxing to browse through the store and fun to look at all the tea and coffee selections they have. I also bought wines from here, too. Hope they get good amount of traffic where it is located now. read more

I'm officially the president of the CostPlus World Market fan club. You know why? I bought a dining table, the Soorav, there in 2003. I think it cost me $350. That thing was solid wood, 7 1/2 feet long, and wore like iron. I finally replaced it last year because I got tired of looking at it and now it's at the in-laws house, looking like the day I brought I home. All their wood case goods are that way... They wear forever and a day and although they're more expensive a decade later, they're still a much better value than Pottery Barn or any other furniture joint. I can't say the same about their upholstered pieces... They use weird, cheap foam, so only buy if it won't get much use. But the rest of their furniture will go the duration. Their decorative pieces are also cute and well-priced when on sale. Their kitchen and dining pieces and china are awesome... They riff off of anthropologist and PB and Crate and Barrel so you can try some out of the box decor without breaking the bank. And their food... Ah, their food. Yum. I always seem to come out with a new foreign delicacy and a cold soda. The service is on point. Love the manager... He's been there forever and he recognizes me and always says hi. The staff is laid back and very knowledgable if you have questions. Just love them. read more

They have agreat wine selection, women's clothing, jewelry, and imported foods as well. If you haven't tried hagelslag(Dutch chocolate sprinkles to put on bread), give it a try. When we look for unique items to make for dinner or just to try something from another country we always enjoy a trip around the World "Market". For years I have been a fan so there is no reason now not to be. The only thing I did not like is when they stopped carrying a lot of local items. I love Cost Plus. It's such an interesting blend of stuff. Furniture. Dishes and glasses. Kitchen gadgets. Gourmet foods. Coffee. And a wide selections of beers and wines. Some rather hard to find, in fact. The store can feel a little eclectic, chaotic even, but it all makes sense once you walk around a bit. The staff are always happy to help, but never troublesome. The prices are maybe a bit on the high side, especially for the furnishings, but generally not bad. This is definitely one of my go-to shops. read more

Your cheap, unnecessary holiday crap is the best cheap, unnecessary holiday crap of all, hands down. When I recently asked one of your managers to discount a damaged tree oranament, he told me I could have it. Granted, he wouldn't look up and into my eyes when he said it, but it was a kind gesture just the same. Hung a certain way, you can't even see the broken bit on the back of the ornament. You would be surprised to know what treasures you can discover in the dumpster behind World Market. I had an uncle who was an expert dumpster-diver, and with a bit of ingenuity and a few minor repairs, he could take the discarded items from a World Market dumpster and turn them into beautiful gifts for the family. read more

What a fun place to be. I am not a big fan of shopping but I enjoyed going to this place and walk around . They have a variety of collections from different places, hence the name. They carry these Hawaiian chips that we have been looking for everywhere since we moved to NM from CA. Their wine collection probably is not the greatest given the name of the place, i was expecting more than just what they have. But they do have a worker, this of-aged worker name Maggie knows a lot about wines and she recommended a few sparkling and ice-wines that we thoroughly enjoyed. She knew where they came from and how should they be served. She is a keeper for sure. read more

They stock a strange assortment of furniture, housewares, and foods from around the world. I only give it three stars because the candy selection is killer. Heather-the assistant manager here-is fantastic! She ordered 8 chairs for me during a sale and then held them for over a month until I arrived in town to pick them up. When I arrived at the store, she was waiting at the front counter with an excited smile, telling me there was an additional 30% off sale on everything in the store! I walked out with 6 dining room chairs, 6 sets of towels, 4-5 other kitchen gadgets for $350!! I saved around $500!! Then she proceeded to load the chairs in my truck! What a disappointment. I ordered what I wanted online for in-store pick up!!! My favorite way to shop, beside Amazon. I hate going to the store with what I want and the items not being there. Also the items were at great prices. The big plus everything I wanted was in stock!!! Or so I thought. With confidence I placed the order. Got my confirmation emails on both orders. I made sure to take note of the email stating that when my order was picked and ready I would get an email saying when to pick it up. Fair enough. I usually wait a couple of hours for the pickup email. Well 5 days went by and I still had not heard anything about my order. Out of curiosity I called the store and inquired about my order. I was placed on hold for 15 minutes. They guy came back to the phone and said my order was ready. I assumed it was both orders, but did not think to ASK again about my orders. I guess I should have. The next day I visited the store to pick up my orders. One was there the other is still in the Twilight Zone some where. No one has told me what really happened to the order, other than it must not have processed. Strange explanation. Usually orders that are not processed don't get an order confirmation and assigned a number. Anyway after almost a week of placing my order and it being in stock I was told the item was not available. They were more than happy with their answer and wanted to send me on my way. Not the way I work. I returned the order that was there and quickly wrote a note to customer service on the email I had gotten. This is how I found out that the company I was emailing was just a middle man for World Market. This is so sad. I really liked shopping at World Market. But we are parting ways and I will find a local owned store to buy from. If you are thinking about shopping online from WM don't do it. The website that you order from online has NOTHING to do with the store. They just act like a middle man. Not the way to do business! read more

I attempted a Happy Return (drop off from Rothy's shoes online purchase). I was left waiting over 10 minutes after making my other purchases. NO ONE SHOWED UP TO HELP ME. I encourage all Happy Returns to be via shipping, not drop off at this location. Shut it down. I am also so upset that I will not shop at this store again and will encourage my friends and family to do so as well. Already canceled my World Market text connection. If you go on Wednesdays, you can get double points on bags of coffee and if you are a member of their Explorer club, you earn free bags of coffee. Usually it is 6 bags of coffee to get a free bag, but on Wednesdays, I can buy 3 bags and get an email that I have a free bag coming to me. Very occasionally, there is a sale on coffee as well and the savings stack up. read more

You can't go wrong at the World Market. This is such a great store to go look around in, but typically looking turns into buying but that's okay... You have to live a little and try new things. I am typically not a coffee person, but they have wonderful coffees (which you can always get samples of). They also have a really great selection of teas. At least twice a year, they will offer their teas buy one get one free, and that is the best time to stock up! They have a great wine selection and really cool snacks, food, toys, and home-goods. They have an INCREDIBLE candy selection and an international wine/beer selection. If you like to purchase stocking stuffers for Xmas - this is your one-stop-shop. I'm a big fan of Cost Plus stores as a general statement but have been frustrated by this one on more than one occasion. Most recently I got a raincheck on a piece of furniture and was told it would be in stock in a few weeks. I was quite surprised to get a message on my phone stating it came in a few days later. When I drove over to the store, however, no one could find the piece anywhere in the store. I was told it was either not in yet or had been sold. Seems like some poor communication going on there. read more

I went here looking for a kitchen gadget - a sushi-making kit, for a Yule gift. While they had everything I could want for serving the stuff, they had nothin' for making it. Okay - shops won't always have what I want, so that really loses them no stars. They had a bunch of stuff that I didn't want, some other goodies that I did buy, and a few things I yearned toward, but restrained myself. Getting help was a bit of a challenge - every staff member I ran into for the first 20 minutes was obviously busy doing other stuff - but this was Xmas shopping season, and to be expected. When I finally cornered a couple of the staff to ask about my goal, they were remarkably helpful and pleasant - and when they couldn't sell me what I wanted, they were happy to point me to a shop that did sell what I wanted. They lose a star on layout, and how cramped the aisles are, which would be (I assume) less of an issue outside of shopping hell month. That said, they have a really good assortment of goods, and every staff member I dealt with was cheerful, helpful, and knowledgeable. I've got a pretty well setup kitchen for myself already - but I'll be back, even if some of their prices strike me as being a tad high. read more
