30 + years of good food and service ended, ive never received the level of disrespect I did tonight. Even after the employee admitted he had made the mistake, the manager/owner yelled at me and then hung up on me. All I was trying to do was tell them they messed up my order, AFTER a call back to make sure the order was right. Wasn't even asking for reimbursement, will never be ordering from there again and I will be sure to tell everyone I know about how they treat regular customers who are just trying to let them know big mistakes are being made. read more

Just finished a 9" supreme, extra crispy, and it was DELICIOUS! Thin flacky crust, not too much sauce and quality toppings. You know what's terrible? How about living as a kid in Chicago around the best pizza in the world, but then moving to Michigan where it seems like the only slice of pie people eat is...gag...Pizza Hut? I mean, come on, people! There has to be something else in the White Lake area besides frozen pizza and the Hut! Well, ok, there ARE other places, but let's face it - they're not exactly what anyone would call gourmet, amirite? Well, thanks to Big John's, I actually have a reason to miss the ol' Whitehall food scene! This was, literally, the only place I could go to in the entire state of Michigan for my pizza fix. Seriously, if they had a Big John's here in Oregon, I think I would have absolutely zero reasons to leave the Portland-Metro area! This is pizza at its best - generous toppings, really generous and genuine cheese, a tasty crust and a sauce that come out with a zest that is noticibly absent from any of the other joints around town. The seating is also pretty good, though the parking is a nightmare! I recommend parking in the park downhill and huffing it to the top - it's definitely worth it! Once you've had good pizza, it really is impossible to go back, so tread lightly - you may never be satisfied with any other kind of 'za around! -1 star for a lack of a true deep-dish, but otherwise this is as good as it gets, MIchigan! read more

Read all the reviews on here before we decided to order delivery to our hotel. Very disappointed. 1. Cheese pizza-literally no flavor whatsoever. The crust was wafer thin (which I like from time to time) but was so incredibly bland. The sauce was virtually missing and what was able to be found was tasteless as was the cheese. 2. Supreme pizza-The first thing I saw when I opened the box was canned mushrooms. I'm sorry, there is no excuse for that. The green peppers had very obviously been cooked before they were put on the pie and were dull colored and mushy. Almost no sauce. Just an "Eh..." kinda pizza. 3. Salad was ok. Nothing special but at least I was happy to see it wasn't made with iceberg...greens were romaine. 4. Loaded baked potato soup-It was ok. Nothing special. Overall, I wouldn't eat here again. On top of that, our 30-45 min. wait that we were quoted on the phone was a tad over an hour. Not good for 2 very hungry little girls. read more

Big Johns Pizza is my standard that I measure all pizza by. It's truly the gold standard in my book. I get a large supreme and add bacon and onion and it's amazing. My only complaint is that they would use fresh green pepper...I think they use frozen. Also fresh mushrooms rather than canned would take this pizza to an unbeatable standard. I would gladly pay an extra couple bucks for the fresh vegies. All in all Big Johns is my favorite pizza and I highly recommend it. Wish they had a GR location. read more

The pizza recipe has gone back to the original scribbs recipe. Once you've experienced their pizza you will want more...they have thin crust and good grade food items for their pizzas and their monster sub (pizza sub) is ooy gooy goodness for those that dont care for thin crust get a sub....so good...the other items on their menu is just as good...a sure delight for meals or snack read more

This is some of the best pizza! My family went there during the beginning of our vacation in town and we loved it so much we came back later in the week! The crust is on the thin side, crispy but not too much. The restaurant is tiny, so have it delivered or pick it up. read more

Long time customer. That may end soon, however, because they are skimping on toppings, especially cheese. Often lately I order extra cheese just to get a normal amount, but even then it is less than before. This pizza is already priced higher than most. Trying to gain more profit by providing less product is not the way to go. This is my favorite pizza. Please don't take that away. read more

This pizza place has gone way down hill with the new owners. I would not recommend going here for good pizza. It has no flavor in the crust and the sauce is very spicy. We received cold pizza with soggy crust that looked overcooked and just sat out on a counter. The new owners don't know what they're doing and the customer service is a joke. Pizza is good - Very flavorful and good crust. I always order mine with bacon and black olives and they are very generous with the toppings. We usually get this delivered to Fetch Brewing just down the street. (Which is why I gave them 4 stars - anyplace that will deliver to our favorite hangout plus has good food is our idea of a great place). We have ordered their subs and garlic bread - which are average at best. Definitely get the pizza! read more

The pizza was ok at best. The bread sticks had a lot of cheese but were small over all prices seemed a little high for what you got.

This pie is worse than most frozen pizzas found in grocery chains. We vacationed there from AZ and now feel sorry that the good people of Whitehall have to endure this stuff. The dough did not have the right balance of yeast, the cheese was low quality faux mozzarella and the top was burnt. We had carryout from here while staying at the Weathervane Inn. Very good pizza with a thin, flakey crust. About $15 for a 12".

We had large (thin crust) party cut pizza. It was similar to chicago thin-crust style. The pizzas had a generous amount of toppings and the sauce was great. It was perfectly cooked with a nice golden brown cheese, and not undercooked like some places (one of my pet peeves). I would definitely order from here again if we come back! read more

We ordered delivery to a local hotel during The Game. Delivery was ahead of the promised time, and to the door of our room! Big Johns pizza does need help, the phone service is bad when calling about a issue i had with the food i was rudely told that the manager was delivering food and would not be back for 30 min, when i asked to leave a message for the manager i was told to just call back and the phone went dead. my pizza was delivered burned and the poppers were hard stuck together and still cold, nothing was able to be eaten so it had to go in the garbage and dinner purchased from Wesco, so just to cap bad food, bad customer service and no recourse to remedy the problem. read more

Tonight was the first time in about a year since we had gone there. We called in an order for takeout. The pizza was just OK, not near the amount of toppings that we used to get. The fried mushrooms and poppers were Ehh, especially for the price. The salad was way overpriced. We used to Love Big John's but now it's mediocre. All I can tell you is this is the best pizza in the world next to Scribs. Thin crust pizza is my favorite and Big John's delivers. I don't even know why there are any decent reviews. The crust is hard to describe. It was like a hybrid of saltine crackers and a pizza crust trending toward the cracker. Thin and tasteless. In the bottom three of any pizza I have had anywhere. If count in value this one is the worst by a huge margin. $40 dollars for two larges. Would have rather drove 50 miles to the nearest Little Caesars for two Hot and Ready's which I would only get if I had kids visiting. read more

They screwed up our takeout order, the topping and cheese we so thin that you could see the crust thru the sauce that looked like it painted on with a brush. We have been going there for years, and it used to be a great place. The pizza they gave us was wrong, it was thin as a cracker, lacking toppings and so dry it was almost in-etabile. I went back in and told the girl behind the counter that the pizza was not right nor what I ordered. Her comment as she closed the lid and pushed it back to me was "I didn't take the order so it's yours!" Nice customer service! The place was sold in spring of 2016 and it has gone way down hill! use to be the best place to get pizza, but not anymore. the last 2 times we got pizza there,. there was no flavor and it was baked to the point of just being burnt then in the last couple weeks we have called to have delivery, one time was 8 the other 8:30 and was told they were done delivering for the night, they don't close till 10. Did ownership change?? There appears to be some recent negative reviews. Twice I ordered "sandwich" and received sub. Decided to call this time & was told there is no difference except toppings (?). My 'sandwich" was also burned black on both sides of bun and black melted cheese. (wish I could post pic here) Manager was SO RUDE!!! She said it wasn't burned & hung up on me. I didn't even have a chance to mention the sandwich/sub was toasted with the lettuce in it.(Yuk!) Her response was totally uncalled for, as I was in no way disrespectful. Called back & asked to talk to the owner & was hung up on again. There definitely is a need there for customer service education. We have been regular customers for years and never had problems or service like this. We obviously won't be doing business there again - it's unfortunate. read more
