Visited here with a large group and they were extremely accommodating. They have a large dining area with plenty of tables and seating. Everything was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. We purchased multiple pizzas as a group and did our own little buffet set up. The pizza was amazing. Every kind we tried was delicious. I especially loved the thin yet crispy crust. Amazing pizza and Cheesy Garlic Bread. I love their Marinara sauce and the crunch, crackery, crust is my favorite on the pizza. It was so hard not to finish the whole pie in one sitting. They have lunch specials 7 days a week also so be sure to check those out. read more

Tomato paste for sauce, zero flavor hits IMO. Crust is so thin is pointless! Not impressed. You expect a mom and pops pizza joint to be above chain pizza but just about every chain pizza is better than this. Don't waste your money on this. Disappointing. We paid $80 for 3 pizzas that were just ok and did not look at all like the pictures on the website. The picture for all meat and supreme that we ordered where round thick crust cut into pie sized pieces. What we got was round flatbread cut into squares pieces. The toppings were also skimpy. read more

Closing soon as they sold their location to the City. Unfortunately the new location is not viable. And they are trying to sell the name and recipes only. Not sure that is going to work out for them. Their pizzas are pretty expensive. read more

Square cut, just okay pizza and flavorless wings. The service was good and the pizza was fresh and hot. The chicken wings tasted like old grease so I guess that's a flavor. ‍ It's an average pizza joint and they have square cut pizza if that's your thing. I wondered when I picked it up, it was very light. That should have been a clue something was wrong. I paid over $ 26 bucks for crap pizza. Wow! I totally enjoyed my pizza! I loved the thin crust. I don't like thick crust. It seems you lose a lot of the flavor of the toppings. I ordered the Supreme. The spices were great. I tasted fennel which I love. Don't know if it was in the sausage or the sauce? As I ordered the 9" I was disappointed I didn't order a larger pizza. Would have enjoyed some leftovers tomorrow! This is my very favorite pizza in the entire world! The crust is the perfect thinness. The toppings are fresh and yummy! The people who work here are absolutely lovely. I ordered delivery and had to run an errand ... I left a note on the door to please leave the pizza inside. When I got home there was a sweet note on my door saying that they left it on my counter. One of my local favorites. Whitehall doesn't have a lot of food choices, and many restaurants come and go that is why it is important to note that Big John's has been in business for well over 50 years. All my family loves the thin crust pizza. However, for me it is not really my thing! That is why I love the fact they have so many appetizers, and other meal options! I highly recommend the fried portobello mushrooms! Everyone is happy when we order from Big John's. Not to mention: when you pick up your pizza Christian music is playing in the background. A local pizza place that has been a staple to the community for several years. Good pizza and subs + a variety of appetizers to choose from. This is always our stop for pizza when we come to the Whitehall / Montague area. They make a great pizza and it's even better because they're near Fetch Brewery. We can order our pizza and eat it at Fetch. We usually go for the veggie pizza and maybe a side. The crust and sauce are always good. Really loved this place ! Being from Chicago it's not easy to find a good slice of pizza when your out of state sometimes. Had a great family friendly atmosphere, and the owners were super friendly and polite. Being born and raised on the East coast I know good pizza! Thin crust is the only kind we had. Big John's is the closest to and the best I've had in Michigan. We came from Muskegon to try and will be back alot. In addition, the only place that cuts a pizza correctly.... wedges. The wings were outstanding also. read more
