Chefs kiss 10/10!!! My man grew up close to here so while traveling, we went to a few of his childhood places and this place was absolutely delicious!! The sauce and the melty cheese just combined so well!!! On half of the pizza, we got sausage and pepperoni and i have never had ground sausage on a pizza that was melted under the cheese... WOW!!! Delicious!!! That brick oven flavor with the crunchy crust... man o man!!! I hope he wants to take another drip down memory lane soon just so I can have another slice. Best pizza u can get as-well the many toppings can have in one and choice also the place is quite and clam as well the pizza is cooked and done in-font of u! I am kind of late writing this, but here it is. The pizza was great. An old school style, I haven't had in more than just a while. The crust was nice and crispy. The pepperoni was placed on the pizza after it was done cooking, so it steams with the heat of the pizza. We ordered the party tray pizza. I am not knocking the pineapple and sausage half that we got, but next time we will order a whole pepperoni because we really enjoyed the uniqueness and taste of the pepperoni pizza. There is not a big sitting area, but there are some tables if you want to sit down at the restaurant. Also, the staff was excellent . We will be back for sure. If there are some nice places in the city to sit down with the family and eat the pizza, please let me know. We like eating outside. read more

Big Johns pizza does one thing and one thing only...pizza...and they have been there since 1969 doing just that one thing. That has to say a lot! I ALWAYS get a Party Tray! It last almost an entire weekend at my house. Also, try ordering "double thick" on their regular pizza..makes it like a deep dish sorta. The sauce is like no other, sweet and tangy. I always get bacon and/or pepperoni. The bacon is under the cheese (which surprised a vegetarian friend who wanted a cheese slice). The pepperoni goes on after the pizza come out of the oven. I know it's not the popular opinion, but I find Big John's to be a greasy mess. Taste is okay, but I really just don't get the hype.

Was really good except there's a learning curve. Cheese isn't the first topping unless you're getting only cheese or pepperoni (which is added after coming) so with multiple toppings I ended up not having enough cheese. Now I know and next time I'll order extra cheese. read more

We had a large round pie with pepperoni. cheese is provisioned generously, and the crust is a thicker, chewier version than you usually find in southern New Jersey. It was really, really good. Only the best pizza in all of Bridgeton! I've had a love affair with this pizza since I was a little kid running around downtown Bridgeton. The pizza is still the same and is venture to say better! I don't I know why people go so crazy over this place. The pizza is always bland it looks like somebody threw the box against the wall before they gave it to you ,very sloppy. Big John's. Where do I start? When I was a child living in Bridgeton, this was pizza to me. I had no idea that this was as good as it gets. At 39 I have lived all over South Jersey. I've had the rest, I've had Gaetano's and Cinconte's which are probably some of the best traditional pizza around. I have had Papa Luigi's which is, again, the traditional style, that you find in South Jersey. They're all good pizzas. Just fine and dandy, you know... for a lunch slice, for a quick dinner. Maybe just for sitting down and eating. But when PIZZA is needed, you know, PIZZA for the sake of PIZZA? There is only one thing you can do. You have to drive your ass to Bridgeton. You have to hit the ATM. You have to walk up the slope into entrance this revered kitchen. And you order up. Small, Med, Large or Party Tray - the toppings are up above. Sausage is grounded up - a little off-putting for some, so be wary... But MY GOD!!! This is PIZZA. Sweet sauce, real mozzarella, pepperoni - raw on the pie, and all the best ingredients. Simply the best in Bridgeton! Pizza usually is always on point. Can be frustrating when they don't answer the phone on purpose though. At least place the customer on hold or something. It would be appreciated if they accepted something other than cash especially in the shady area they are located. Lastly be prepared to experience the parking from hell! My wifes family orders from big johns all the time. Unfortunately their pizza is the worst pizza I've ever had the misfortune of eating. First off it looks like someone dumped your pizza upside down in the box, then dropped it on the floor before you got there it's so messy. Second, it's always soggy, the pizza always falls apart and slides off the crust. Third, it just tastes awful, I would rather buy a frozen pizza and have that for dinner then order from this place. When I go to a function and they order big johns I wait to get home to eat . It also gives me the shits if I do eat it. If it was possible to give a place zero stars, I most certainly would exercise my right to do so on this review. read more
