The true cheesesteak connoisseur always has a favorite little joint that simply crushes a lousy tourist trap like Gino's or Pat's. If you want my two cents, the best cheesesteak is from Hopewell Sub & Pizza in Bridgeton, New Jersey. It's a roadside gem off Rt. 49 in a South Jersey town that I zip through on the way to the shore. I can't vouch for their pizza or other food, because I always get the cheesesteak. They come in half or whole (approx. 10 inches vs. 20 inches). They make them the way I like them: Perfect chewy Italian roll (locally baked I'm guessing), stuffed with quality chopped steak and ample melted cheese. They do American cheese by default, which I prefer. The inside is nothing fancy, but there are booths with table service and couple of TVs. It's kept very clean, including the bathrooms, and the employees work fast and seem nice enough.

Well I'm not going to eat fries and 20 wings that have been sitting for 40 minutes so I told them I want an all new order of fries and 30 wings. The owner said that they wouldn't do it because "they just can't throw out 20 perfectly good wings" . So I got my money back and will never order from here again. And if multiple customers are calling because of the change, maybe acknowledge the mistake and apologize instead of blaming the customer. I've never had to specifically request cheese on a cheesesteak before. Very disappointing customer service, especially when the restaurant could've easily handled this much better.

You will love their pizza because I eat A LOT of pizza and there is now room in my heart (and stomach) for yet another delicious pizza place. I grew up in this area; I have driven past Filippo's a million times and never stopped. The reason for this: I am an idiot. I have missed out on eating so many great pizzas from this place. Sorry! I will never forsake you again, Filippo's! Once pizza goes in the box, it is never the same. To combat this, we call ahead and order our pizza for eat-in. Smart right? So nice to sit down and enjoy a hot pizza right out of the oven. Check out their menu online or better yet: just go there and look at what they offer. They have pizza any way you want it plus a lot of gourmet specialty pies. I don't know who thought of all of them but they are pizza-angels and I am grateful. Naturally, they have other things on the menu besides pizza. I would like to try everything, please. The folks who take your order either in person or on the phone are very pleasant. When we dine-in, the server is always friendly and the service across the board is prompt. Don't be foolish like I was - go patronize this local pizzeria as soon as possible.

So, I YELPED through the Glassboro reviews while also taking into consideration of my location and Filippo's was the answer. They have a nice big parking lot and a very small dining area that I wouldn't really recommend choosing for a dinner night out on the town. I didn't glance at the menu ... I was in a rush so I looked at the pizza's in the window pointing to one then another. Yes, I would like the pepperoni. The young lady was very pleasant ... told me it would just be a minute or two (Nice service but I have had pizza before and already knew it wouldn't take long. (See why I was here in the review.)). The price was VERY CONSUMER FRIENDLY!!! I was very happy. Now the one slice was CHICKEN BARBECUE ... it tasted sort of funny. Not very chickeny and the BBQ sauce well ... if lived in the area I wouldn't order it ever again. It's actually impossible to describe the other slice that supposedly had pepperoni on it. It tasted better than the Chicken BBQ ... a nice cheesy texture but the pepperoni melted away there was no texture to the meat but I tasted it. I think I liked it ... if you know that feeling when you eat something that you can't identify and the basil and colors had eye appeal. So points for the service including the speed of getting me in and out. Points for the price that really made me smile. But I came for the pizza ... for my dinner ... in the car type of dinner ... and well ... nah, I won't go back if I am in Glassboro again without enough time for a sit down meal and wanting to eat something quick that is not fast food and I think pizza ... I'll go somewhere else.
