Typical convenience store layout, a bit dark, a bit chaotic with merchandise everywhere, and a small grill area just off the cash register area. 5 or 6 people standing around the counter area waiting for there food, mostly blue collards, but one suit was there. Ordered my 2 dogs with M, C, & O, and it only took a couple of minutes. Dogs were the expected small, red wiener kind, and the bun was steamed and a little "wrinkled", but everything was fresh tasting, and the chili was very nice, made the dog. Not much to look at here, but the dogs are worth a drive by. They have a small amount of outside seating, but this is pretty much a take away kind of place.

They offer burgers, hot dogs, chicken salad, a variety of sandwiches, a few breakfast biscuits, and for something completely different, Hibachi - steak, shrimp, chicken or veggie. I stopped in to grab a couple of $1.49 hot dogs and some FFs ($1.39). The hot dogs are pretty good, but I'd lose the slaw next time, too sweet, dominates the flavor. The FFs were surprisingly good, very good. Not a bad place to grab a quick lunch or snack. There is a fair amount of inside seating, and a bit on the outside. Service is quickly, if not especially friendly.

I've had the fried chicken here and it is quite good, much like the Krispy Krunchy brand. But today I just wanted a hot dog and a cheeseburger. The burger is cooked to order so it took 10 minutes or so to get my order. The hot dog, with mustard, chili, and onion was very nice, not quite at the level of the very best in the area, but for $2.69 this is a real value, most in the area are between $3 and 4$! The cheeseburger was also nice, and at $6.90 it is not a real value, especially when compared with the Wakeburger which has double the cheese and meat for $1 more - didn't see this until later! Ambiance - 1 Food - 4 Service 3.5 Value - 4

Or at least the burgers are because that's the only thing I've had.

Second, I did try their fried chicken finally a while back, and it was decent - though not world changing (3 stars for the chicken). Third - and the reason I'm giving them 4 stars - is their Dubai bar. I've had Dubai bars from a fair number of places in multiple states by now, and this is easily the best one I've had! And I've had it several times now! The price for the size of it is very decent at $12.50, and as you can see it is large, just like my banana! :) And the pistachio crème in that cross section is generously filled and delicious! It is melty and gooey and just a terrific treat! When I think Dubai bar and what a standard chocolate bar with pistachio crème ought to be, this is it. Inside of the store is still trashy though. But I'm happy to run in, buy a Dubai bar, and get out.

Both the chicken and wedges are hand battered and seasoned well. Definitely check them out. Don't let the appearance of the building sway you. It is the best chicken ever. Give their fried okra and chicken nuggets a try as well.

As soon as I got home, I marinated the pork chops from the Meat Box along with a pound of the shrimp and threw everything on the grill. Needless to say, it made for an incredible Saturday. The pork chops were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly tender, and the shrimp were an absolute hit with my family. We'll definitely be back.
