What a nice addition Sheetz has been to the intersection of Westchester and Lexington, catty-corner…read moreto Smitty's 1 Stop. This Sheetz location, currently one of three in High Point, opened in 2014. Something like this has been needed at this corner for years after the closure and demolition of two old gas stations and convenience stores that came before it: a BP and what eventually devolved into a "Fast & Easy Mart" (IIRC, it was an Iloco Mart at one point). Sheetz now sits on top of the land that previously belonged to both, so that gives you an idea of its size. This place reminds me of the QuikTrips we have down in Georgia (particularly the newer QTs). These are simply nice gas stations and convenience stores that are new, clean, have inexpensive fuel, and offer above average food, drink, service, and even ambiance. The store is open 24/7, has both indoor and outdoor (umbrella-covered) seating, free Wi-Fi, and supports online ordering. There are 10 gas pumps at this station. I had a Sheetz Made-To-Go Cuban Sandwich ($4.99) and Shweetz Bakery-To-Go Gourmet Oatmeal Craisins Cookie from the store and was impressed with the food quality. The Cuban sandwich looked like a moderately sized sandwich, but it was actually quite heavy and dense. It was made with both shredded ham and beef, Swiss cheese, pickles, dijon mustard, and mayo on white ciabatta bread. This was a pre-made, pre-wrapped, refrigerated, grab-and-go sandwich. For this kind of sammie, it was surprisingly delicious and filling and it proved to be more than an adequate as an on-the-go lunch during a round of golf. I was satisfied eating just half of it and came to find out, after reading the Nutrition Facts, that the serving size is half a sandwich at 300 calories. The 3.6-ounce Oatmeal Craisins Cookie was pretty tasty too. It clocks in at 480 calories. The cookie was made with craisins by Ocean Spray. Sheetz has a gimmick where it spells certain items to look like the company name. For example, sandwichez, subz, chicken stripz and chicken shwingz. :: rolls eyes :: Service is good. You can order food and drink using a touchscreen. I believe you can rent movies here as well -- Red Box, I think -- which one could consider a spiritual successor to the old Action Video that used to exist here in the 80s (and perhaps into the early 90s). Does anyone in High Point remember ACTION VIDEO?!

Both corporate and the franchise owner should be embarrassed by how poorly run this location is. Since opening, they have never once stocked the gas pumps with printer paper, so you have to go in to get a receipt. When you go in, the employees have a terrible attitude, and act as if you're asking the world of them to print a receipt. On my last visit, the cashier actually asked "why you need a receipt?"....NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! This place honestly needs to be shut down.

First, the employees are rude and act as if you are asking them to move a mountain by ordering something they have to make. Was told tonight "I'm not gonna make a whole cheese pizza just to sell you 2 slices." Secondly, ever since the ownership change, they have stopped putting the tags on the hot food that show when it was made. I asked them one day how old the pepperoni pizza was and they said "oh, we just made that 30 minutes ago" but it had clearly been sitting there most of the day. 7-11's policy is that hot food can't sit in the warmer for more than 2 hours, clearly the new owner doesn't want you to know how long it's been there, they just want you to eat it. I refuse to eat anything from their warmer because it's most likely old, and it is not held at the proper temperature. Hopefully the county comes in and shuts them down (again) and they get their act together.

I got 3 prime drinks and 2 snacks (honey bun and fudge round). I had an app discount where my 3rd prime drink was free. The store had a deal where the snacks were 2/$4. I utilized one of the self check out machines. The store wasn't busy inside and it was clean. No issues or complaints with this visit.

WARNING FOR WOMEN/PARENTS IN GREENSBORO…read more Please be careful around the Sheetz on Wendover 4319 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27407 Avenue and the TJ Maxx parking lot area. 4217 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27407 Today I experienced what I believe was a coordinated distraction scam involving multiple men and a women At Sheetz One woman approached me asking to use my phone to call for emergency/tow services while another distracted me during the interaction. While my attention was divided, unauthorized money was sent from my phone through my banking app/Zelle. The scam also involved a "Three Card Monte" style game where they encourage you to pick a card and claim they will double your money if you guess correctly. I did not participate in the game or allow them to give money to my child. After everything happened, I was informed this reportedly occurred multiple times today at Sheetz.Approaching women with children to play. Giving the children dollars What was especially alarming is that after the incident at Sheetz, the same group appeared to move to the TJ Maxx parking lot area and continued targeting other women. While there, another woman came up screaming and stated they had stolen $1,800 from her the week before. One individual was a Black male with dreads wearing multiple chains/jewelry. Another was a light-skinned male wearing a yellow worker-style safety vest. There was also a Caucasian male wearing blue shorts. Female Mexican skinny dark hair . They were seen leaving in a black sedan and a white van with the license plate WAH-- 1753 or 1810 The phone numbers used during the interaction were 336-925-3422 and 336-471-2370. They also appeared to spread themselves throughout the gas station near pumps 4-9 and pump 6. For confidential reasons, I cannot disclose all specifics involving my minor child, but I will say children were present during this interaction, which made the situation even more concerning. I truly tried to do the right thing by helping someone I believed was in need of emergency assistance, and this situation left a very sour taste in my mouth. Please do NOT hand strangers your unlocked phone, even if the story sounds urgent or believable. This was my fault . I also reported this to law enforcement, and I was informed this type of tactic is commonly associated with gambling/distraction scams. Also, to the woman who was screaming, recording, and saying she had also been scammed -- if you happen to be in this group, thank you so much for helping by recording and for calling the police. Shoutout to the Sheetz managers and TJ Maxx staff as well. Unfortunately Sheetz did not have security on duty during the daytime . Please stay alert, ladies, and keep your children close. I have already reported this to the appropriate agencies. Sharing this so other women and families stay safe.

The PR Pantry - Vanilla tres leches

(4.5 stars) Not long after the PR Pantry opened over the…read moresummer, its social media was awash in tantalizing photos of candied fruit and cheesecakes. More recently, the shop added a food truck to the mix. After driving past it on a nearly daily basis, I finally got around to checking it out. First, a caveat: this is not a Latin market. If you come here expecting one, you will be disappointed. Think of it instead as a typical corner convenience store...that happens to have an above-average homemade food selection. Inside, you'll encounter candied fruit, cheesecake, tres leches, pasteles, and more. The truck then offers plates, apps, and sides. From arroz con gandules to pernil to mofongo, classic Puerto Rican dishes are well-accounted for. While there are a few tables outside the store, The PR Pantry is probably best suited for takeout. I ordered a pernil sandwich with a side of arroz con gandules and an additional side of tostones before popping inside to grab a slice of vanilla tres leches. Nothing took terribly long to prepare, and the guys on the truck were personable. At $13 for the sandwich and $3.50 for an extra side, the prices were reasonable too, especially for the quantity and quality. The food was, on average, really, really good. Served on pressed Cuban-style bread, the pernil sandwich was a bit greasy, but it was also incredibly satisfying. Tender pork met melty cheese and magic ensued. The rice was only OK, but the tostones were crisp and paired well with the accompanying pink sauce (mayoketchup). Later on, my wife and I split the tres leches, and it was incredible: rich and creamy with hints of cinnamon. If you want filling, tasty homemade food that won't break the bank, add The PR Pantry to your list. I regret that it took me this long to try it.

I would not recommend this place because it is completely abandoned/closed but everywhere you look;…read moreFB, Google etc says it's open, but it is not.
