Did an amazing job for us. We asked for trees to be thinned out, to not touch the roof, and to have the canopy raised, but cautioned we did not want the trees totally stripped. Not only did they take care of everything, then even shaped the trees and cleaned every bit of cut branch. They we're also very knowledgeable and told us beforehand what they suggested we not cut to maintain the structural balance of the trees. We had an old tree split in our backyard, and we reached out to a handful of tree companies for estimates, which had a pretty wide range of estimates. When I contacted Gerardo, he was very quick to reply (called me back, followed by coordination via text), was friendly, and offered to come by to provide an accurate estimate. He's a very genuine man, straightforward in his approach, and knew what he was talking about (given the challenges of taking down the split tree so close to our house). He also gave great recommendations on removal of another small tree that could have caused issues, and cleaned up some of the overhang from a neighbors tree as well. Plus, his team did all of this for less than the other companies had estimated. The work was done within a week of initially reaching out to him. Within a couple of days he was at the house to give a quote and another couple days later he got everything taken care of. I called Big G after a branch of my neighbor's huge elm tree fell in my yard. There were quite a few precarious branches hanging dangerously low as well. When they did the job they took shortcuts. In one of the flower beds they didn't put landscaping fabric down because their boss wasn't watching. In another flower bed they skipped spaces. Within a week of the job, grass was invading into places without the fabric. They also dug up and threw away some of my decorative plants thinking they were weeds. They also left some weeds as if they were plants. They should know what's a plant and what's a weed. They also skipped an area where I had stones instead of mulch. I guess that was too much work for them. I complained, and the boss said they'd come back. They came back in the middle of the day when I was wondering if they'd show up at all. They put fabric down but then didn't put back some large rocks that are in the flower beds for decoration. They just left them for me to pick up something that's 30% of my body weight. Why not just put them where they belong? They also didn't bury the soaker hose. I mentioned it to the guy and he said they'd bury it but they didn't. If you hire these guys, they need CONSTANT supervision and you need to check their work very carefully. They are not hardworking and have no pride in their work. Only gave 2 stars because they came back to fix their shoddy work, otherwise it would be 1 star. read more

Outstanding job cutting my two large trees. I used Yelp to request estimates from about 14 different tree services. I know that's more than usual. The estimate prices ranged from $200 to $800. Big G came out the next day after my online request on a weekend to look at my trees and gave me the lowest estimate. He tied with another provider but I went with Big G because he provided additional recommendations and took his time to really look at my situation. He just seemed to take the extra steps to make sure he got down exactly what I wanted. That day I told him I'd go with him. Two days later Big G and his crew came out and got to work. Gerrardo and his partner Dwayne came to cut our trees a few weeks ago. We had spoken on the phone and he agreed to take a credit card number for the payment. When they showed up I was not home and they asked my wife for a check. She wrote them a check and they have had trouble cashing it for some unknown reason. Dwayne has since called several times to harass my wife about meeting him with cash. He has been downright rude and threatening. We have told them we will write another check or be happy to provide a credit card number upon return of the initial check, but they want cash. I explained to them that we needed a receipt for the services and they continue to send threatening texts as well as show up at our house demanding cash. We are by no means trying to not pay them and are alarmed by the extreme text messages we are receiving saying things like "no weapon can harm them as they believe in their Jesus" and "we are going to get what is coming to us". We are now concerned about safety to the point of having to involve law enforcement as they continue to show up demanding cash from my wife and I. I would suggest NOT using this company as they clearly have something very fishy going on and are downright SCARY........ read more
