I requested a quote and appointment, and in less than a day, received a phone call from Josh. We discussed pricing and what items needed to be removed. I had a very unfortunate experience with Junk King Austin. I had a small-ish load and thought it was overkill to have them come on site for such a small job. I called their support team, told them about the contents of my load, and was told that they would be in touch with me to get an estimate. However, they showed up at my house anyway to remove the junk. I was not home but my wife was, and she had no context given I was taking care of the junk removal. I was surprised to see a charge of almost $200 for what was a small load for which I would never have approved had I had an estimate. Confused, I called customer support informing of the obvious misalignment. I was hoping to meet halfway - they never contacted me providing the quote as they promised (and acknowledged). But over one week later, no one has contacted me, in spite of assuring me someone was going to reach out and I'm out almost $200. The people were quite nice and very responsive. I felt like this was a total scam and unprofessional. I was very disappointed and would not recommend this service. I had less than 180 cubic feet of brush to be collected. When the persons arrived they tried to tell me how it may not look like much but could take up more space in the truck. How could a neatly stacked brush pile take up more space? They quoted over $500! This made no sense give the cost estimator on their site. I offered $300 since it was aligned with that estimator. They then tried to pressure me. I wouldn't use their services if they were free. Bait and switch scam. I called in the morning, they quoted me a fair price and an appointment time, then 5 minutes from our scheduled time they call me to say they want to see pictures. I sent a few shots and now the price is tripled and the original team can no longer make it in time. Then, a new team calls me to say they can do it, but they don't have masks or gloves... I guess Covid isn't a big deal to them either. I called and spoke with Stephen, the owner. He was polite. Ultimately though, I wouldn't trust working with them. read more

I'm highly dissatisfied with this company. I was quoted $70 for a full size mattress set removal. They called on the wrong date initially to pick up and I had to correct them. Then they showed up an hour late on the correct date (I was late to work. Thanks!). And they told me it was $99 for the mattress and $99 for the box spring and $30 for the frame. The man on the truck said he doesn't know why they quoted me $70 but they "do that all the time". I talked them down to $140 with tax. That's still DOUBLE what I was quoted. And I was late to work. This company is a scam. Call another one. They seem like the cheapest, but it's a lie. read more
