I first met Karen when my boyfriend and I wanted to go see a house I found on Zillow. From there, she took us on many hunts for a new home. She really understood what we were looking for and worked with our price point. Prices have risen a lot recently, so we have yet to purchase a home, but in the meantime, I decided to sell my own townhome. Of course I asked Karen to be my realtor! Karen spent many, many hours talking with me in person AND on the phone, sending emails, and even texts. She was the most responsive realtor I could have hoped for and always had helpful, detailed answers for every single one of my questions. If she was unavailable at any time (which was rare!), Patrick stepped in seamlessly to assist. Karen worked with my HOA, the title company, and the buyer's agent to get all the information needed and everything always had an incredibly fast turnaround time. Karen and Patrick even did the staging for my home and it turned out AMAZING! I very nearly had second thoughts about selling the place! Karen had a professional photographer take the photos for the listing and they turned out really well. Patrick took some of the photos himself and they were excellent - he has a great eye for how to take listing photos! Karen and Patrick even did a virtual tour website and gave me a DVD with the staging photos as a keepsake. When the house was in the final closing stages, Karen and Patrick came by to collect their staging items and even helped me getting some of my heavier items into my moving truck. This was such a great help to me and I appreciated it so much. On the day of closing, Karen actually drove me to the office and was there to help walk me through all the documents before signing. It was a HUGE help and such an amazing thing for her to do. I really felt she had my back from start to finish. On top of all this, Karen and Patrick are two of the most warm and genuine people I have met. They both have a great sense of humor and extensive knowledge on every aspect of the buying and selling process. Karen's past experiences as a broker and Patrick's past experiences at Zillow make them a really well-rounded team who will give you the best real estate expertise around. Luckily, with Zillow, we told our agent what houses we were interested in. We had reservations about one of the houses for legitimate reasons. But instead of trying to allay our fears, the agent kept pushing us towards buying it. We could smell the fear and frustration that the agent was going to lose the sale. All of the "experts" they brought in to look at the house were either incompetent or had a working relationship with JLS Realty or both. When we pulled out of that deal and made an offer on another home, which his office was also selling, our agent's manager came to the inspection. It was clear the manager was trying to 1) distract us from working with the inspector and 2) influence us to buy that house. In all the property transactions I've been in, that was a first! In the end we didn't buy that house either. Speaking of inspections. As I was paying due diligence I came across Washington State law that prohibited, for ethical reasons, inspectors from providing inspection reports directly to agents without the permission of the buyer. It's a reportable action. What do you think our inspector did for each house they looked at? They gave it to them! For the second house, not coincidentally, a problem with the hot water heater was fixed when we went out to the site to meet another professional. In effect, the inspector gave the selling agent information about the house, which was in violation of the purchase contract. If the seller learned that, the sellers could have used that to terminate the contract AND take our earnest money. John L. Scott doesn't understand that, if they treat us right, we will recommend their agents and call them in the future. Their shady business practices are obviously intended to fatten their pockets at the expense of their clients.

For openers, Dawnette is a shockingly poor communicator. The text chains I could show you are really embarrassing. She responds as if she's only half paying attention and is very unclear in her responses. We aren't sure if the problem is cognitive or that she doesn't care enough to engage with purpose. She also drops the ball. For example, she was given a three month heads up that the renters would not be extending, and I reminded her twice to get ready to list/show the house again. Nonetheless, the house sat empty for a month because she forgot to get it back on the market. Also, she brought every little renter complaint to me rather than just solving the problems like a property manager should. I'd be on a cruise ship texting plumbers while she waited for further instruction. One time she almost rented our home to a guy who was using his father's SS#. It was obvious something was awry with the renters information and I had to point out the obvious to prevent her from renting the house under fraudulent pretenses. Perhaps our biggest complaint of all is she didn't show us an ounce of respect. We felt like we were at the bottom of her list of people who deserve consideration. We paid her way to much money to feel like she didn't care about us or our experience. The first two years we employed her she found us a renter and we managed the property ourselves. That was mostly ok, other than when she forgot to relist the house. The last year we used her to manage the property and it was downright dreadful. We wouldn't recommend Dawnette to our worst enemy. She is bad at what she does. Our property manager in Texas is leagues better in every regard so we know how the job can and should be done. We hope this helps. Avoid at all costs.

They didn't even give me a reference, and because my landlord didn't reply to emails or replied late, or perhaps gave a bad reference, I had a lot of trouble finding a new place. All I wanted was a reference. I came from another state and rented this house sight unseen, trusting their name, but they didn't lift a finger to help me in my difficult time. In the end, with a baby, two months of stress looking for a house, being rejected, and paying more deposit because there was no reference or a bad one. Think twice before doing business with this company or trusting their name, and if possible, talk to the landlord directly and meet them because one day they might be disappeared. Otherwise, you might end up without electricity and get no help from anyone. Because at the end of the day, once they rent the house and get their money, you're nobody's concern. Note for response: I just have asked that I rented property via your company and paid on time. New landlord just want to make sure no eviction or delayed payments.
