New local Miami hack unlocked - Go to Big Daddy's for their coffee! Usually, I would go to Big Daddy's to just buy liquor. But, me and my friend decided to try and chill after running around doing errands before the New Year. We decided to try and sit down and get their Cafe con Leche. The store has a designated section to sit down. The table was really cool because it had an old map of the Florida Keys. The coffee was also really good and it definitely gave me the burst of energy for our party that night. The cashier who took care of us and made our coffee was very nice. He made sure we had the right sweetness to our drinks. This is a good place to get that much needed cafecito break. Other than that, the prices of the store for alcohol is really good. They have a nice selection of Florida and Miami local wines, spirits and beers to choose from. They also have deals with brand favorites as well. I personally, could get lost in the store! read more

Big Daddy's is great. They've got a great selection of wines, spirits and some random little snacks. It's open 24 hours. They offer a rewards program where you accumulate points as you purchase liquor. It's next door to Flanny's. WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED IN A LIQOUR STORE?! Nothing. The answer to that question is nothing more. Big Daddy's has it all. The pricing is pretty fair across the board, and they have a super decent chilled white wine selection which I respect. They also have a great beer selection, too. The only issue is parking - I guess the city knows it's lit at Big Daddy's and the lot is almost always full. I get excited shopping anywhere that accumulates points offering incentives towards future purchases. While they don't carry a notable Prosecco variety, I've been able to quickly pinpoint my liquid of choice in a jiffy. Big Daddy's Liquor is the gift that keeps giving when leaving Flanigan's. Notably, they're always located directly next to each other making this liquor store so much more cooler in my eyes. It's a weird spot to find a parking spot when the place is packed but if you're lucky, you'll secure a slot during your visit here. I like the prices and reliability offered here so stopping by for a quick bottle is never a hassle in my my eyes. They've got a large variety in liquors, cordials, spirits, and wine with the main beer favorites in the cooler ready for immediate consumption. I'm not going to give just 2 stars like Michelle C and one other reviewer did, but IMO Big Daddy's doesn't deserve more than 3. This 24/7 liquor store has a decent overall selection and the staff is friendly, but when I stopped here there was a layer of dust on many of the bottles on the shelves (seriously, how much effort does it take to go through every few days with a duster?). They were out of regular 750ml bottles of Bailey's and the stuff they wanted to sell us instead and told us was actually better than Bailey's, was crap. While they do have some niceties in this store, such as the ability to fill growlers and larger containers, the prices on their wines and liquors aren't that great. If you're just in the market for wine, go to Happy Wine a few doors away, or even to the gas station a bit further up on 27th and you'll do better price-wise. Props for them being open 24 hours a day, though if you visit during overnight hours, you'll need to communicate with the attendant and make your purchase via the walk up window at the back. read more

3 stars for organization and stock but unfortunately Flannigan's epic low prices do not take effect in here. I just paid $7.99 plus tax for a 6 pack of ginger beer where I can find this in most places for $2 less. I found store prices to be average to above average from other places. And to top it off, my sales clerk didn't know math too well. I threw in the change last minute and he jipped me the $1. Partly my fault for checking my change when I got to the car. I liked the selection of craft beer at this location and thought it was great that they offered growler pours on site. Lots of Florida breweries were represented. Not much in the way of specialty releases as far as I could tell, but they had all the bases covered with local and regional craft selections. Other reviewers have complained about the prices. I didn't have a problem with them. I think my total was $34 for three six-packs, which is not excessive. Plus, the place is in Coconut Grove, not Hialeah, for goodness sake. My biggest beef is the same as what others have stated - the parking. The place has a decent size lot but apparently shares it with a restaurant. There's a small area near the store that indicates it's for Big Daddy's Parking only, but who really knows? I parked alongside some kind of storage shed or whatever that structure is near the side of the building. When I came out, a group of hoodlums were standing around an expensive car that was double-parked in such a way that they blocked my ability to get out. When I walked up to get in my car, they didn't react. Finally when I started the engine and started to roll the window down to ask them to move (thus taking my life in my own hands), they drove off. So who knows, maybe an isolated incident, maybe it was the time and day (around 7 pm on a Saturday evening), or maybe it's an ongoing problem a lot of customers experience. In all I liked this place and would probably consider it a good go-to for craft beer choices in Miami. If I lived there. And if I did I'd probably walk there if I could. read more

I LOVE the new space (on the corner). It's definitely bigger and nicer. The staff is awesome. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and help you in every way. The prices here are standard and they have good sales. I recommend anyone who is a frequent shopper (like myself) to join their rewards program. Once you get x amount of points you get a $20 giftcard to Flanigan's restaurant. Big Daddy's also has lottery and a good assortment of snacks for those drinking "munchies". Tip: If you're going to stop in late-night prepare to make your transaction through the window on the side of the building. The only location to be open 24 hours! My golly, I was looking for a place late sunday night and did a yelp search and this is the one place that popped up. I called them to make sure I wasn't dreaming and the gentlemen on the phone said, "we're open 24 hours." Off I went to visit Big Daddy's. Right now, there's construction outside where you can park. So there is very little parking available. If you visit late night like I did, this won't be too much of a problem. I walked in and noticed its a pretty big place. You can definitely fine whatever you're looking for. Two gentlemen were handling the store and they were extremely helpful and friendly. They will even help promote some of their drinks on occasion if their having a promotion on something, they'll sometimes have a taster. I noticed a high top table and had to ask why it was there. One of the gentlemen said they have coffee machines and often have pastelitos (pastries) during the week. He explained people come in and sit down at the table and have coffee and pastelitos...catch up on their newspaper and such. Nice! So if you're in the area and need some coffee... come here! Have a pastry while you're at it. Cool staff, cool place. And... It's open 24 hours! That's the best part... I think. read more

Most of the staff are super friendly, but Ricky is rude. He was rude to me and two seconds later he was rude to a customer asking about parking. The poor guy had to figure out where to park just to make a quick purchase. Helpful hint: 1. Don't say on a sign if you buy three bottles of wine you get a discount when you don't; and, 2. Don't have those stupid posts saying "Big Daddy's Parking" when you won't let your customers park there. Ricky, that in fact is not a driveway. And, Ricky was such a jerk when I asked for plastic instead of those large ridiculous paper bags. I am not only a customer, but had a broken shoulder at the time. So, your lecture on plastic wasn't needed or welcomed. I live around the corner, but am considering it might be worth going down the road the Grove Liquors. I went there this evening to retrieve a gift for my husband that's in the military that enjoys whiskey, Ricky the manager of the store was extremely helpful. Ricky went out of his way to assist me and help me select the perfect bottle for my husband that has been serving in Japan and has not been home for a year. Ricky also went the extra mile and walked me to my car as I purchased 8 bottles and needed assistance, thank you again to Ricky and Big Daddy's where you will receive excellent customer service! Ive been going coming to the Big Daddy's liquor store located right next to the Flanigan's restaurant for many years now and have had no problems with their service. However, during this recent Corona Virus outbreak I seem to be pretty upset with the fact that they have yet to change their payment system still making me sign using the attached pen to the cardholder. I have noticed many retailers such as Publix and Milams take precautionary steps for the care and safety of their customers and yet to see this essential system update in the liquor store. As I respect the fact that a new system update can be costly, if they truly care about the health of their customers, this shouldn't be an issue and at least provide hand sanitizer for us prior to signage which I was NOT offered and was not given after I specifically asked for it. read more

To be honest, I had driven past Big Daddy's in the Grove many times (and I frequent others throughout South Florida), but I had never patronized. I should also say that I have never reviewed a liquor store before, but because this Big Daddy's is open 24 hours a day, I felt that it deserved a reviews. I went in at 10:00am on a Saturday morning, and I was surprised by the selection of liquor. Those of us who live in South Florida know that there are liquor stores and then there are holes in the wall where one can purchase booze, but this Big Daddy's is a legitimate place. Even comparatively, this Big Daddy's has a selection that is better than other franchise stores in the tri-county area. I was also rather impressed by the friendly nature of the clerk in the store. He greeted me when I walked in and made suggestions for me. For a Miami establishment on a Saturday morning, this was impressive to me.
