Angie's Grill was a new and unique experience because I thought we were gonna go to a restaurant…read moreand sit down and eat. If that is what you're looking for you might find yourself to be a little disappointed. This is not that kind of a joint. (no waiters, no waitresses, no tableside service, but no high prices and ridiculous exorbitant tipping expectations either). At first using the GPS, this place was hard to find until I realize we are not looking for a sit down restaurant...it's a drive up and drive-through restaurant, it's basically made for takeout dining exclusively! Don't let that fool you though because the food at this place slaps! Lol! We had a lobster roll, a Mexican salad (served on a large flour tortilla, as a burrito!) as well as the flatbread and chicken quesadillas. They were all excellent (if you're from the East Coast, you might be disappointed by the lobster roll because it's a local interpretation of what a lobster roll would be like ) and they are among our favorite things to pick up when we want to grab food and take it back home.. The prices are very affordable! In a time when you can't touch a meal for less than somewhere between 15 and $20 this place you can feed your whole family for that even their drinks are inexpensive. They actually have a lot of locations sprinkled throughout the greater phoenix area. my experience is that some locations are a little better than others in terms of customer service and efficiency but generally speaking I like the price and I like the food no matter which location I go to but invariably some are better than others.

Great value and love their seared falafel option. So yummy on a salad…read more Service has always been great, quick and easy. It's Drive thru, but it is nicely built and kept clean around the business. It's also super close to Sunburst Elementary where I teach reading. Affordable and Healthy options.

Ordered 3 carne asada tacos and 3 al pastors, 2 Mexican cokes. It was good enough that GF ordered another carne and an Arizona burrito to have at lunch today. The menu is pretty simple, like most street taco joints, other than they also have a lot of breakfast burrito options available. Is it the BEST taco in Arizona? No. But they have little tables for you to sit at. with salt and pepper on them and they bring red & green sauces out to you. Kayla was our waitress and she was friendly, saying that the AZ burrito was her fave, so that's the one we got, although we haven't tried it quite yet. Once this business gets officially listed, I'll update with the burrito review. Check it out. Burrito update: it's really good.

I thought it was one of the best chorizos I've ever tried. Perfectly spiced not too much like you will get at other places. Their red salsa and a little bit of ketchup were amazing on it. My lady friend thought it needed more oregano and chili powder. The tripas was absolutely fantastic not as crunchy and fried as I normally get it. But I think I may like it better the way this place serves it. Pastor had a good char and was tasty. Would absolutely get it again. I was a little disappointed in the asada. Was not our favorite at all. No real seasoning to it, and kinda mushy.

Lucky I did because today he posted that he would no longer be in Anthem but in Tempe just up the street from me. SCORE! Bf was pumped about trying elote for the first man but asked seriously "What if I don't like it?" Elote is corn, smothered with Mayo, and sprinkled with cheese. What's not to like?! Bf had the Mexican (#1 seller) and me being the hot Cheetos aficionado that I am, ordered hot Cheeto. Bf very quickly became an elote believer!! As Joyce mentioned in her review, I remember the good ol' days elote was $1.75... ah yes those were the days. Elote will run you $6 on the cob or in a cup. There's just something that hits differently eating it on a cob than in a cup... like having a Mexican Coke and a regular coke... clearly elote on the cob and Mexican Coke are the ways to go! Support the elote man and get your elote! There's something fun and adventurous about chasing down the elote man and eating elote in a parking lot on a cool January evening :) or is that just me?

My son said it was the best he ever had. We can't wait for his truck to be back in our area so we can go again. Thanks again. #thankyouthursday

What's Fresh? - Food Truck Thursday…read more Holy crap! I'm not usually a cold sandwich type of guy for food truck Thursday but on the recommendation of a friend I had to try it. Warren, the executive chef and owner of What's Fresh?, crushed the competition today. I was immediately greeted by a very friendly smile, none other than the owners Mom. Yup, Warren's mother. This is the lady who makes the pickles for their sandwiches and wraps. I ordered the porktastic sandwich with the hope that it would be good. Unwrapping this meal I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of bread Warren uses for his sandwiches. The mustard used on it is the perfect complement to the fresh greens and pork. The explosion of flavors complimenting each other was absolutely awesome!!! Fresh tomato, a fresh mix of greens (baby spinach is always good with pork) and those pickles. Pickles! Crisp with a lot of flavor! I loved it! Just so you know, for the $8 you not only get the sandwich but a bag of chips and a drink. That's $2 less than any other food truck on the street. I guess fresher is better! While Warren and his wife Bonnie have only been working the food truck for 4 months, it is definitely a hit around here. Whether it's a sandwich or a wrap, it will always be fresh and delicious. If you get a chance to catch What's Fresh, make sure to tell Warren to ride his bike more often! Yes, he rides. In fact, he was proudly representing a local ride t-shirt. Support a local biker who uses locally sourced ingredients. Feed your face, and be good to one another. Grumpy PS. Ask for extra pickles!!! They are THAT good!

Hey Yelp friends!…read more If you get a chance to eat at Ruby's food truck Do it!!! Yum! I just had dinner with my fam and everyone is still raving about how good it is. They stuff the tacos. We tried the steak, birria, el pastor, the el pastor combo, and I ordered the Queso Birria combo. My combo was Amazing. It comes fresh and hot with 3 delish tacos and the dipping juices with fresh lemon. The pintos have great flavor, too. They have a lot of options. The staff was friendly and fast. We did not wait long at all. They also offer churros. They were yummy, my only thought was, they could use a bit more sugar. For drinks they had sprite and coke in the can. It was pretty convenient that they came as a community dinner night for my daughter's apartment community. We were heading to the pool and decided to try the tacos. It was supper convenient and delish. We hope the community will invite Ruby's again. The sun was going down and the sunset was gorgeous. It was the perfect time to sit for a few minutes and while they prepared our order. Prices were reasonable and we were very pleased. We recommend. Check them out.
