I had a very unique situation. I call big blue Pools to deal with a disabled friend in the neighborhood. He needed his pool to be covered with a new cover and new water bags. I called big blue Pools and talked to the owner and explain the situation to her. She gave me a very reasonable price, which I paid for and scheduled the very next day a service call to his house. The Service crew that she sent the house was so accommodating to this disabled friend of mine. He was very impressed. They did an excellent job in the backyard covering the pool with plenty of water bags to make sure it lasted throughout the year. My brand new pool heater was shot after barely one season of use because of the incorrect installation done by the people we were previously using. Emma was able to diagnose the issue from a video I sent her, and she got us on the schedule within days. All the fees were outlined to me before hand, so I knew exactly what I was going to pay and exactly what was going to happen. Justin, our service tech, was phenomenal. He got our heater back up and running in about 15 minutes after replacing a very badly corroded bypass valve. Huge thank you to Big Blue Pool and Spas!!! Had a Hayward VSP Pump that was just over 2 years old die on me. Nothing appearing on the LCD control panel, motor not engaging. Reached out to a pool service company and an pool service w/electricians company and both properly assessed the problem was inside the pump's motor. Brought it to a local Hayward place and they performed a similar assessment that I would need to engage Hayward for a warranty service as I had purchased an Expert Line with 3yr warranty. Hayward introduced me to Big Blue Pools. They were quick to call back, quick to set up an appointment, and the service tech arrived on time. In a short amount of time, my pump was back in action, all covered under warranty. Even though it was a warranty repair that I did not cost me anything, the service I received from Big Blue Pool was amazing. Been using them for years, and their workers were top notch. However, this years closing was a colossal mess. Ten days before our scheduled closing, I called and asked for an accommodation as to their time of arrival as I had an important doctors appt that afternoon; I was told no problem. Come the day of the closing, I call and are told that the closing will be in the afternoon!! I ask what about the accommodation I asked for, and was given a snide response back. So I had to reschedule, as they refused to move my closing up. Instead of giving me a date while on the phone, she says she's going to have to call me back later that day. But in order to punish me for getting upset, she never called back to reschedule. So very unprofessional of them. Long term client very disappointed! read more

I was having trouble with my heat pump. I called and right away they answered the phone. They told me to send video and they would get back to me right away. We had a green pool and someone recommended them. Nathalie was very responsive going back and forth and scheduled an appointment after providing pictures. Justin came and replaced the salt cell sensor and things were looking up. We added shock but pool stayed green. 2 guys came to power vac, $149/hr and stopped after doing shallow end saying it was too green and need to come back and then they looked at the filter and said the grids needed to be replaced. We paid for them to replace them and once that was done and more shock added the pool finally looks blue. We thought we found a good pool company to use for opening/closings and would recommend them to our neighbors. I requested that they come back to finish the power vac and wanted to charge me another $149 and Emma, office manager, wouldn't even work with me to finish the job which wouldn't take more than15-20 minutes. They just want the $$ and we will be using another company for power vac and only charging $95. I would not recommend them as they just care about charging people.. read more

I contacted Big Blue too late to have them open my pool built last August, but I've already scheduled my closing with them, so should you and here's why. When my pool was closed last fall by the company who built my pool/patio, LI Pool and Patio in Coram (who are excellent) the technician left my spa open to be used during the winter. He locked the configuration of my Aqua Link master control for spa only controlling. LI Pool closed their in-house service Dept, focusing on pool construction. When I reopened the pool no one could undo the controller is until Big Blue came. Jason, who is the service manager, knew exactly how to fine tune the valves and web-based controller. He patiently explained most scenarios to me so I would have greater knowledge of the devices. Amazingly, when called for questions about temperature adjustment, rather ignoring the question, Jason stopped by personally to explain again the user issues I had! Emma who handles customer service is also diligent and reliable, always calling back and following up, 2 traits rarely seen in this business. I might even set up my opening with them now.
