This company is great to work with. Honest, hardworking, communicative, and was successful on our…read moreproject. Our project was a myriad of things around the yard: rockscape around some beds, pull out some unweildy bushes and plant new ones, and a new rain garden. The project got done on time. The owner, Mike was at our property to scope out the project, and gave us some advice on what to plant, and why. It was helpful having someone who knows something about plants (and what will work here in St. Louis). His team arrived without any drama. The only thing was their truck accidentally, drove over a portion of our grass (our driveway near the street is pretty narrow, along with the road itself, making turning tough for bigger trucks). I hadn't noticed it at all. Mike gave me a call, showed me what happened, offered to do some light grading to fix the indent and plant new grass. All done proactively. I can't tell you how many people just hope you don't notice stuff. Not Basile this time. Thank you. I was waiting for springtime to see how the grass was taking - it's looking great! 5 star experience.

I had to remind the other companies that I was waiting for their estimates. Mike asked me pertinent questions over the phone and with that information, he was able to give me a detailed estimate. I just wanted my front yard irrigated, but I had gardens already in place and requested part of the trenching be hand-dug. This was no problem. The plumbers that did the initial work were efficient and professional. Their work was very neatly done. The two guys who came to install the piping were definitely rougher around the edges. I specifically asked them to set aside any plants or bulbs that they uncover during their digging, so I could replant later. They said they didn't find anything, ridiculous because my garden beds are stuffed full of bulbs and they even dug right under plant labels I had. That's a big deal to me, because I put a lot of time and effort into my garden. Also, I wish they would have asked my input as one sprinkler head seems too close to my deck, especially since my deck is being rebuilt. This coming Spring will show where the damage was done. After a power outage, my controller wasn't working and they replaced it quickly. All in all, I love the irrigation system but would have liked a bit more attention paid to the little details.

We signed a contract with this company to repair our outdoor lighting after the May 16th tornado…read more Unfortunately, it has been a comedy of errors over the past few months and the issue is still unresolved. Despite multiple notices to pay an outstanding balance, our outdoor lighting still doesn't work. The company essentially installed an entirely new system, leaving our old lighting in disarray. While I was initially fine with this, the new system has never functioned properly. I've worked with Adam and have asked him seven times to come out and fix the problem, but there has been no resolution. At this point, I'm exhausted and simply want the product removed--I certainly don't want to pay $3,000 for something that doesn't work. I've also requested to speak with the owner but have yet to receive a call. Please be cautious if you're considering this company for your lighting needs. Ironically, their fencing division was fantastic--they repaired our fence perfectly with no issues. However, the lighting division has been a complete mess, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for outdoor lighting services.

I understand it's a busy time and it was communicated that our project isn't urgent, but even a "hey I'm busy I'll get back to you in a couple of weeks" would've been appreciated. I contacted Jerry and 3 other landscape companies. All had high ratings on BBB and some were listed on Angie's list as being good. One never contacted me back with their bid. Two were $10,000 to $14,000 more. Maloney was just under the lowest. My backyard goes down hill and the soil has eroded badly. All companies agreed with the depth of the hill it would take two retaining walls and each described building them the same exact way. But before Jerry would give me a bid, he ask if he could clear out some weeds with a pile of rocks underneath. No one else asked that so they guessed at what needed done on that end of the hill. The walls are 50 feet long. Jerry not only underbid the others but built a 3rd retaining wall on the side yard where it was eroding, again all was under the other bids. He and his team were great to communicate with, were on time, worked fast, cleaned up each night and left my yard looking tremendously better than when they arrived. The walls are beautiful, several neighbors stopped to compliment Jerry, his team and us. Jerry is an honest, handshake kind of man. He will put all on paper if you want. If not he will discuss with you in depth what you want done and how he will do it. We then hired him to cut down one tree, trim 5 other trees and 3 large shrubs, clean out old roots and some old growth in our front yard. Again he and his team were very efficient and gave us great price. We will definitely hire them again.
