Wide variety of bagels and cream cheese, big and delicious. Service was great. Clean restaurant.

I have always loved this place. Getting bagels with my brother has always been somewhat of a tradition here. Whether it was for breakfast or comfort food or cheating on a diet... we tend to find ourselves here or at one of the many locations. Love the savory breakfast bagel options and also enjoy just a bagel with any of the delicious cream cheese options. Went in today by myself and was greeted with friendly service. There was a bit of a wait on the food but it wasn't horrible. I got my food to-go checked my bag and unfortunately did not get the muffin I paid for. After going back in to get it, they were very gracious and did not even ask to look at my receipt and helped me. Very happy overall with my visit here.

    Burnt over toasted bagel

I placed an order for a bagel and cream cheese to go. Took my bag and left and went home to eat it. To my surprise the bagel (both halves)was quite burnt, considering they didn't even ask me if I wanted it toasted. Very disappointing!!

My favorite breakfast place. Great place to sit down or take to go and their bagels and sandwiches are better then Panera plus way cheeper.

This will be the last try for us at BAB. Kimberlee could learn a little customer service. Put a Smile on your face and do your job.

Very disorganized. Lost our order; then said they already brought it to us. Also, 2 of the coffee urns were empty. We won't be back.

He said these are hands-down one of the two best restaurants for pancakes he has ever been to. (The other is in Washington DC). The Klompen cakes with blueberries were light, fluffy, and delicious. I even had half of one of his (he ordered three!) and was incredibly impressed. I got the veggie power blend skillet (sauce on the side) with two poached eggs. I only added salt and pepper, it did not even need the sauce that came with it, it was that good. The orange juice was truly fresh squeezed, the latte was good and the coffee was strong. Overall, an excellent experience. The only drawback to our breakfast experience was not being able to have real maple syrup with the pancakes. Kristin, a thoughtful and attentive server, explained that they used to have this as an option, but no longer do. We highly recommend if you are in the area!

The strudel was also excellent with a perfectly balanced gravy, well done potatoes, and eggs. The flavors and textures were perfect. The server was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was average. Not bad average, just fine average. No complaints. Just a basic farm style diner vibe. I highly recommend this place.

Further reading into the history of place, I found that this place has been around since the 1940s. A cool history and the curiosity for the long lines brought us to be one of those people standing in line one morning. First of all, I am slightly terrified of diners thinking the service would be bad but from the moment we were greeted to when we left the place, the atmosphere has been very welcoming and friendly. Our waitress sat us at a small booth close to the kitchen. I ordered coffee and their bird nest thinking... it should be fine, it's a bird nest, not a full blow whatever other huge breakfast plates they have! I was wrong. My husband ordered their famous hashbrown omelette that I felt could have fed an entire village! My bird nest came. My eyes got really big because honestly, it was the size of an eagles' nest. I apologized profusely for not finishing and since it was our last full day before moving on from Holland, I couldn't take the leftovers home. My husband felt the same way but he at least ate half of his food. To me, I think my food needed a bit more flavor but they have salt and pepper on the table. We noted that there seemed to be a lot of regulars or repeat customers. No doubt, this place is a very nostalgic place for a lot of people who have moved away or have visited here previously. To be honest, even though it was only our first visit, the people made us feel at home.

Reasonable prices for food and drinks as well. It can get REALLY busy though, so be patient. Especially busy in the morning on the weekend. It was fine during the daytime during the weekday. I bought some merch as well as food, including chocolate covered blueberries and a cute dog collar for my new puppy! (See picture). Bowerman's on 8th is a love letter to the humble blueberry, written in the language of warm lattes, fresh pastries, and shelves overflowing with jars that seem to bottle summer itself. As someone with a dairy allergy, coffee shops can sometimes feel like places built for everyone else. But here there was kindness in the details--different milk options, thoughtful choices, and the feeling that everyone should be able to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Traveling from out of state, this was one of the places I circled on my map, hoping reality would match the stories. Somehow, it was even better. The blueberry latte was the kind of drink that slows time. Bright and refreshing, sweet without trying too hard, tasting like a morning walk through a Michigan orchard after the rain. Around me were cases filled with treats and shelves stacked with jams, syrups, and every blueberry creation imaginable, each one carrying a little piece of the region's soul. There is something beautiful about a place that chooses one simple thing and perfects it. Bowerman's does not merely sell coffee--it celebrates harvests, local traditions, and the quiet joy of gathering around a table. You leave with a warm cup in your hands, a bag of blueberry treasures under your arm and a feeling of satisfaction. Some places are worth the drive. Some are worth the hype. Bowerman's on 8th is both.
