The customer service is very poor here. I ordered a large latte. It came out at the same time as another customer's medium latte and the barista switched our drinks when she handed them too us. She realized her mistake and asked to have them back. She dumped the large drijnk into a medium cup and threw out the rest (the other customer wondered why she didn't just let him keep the large instead of wasting a cup and throwing out the extra). As bad as that was, I had it worse. She dumped the medium drink into a cup and just handed it to me. I asked her to top it off (after all, I ordered a large), and she said it was almost to the top of the large cup. I asked her again to top it off. My co worker and I order from here at least once a week. We order online, and wait to get our confirmation saying that the order was received by the restaurant and what time it will be ready. The conformation sheet is brought in each time we go to pick up. EVERY single time we pick up, no one knows about the order. It's never ready, and we have to wait for 10- 15 minutes before they get our order together. Today was the same story. Walk in, show the conformation to the person at the counter, and they ask... "what is this?" So it was explained to them, "it's a conformation, showing my order, the time it would be ready, and what we ordered. That's what this is" OH. Now he knows what it is. And after that, it's all excuses ... Oh, Our machine this, our machine that.... I don't know if we will be back. *MOLD REVIEW* Absolutely disappointing. It was my first time visiting BAB after a quick google search for a local bagel place and reading the first top 3 4-5 star reviews convinced me to go and try them out as I read that they not only have bagels but have great muffins too. I decided to give it a shot and I don't believe I will again. I ordered a Start Fresh breakfast sandwich on a honey oat bagel which is egg whites, tomatoes and turkey sausage. I substituted the tomatoes for red onion. As I was eating it, I kept thinking this tastes kind of funky and with every bite I took I continued to have this feeling. When I inspected the sandwich, I noticed the egg white is MOLDY and very clearly showing a green/gray/blue colour on the egg white as you can see in my photo. I was absolutely disgusted and am feeling rather sick at this moment due to that. I called the store and spoke to the manager at the time and her name was Jane (not native english speaker it seemed like). I let her know that her egg whites that I got were moldy. She did not once apologize for this, she instead decided to plead her case that "No, our egg whites are fresh, not moldy, but we can make you a new sandwich if you like". I did not appreciate her response to my having just ingested their moldy egg white that is making me feel sick. Did not offer a refund, only a new sandwich. I will be bringing whatever is left of the sandwich to the store today and showing them as it seems as though they did not believe me. I will also be contacting the general manager as these are franchised owned business and there was no indication that they would take off the egg whites from being sold. I can only hope that after the call, they checked on their egg whites and disposed of them. I also tried their mini muffins. At the time of writing this review, I tried the cookies and cream and it was tasty. I don't expect to have a mold related issue with their muffins. Please be wary. read more

Not just a bagel shop but also muffins and pastries! I love all the different cream cheese flavors they offer. We tried the bacon cheddar cream cheese which I feel is a game changer for bagels. The bagel itself was decent but could probably use a bit more toasting as you can see in the color. Didn't grab a picture but also got the cinnamon muffin. That was delicious and very moist! This place had such great reviews I couldn't wait to try it...hard to find quality bagels in Indy (except Broad Ripple). Got a sampling of bagels and muffins from this Fishers location after a friend brought some from the Avon location. Good quality. We got French toast, blueberry and cinnamon bagels. Nice and fresh. My wife and I stopped here this weekend for a quick breakfast stop after an early morning at Jupiter flights at Conner prairie. I originally was just going to grab a muffin because that's usually what I get, but they had a sign for a French toast egg sandwich and it looked very good. I think this picture says it all! I've tried bagels from all over Indy and I have to say this place is my favorite. Even if you don't get a bagel sandwich the bagels alone are fantastic. They serve both breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches both are equally as good. I will say though, the egg is microwaved that they use for the breakfast sandwich making the texture a little different but personally that does not bother me. This trip I did not get a muffin but I have in the past and they have always been fresh and moist, and they have a pretty good selection of different flavored, both jumbo and mini. He had the everything bagel with chive cream cheese & I had Asiago with veggie cream cheese. This is a nice place for a bagel type sandwich or pastry. I can't say that I think that they were the real deal bagels though. If you're going to call yourself Big Apple Bagels, people are going to have big expectations. It's certainly a step up from Dunkin' Donuts. I love Big Apple! This location in particular has been around for quite awhile. I used to frequent it in high school as I graduated from Fishers and it was very close by! They also used to donate all of their leftover bagels to the food pantry at the end of each day--not sure if they still do that, but my mom used to be one of the folks who would drive there, pick them up and deliver them to the food pantry. Love that they did that. My one and only suggestion/question: do they ever have the sun dried tomato cream cheese? One of the recent times I visited, they had it listed where the to-go containers are so I asked for it; and the cashier showed me the list of cream cheeses they had available. Well, sun dried tomato was on that list as well so I asked for it again. Long story short, they didn't have that flavor. So I'm wondering if it's ever available or if they just don't sell it anymore? I think my favorite place for a fresh bagel. If you're coming from the west, you have to drive by it and use a round about. As I mentioned fresh, but if you ask for it toasted with butter, they toast AND put the butter on it. None of this, here's your plastic knife and a small container of butter. Easy grab drive and eat! We really enjoy BAB. My husband goes all the time and me not so much, but I always enjoy my meal when I'm there. I'm also always surprised at ALL we get for the money! Today we got a coffee, two sandwiches, two muffins, a banana, and a smoothie and it was only $15. That is soooo affordable! The smoothie was really good and big enough for kids to split. The coffee was really good and I'm picky. The double chocolate muffins were delish but almost so thick you needed a cup of milk with them. When I found out that Big Apple Bagels (BAB) has two locations not too far from where I now live, I was ecstatic! Growing up I remember always having BAB when I would visit family in Michigan. So I eagerly went in to order my fave, chocolate chip bagel with, get this...chocolate chip cream cheese! BAB is the only place I know of to have chocolate chip cream cheese. And let me tell you, it's a game changer! I might also be known to eat that cream cheese by itself, but who can say! BAB has everything you might look for in a bagel shop. There are sweet and savory options. Another great thing about BAB is My Little Muffin. Does this place get any better!? Honestly I don't know how there aren't more locations. There are muffins and mini muffins. I personally enjoy the double chocolate cheesecake muffin. It is so moist and delicious. There are also smoothie options. What more do you need to convince you!?
