overall really great place for all ages. We had a work party there and the service was good and the food was the only problem. A couple of coworkers and myself included had food poisoning. They have a great bar and decent arcade read more

Was quoted 1.5 hours at 8pm for bowling..fine, we get it. They were packed for spring break. We go play games etc. come back around 9:05 to check and they're not ready. Ok, we'll wait. The part that is 1 star is we waited 30 minutes and watched lanes 2-5 stay open the entire time. We ask, they say there's people ahead of us still. Ok, a little annoyed because we see open lanes. Wait another 20 mins, there now 12 TWELVE lanes open were counting, ask again and it's just the "there's people ahead of you". I get it, there's a list but if all lanes are full that's a different story. We wait about 50 mins and watched those 4 lanes stay open the entire time on top of the other 8 lanes that were now open for at least 10 mins. We've been hitting Langer's a lot more often and this solidified it. The prices way better, the service is 100x better, and it's ran SO much better! Done with this place. Stay away, it used to fun. Post Covid it's gone far downhill. Price and service wise read more

I had a great time during my 4 hour visit. Games pool darts big screen tv's. It's a 30 year old kids dream. Much like Dave and busters. But bigger and more adult friendly. They have a large 21+ area. VIP bowling lanes off to the side. I recommend the vip bowl because the entire place gets busy. read more

My son and I couldn't of missed this venue more during the pandemic.. Guaranteed fun memories whether we go for appetizers or full meals. Full entertainment short wait times and 5 star customer service! How great be able to wait for a bowling lane to open and have a delicious menu to fill the time. Huge tv screens surround you pool tables and a raised family area where you can have all family members not just 21 and over ! Couldn't be better ! read more

Please don't waist your time and money on Big Al's. We live a mile away and have tried over and over to like this place. The food is terrible, the service is average and the games are overpriced. After many, many tries we have finally decided that tonight was our last time. Ever. read more

I would give ZERO stars if possible. Food is terrible. Staff is rude. Do not waste your money here

This was an ok place to grab a beer and watch some sports. The screens were all pretty old and low quality and the food wasn't very good quality. Mine gave me indigestion. There's really not a great selection in the arcade either. The bowling alleys seem decent enough, but I wouldn't cross town for the experience. read more

Seat yourself in the restaurant means you'll wait 20 minute without a word from anyone while everyone else that came in after you gets to order. So frustrating. Not worth it for the 5 minutes of games my kids played. Terrible customer service. read more

Me and my friends have been going to sunset lanes for years and when we found out about Big Als we went to check it out. We were amazed when we first walked in and seeing the sports bar was unbelievable. They have a huge tv on the wall that stretches across the bar which shows various sports games going on. The food was great even though it was a tad pricy. We checked out the arcade they have upstairs after and were surprised to see so many games. The few we played gave out a lot of tickets and the rewards center had a lot of great prizes. We will be coming back often and highly suggest coming here with friends or family. read more

My husband and I stopped here during our trip to Portland. We just wanted to bowl and get a bite to eat. Big Al's had so much more than we were expecting. The bowling area is very large, and we were in a separate bowling area that was darker with TV's playing music videos. It was a fun atmosphere. The bowling itself was a bit expensive (about $30 for 2 people to play 2 games, plus shoes for both of us). Wish we would have known about the $1 Tuesdays, we were there on a Monday. Tuesdays they have $1 games, $1 shoe rentals, and $1 beer. We also spent $20 in the arcade between the 2 of us, and it lasted long enough for us. We had a good time and were able to play a variety of the games that they had. The only food we had was the nachos, but they were really good. The server wasn't the greatest (should have come back to check on us, and forgot my water completely), but he was really nice and friendly. If we lived closer to this area, we would definitely be going back to Big Al's. Super fun place that offers a lot more than just bowling! read more

Facility: Very clean, very nice. Service not so great. Bowling: Our party had two lanes for bowling that shut down a total of 4 times. Both lane screens stopped in the middle of round 8, so our party never got to finish our games. That was frustrating. We turned our shoes back in, and I asked why this happened. The person at front explained he had made a mistake in dividing up the games between the lanes and that he could then transfer the remaining games to one lane so we could finish. That didn't make sense to me, and we had already changed our shoes. We left very dissatisfied. Drinks: One of our party ordered a pepsi that tasted very watered down. The other drinks were fine. He mentioned the watery taste to the waitress and she said.."sorry, that's just how it is"...and didn't offer to replace it or take it off the bill. read more

Just moved here recently and Im so glad I found this place! They play every game from every sport and its perfect if you have kids. The kids will stay busy while you obsess over the game. We went on a Sunday at 1pm and we were seated right away with a great view of the massive, theater size, screen. Reminds me of ESPN zone but with 2 bowling alleys and an arcade. I didnt go to the bowling area or the arcade but it looked pretty cool. The food was very good. We just got a couple burgers and a kids mac and cheese. We all liked it all. Cant wait to see some Warriors games here! read more

The food here is good, just like any bar food restaurant. My family like coming here to eat and play games. Their happy hour is the best. Full portion appetizers during happy hour not small dishes. Come here on your birthday and get a free dessert. read more

This place is so awful. Terrible customer service and the manager should not still have a job. Before I came in I called and ask if I could have 2 lanes and they said I could. Then the manager said there's not enough lanes and I told him we would wait. And he kept saying we couldn't do 2 lanes and we drove almost 30 min to get here. After bowling they close at 10 but we were almost done with our game but they stopped our game at 9:55. Me and a friend wanted to buy one more game because we finished a lot earlier than our other lane. We asked at 9:30 and they said we couldn't buy another game even though we only took 20 minutes for a game and instead made us wait for our other friends to finish their game, which they didnt. While we were waiting we went upstairs at 9:40 for the arcade to pass the time and it was closed too! This place is awful and if I could give 0 stars I would. Do not come here, the lanes and bowling balls are very bad too. Mind as well spend 10 more minutes to drive to king pins and have a better time. read more

Good for parties. If you want good quick service call in a reservation otherwise you will be forgotten for easily 2 hours while you wait.

Restaurant is THE WORST. Seat yourself... then they ignore you. Had to get up to go find someone just to get me and the kids menus! So who comes to get your order? No one. Eventually someone comes and takes your order... so what happens? Drinks didn't even show up when the food did. No waters, no drinks. So we're done eating... asked 2 different people if we can get our check... one of them being a manager type... their answer? "That's something you have to take up with your server". But if they don't come by and you're not going to find them for me, how do I ask for it? Clueless service. Unacceptable. I know this is not really a restaurant but this absolutely was the worst. read more

Take your kids here! They have happy hour in the bowling lanes on all apps. before 6pm. We ordered a sampler platter and chicken quesadillas for $12's! Bowling is fun and the kids liked picking cool designer balls. Just watch the toes with the kiddos...yes, I became the statistic... read more

The place is really good. I usually order the peanut butter burger which is great!!! it sounds odd but it is really the best thing you could ever eat. I order the "house salad" instead of fries and it is awesome. So... yesterday I ordered the Flaming death Burger or what ever they call it. It did have a warning label on it...... I should have taken that as a warning, but foolishly i ordered it anyways. It was the hottest thing I have ever eaten and I have been pooping fire all morning. My butt knows exactly how a dragons mouth must feel. It did come with a cool skull key chain, which I proudly but on my key chain to let others know I can handle the heat. I only ate half of the burger because it was just too hot, too hot to be enjoyable. The other thing I noticed, is up stairs where the kids play the games, there is a railing that seperates the children from the 50 foot fall onto the hard 1st story floor, along this railing there are tables and chairs, if one young child jumped on a chair and then over the railing it would just be horrible, that seems like a safety hazard to me as I have young children. You have to keep a close eye on those whipper snapers read more

Really love big Al's for games and sports but had to take away 2 stars for the food and drinks. It's just god awful. Inedible food. Drinks are okay at best. If they make the food and drinks better since its very much a part of the experience I'll add 2 stars. read more

Have been to Big Al's many times. More disappointed each time. The kids play upstairs where it seems every other game has one issue or the other (controller doesn't work or is so far off calibration it's useless). When I brought it up to the person in the ticket redemption area I got a blank stare. We decided to bowl next and the experience was the same. Issues with balls stuck in the pin return. Hitting service on the terminal was another waiting game. We were happy with the food, the wait staff were also very nice and attentive. I just feel like a place that costs as much as this, they might take better care the equipment instead of cheating the kids out of it. read more

So I usually meet a friend of mine who drives from N Portland to enjoy Happy Hour and play shuffleboard. Well we were greeted at the door upstairs by someone who I'll assume was a manager saying it's closed because there isn't a bartender available. So we went downstairs and had beverages. Things sure have changed since I was a manager in the service industry, what should have happened is that manager should have rolled up his sleeves and become the bartender for his paying patrons. Then my poor friend had to drive back the next day to retrieve his credit card as he was given someone else's card(he said he was treated pretty rudely on the phone when trying to find out if his card was there and tried to get a manager on the phone) unfortunately he doesn't want to go back there again so we'll need to meet somewhere else now. Last but not least I did get food to go also, it was sub par and I miss some of the menu items. I really hope things improve or I won't be spending anymore time there . And I was so looking forward to football season. read more

Fun place! Good food and convenient because we can walk there! Bowling, arcade games, big screen tv's. Clean environment.

The company I work for returned for our summer gathering here at Big Al's. My hat's off to members of my own company's staff for showing up to get everybody registered (a lot of work). Big Al's staff did their usual great job of organization and had the standard picnic fare of hot dogs and hamburgers and sides efficiently arranged for attack by a very hungry crew. Since neither Ron nor I are into arcade games or bowling, we surrendered our fun cards (good for free arcade games and bowling) to a coworkers child. I'm sure those cards were put to good use. It's a joyful thought because fun at a picnic is on the list of good things during summer. read more

Cool place, reminds me of a sports book in a Vegas casino, about the same size (large) also. Why one star? Service...very bad service. And not the, "we just opened and are crowded service"; but you have to ask for things like napkins and refills several times. Nobody else will help you, they will just walk over and tell your waitress (who forgot in the first place), to bring you another drink. Lots of attitude with the servers, we witnessed this with other tables. Management needs to control this; that is how bad it was, the message was not getting delivered from the top. So, for such a cool place, it will be a long, long time before I give them another chance. You feel the poor vibe with the front door hostesses and it never leaves; I would not recommend this place. read more

We've been to big Al's a bunch = 8+ in last 18 mos: good food, pricy beers, outstanding bowling amenities, very young and eager staff, great facility where serious dollars were spent. Huge sports bar. Overall a fun place to bowl, watch football, have a few adult beverages and hang with the fam read more

Service was fabulous in Slider Alley. I don't like bowling but I loved bowling at Big ALS Fun!

My guy and I went last night for the Ninkasi event that was held at the Caddyshack bar. We were greatly disappointed in our treatment from Missy the bartender. She was rude to both my boyfriend and I. When we approached the bar on our arrival, she took our drink order, but continually ignored us when we wanted to place our food order. We hadn't finished our complete order at that point. She was vaguely present with us, but not entirely because I was in mid sentence asking her a question about the menu, she looked at me as if to acknowledge me and yet completely ignored me and proceeded to help another gal that was farther down the bar. How rude Missy! We enjoyed the free pool and the Ninkasi folks. My boyfriend went back to the bar and tried to order another round for us and he was completely ignored by Missy. In fact, she skipped over him and helped a guy behind him. Very unprofessional and rude of Missy again. It was like we weren't "cool" enough for her and her "smart" attitude towards us is inexcusable. It was our first and will be our last time to the Caddyshack. We will never be going to the Caddyshack again because of Missy. read more

It's a great place too bowl or play overpriced video games. Other than that at any big game or big event is an absolute waste of your time You're better of staying at home. I've given them a few chances at superbowl games and ufc events. Each time has taken over 2 hours for a food order while tables around you get order after of food or drinks. It's a waste of your time. Service 1/10. I'll never go back read more

Big Al's is a nice change of pace for a family night out. If you keep up to date with their events and nightly deals you can have a great time while saving a few bucks from their normal rates. The restaurant portion of Big Al's is roomy and centers around walls of flat-screens and video projectors, playing the various sporting events. Food is fairly price ($12 - $20) and service is decent (depending on the crowd size). The Arcade is stocked with popular games and attractions. Bowling Alley area is well lit and plays music videos on projection screens and stereo systems while you're trying to keep your ball out of the gutter. Overall Big Al's is a pleaser for all members of the family. Don't worry parents, Big Al's offer a full service bar in the center of their facility. read more

This review speaks to the ARCADE experience I had with my 9-year-old twins. My first time to Al's, I took them there for a video game treat. The games are expensive (most over a dollar to play), so you're money doesn't go very far. The game my son wanted to play the most is one that dispenses cards to the player. He brought some cards with him from a friend's birthday party he had attended. Well, the machine was out of cards. An employee in the rewards store replaced it, but while we were there, the machine was not restocked. Also, I did not see any Al's staff walking the floor to ask for help. The "rewards store" is a joke! The cheap trinkets require high numbers of tickets. About all you can get is cheap candy. What's worse, to me, is virtually all of the "prizes" are plastered with Al's logo! Who needs that?! My kids ended up with a bunch of crap candy and, get this, there were NO BAGS available!! We used pockets and carried stuff in our hands to get out of there. Seems like, for what they charge, they could buy some bags for the kids. Overall, I was NOT impressed with Al's arcade and would not go back. I hope the corporate suits read the high numbers of poor reviews for this business and get busy to improve the customer experience..... otherwise Al's may end up as another empty building... read more

We are here with a party of 7 and ordered the big platter, the artichoke dip appetizer, and the large wing order. The artichoke dip had so many chips compared to the amount of dip we got. The dip was also burned to the small metal bowl that it came in. Our tarot tots and our onion rings were cold when we got them. Our waitress kept forgetting our drinks and plates and I had to remind her about my brother's milkshake 4 times before we got it. The food was okay but the service and amount of food we got for the money was not what we had expected. read more

A group of us always went here had the best time and great service. For years!!! Well ok the servers were nice but the service always is bad very bad. I went to watch a game recently. Asked which screen my game would be on. So I sat accordingly to the info I was given. They lied the game was where I could not see it. When I arrived in ample time to pick a great spot. When I let the manager know. She was rude and very mean. I and my friends family and any one else I've let know won't return. The service was the worst I've ever seen and the manager was not management material. She must of been raised under a rock. I am so disappointed not being able to go back because of this but I go to places for customer service. I always treat people with respect and love. I'm sad she works there and is getting away with treating people with lies and unkind manor isms. . read more

Expensive! We blew through a $150.00 gift card with 4 people... Would never come here if I actually had to pay...

I didn't expect much except an average experience and even that turned out to be too high of an expectation. Of course, I already knew it would be a sensory overload - no surprise there, big time insanity as soon as we walked in. But then... The food? Way worse than average. Their "world famous" nachos were a joke; I could've made better ones at home for a couple bucks (instead of a ridiculous $12). Their mixed drinks were the reason I had agreed to go there - I knew my husband could go nuts with my son while I had the edge of the hectic atmosphere taken off with a little bit of adult drink. I literally had to ask for a different drink after trying the "NW Mai Tai" (tasted more like I was drinking Vick's vapor rub). So I tried the extremely sweet sounding "Starburst Martini" and again, felt like I was drinking nail polish remover. Nasty. Then to find out these drinks were $8.50 and $8.00 respectively? Insane! I have had better and cheaper drinks from Applebee's, Chili's, and the Old Spaghetti Factory... That's kind of pathetic. Fortunately our server took the first drink off the bill which I appreciated. I only drank the second one out of politeness because I felt bad sending the first one back. All in all, before games, we shelled out $54 (plus tip) for an appetizer, two entrees, a kid's meal, a tiny side of fruit, and a martini... And every single thing was sub par. I would've much rather gone elsewhere but hey, lesson learned. I would recommend others to go to a decent family restaurant first and then just go to Wunderland or a local bowling alley to get the most bang for your buck (and your tastebuds). read more

YIKES!!! Man 'o man, the place is cavernous. A VERY impressive structure to say the least. Well thought out and perfectly tuned to suck the last coupla bucks out of your Dad's wallet.. They should just have a WWE wrestler standing at the door with a shop vac sucking everything out of your pockets as you stand there spread eagled - friskable against the wall like Elisabeth Shue in "Palmetto".. Everywhere you turn is money seperating gambits that are there strictly to suck you in, and done so well you smilingly offer up the tax return you had earmarked for a new dishwasher. Everywhere you look is bowling alleys, sports bars, golf games, and upstairs a video/pinball Mecca that would make ANY kid ~Gaa~Gaaa~ no matter WHAT age!! I half expected the Urinal to dispense tickets. Honestly, I think this is a training camp to get kids ready for Indian Casinos!! They even have a neck lanyard so the kids can hang their 'lil "Big Al's" debit card around their heads and then baskets into which they can let their tickets fall. Then they can get the tickets counted onto their debit card and go pick a prize... It only takes about 950,000 tickets for a pair of Groucho Glasses.. Just hope the kid doesn't want a ping pong ball gun! Sheesh, he'll be there 'til his first year of College!! The bowling was a bit better, and closer to the Bar!! They got these bumpers that come up for the kids so their balls can't go in the gutters... GREAT!!! So now my 8 year old "Grand Nephew" can beat me at bowling?? What next? Laser guided golf balls so he can beat me at THAT too?? The food looked like it might be OK. Apparently, they have some poor Highschool kid in back chained to a Nacho Chip machine that turns particle board into dip chips... ~SIGH~ No doubt I will be back here from time to time 'til the G-neph gets interested in cars or girls, or maybe BOTH!! I DID have a lot fun though, despite the weak drinks.. Try the four way air hockey upstairs.. Definately a GAS!!! read more

Been frequenting Big Als for over 4 years. Probably there at least once a week. Often with a large group. The food is ok, the staff has been very friendly, and it's a fun overall place. But I have watched the prices on the menu climb for years and it is getting ridiculous now. I have seen normal food menu items climb from around 8-12 dollars, to now 12-20 dollars. But now they want to charge an extra 3 dollars to substitute a side salad for fries (which has always been free) $3 dollars more for lettuce?! And they want to charge extra to make the tots Cajun... to sprinkle a little seasoning on them. These Nickle and dime charges in addition to the constant menu prices raising is enough to have me looking elsewhere for myself, friends, and employees who all frequent Big Al's. A few wonderful staff members is the only reason we have continued to come to begin with. If you are looking for a place to grab lunch enjoy your $20 sandwich and side salad. read more
