Do not sleep in and wait to get this salad. It was so good! I dove right in and forgot to take a photo of it, so I stole this from their socials. I saw this online and had thought about it for days that I had to stop waiting and go get it. This is the best salad I've had in years. With the grilled chicken fresh and hot, it made the feta a bit melty, which added a nice creamy texture to every bite. The homemade raspberry vinaigrette dressing balances so well with that creamy texture and the taste of the pecans. Truly, chef's kiss. read more

I love Andersons. The atmosphere with the dark interior, wood tables and polished concrete feels cozy and welcoming. The bar is beautiful with white and gold octagon wall covering and lighted wood shelves. This visit was our second and it was just as delicious as our first time. Consistency is key and Andersons nails it every time. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 well bourbon and Diet Cokes. For a snack we ordered junior sliders with added pimento cheese. The junior sliders came with fries. The sliders were delicious, juicy and the added pimento was such a treat. We normally eat a larger burger but tonight we just needed a snack. I can't say enough good things about Andersons. The owners are very friendly and greet you by name. Anderson's truly feels like a neighborhood tavern you go to on the regular. read more

Exactly What Sherwood Needed Took my family to Anderson's Tavern and we sat by the window--perfect spot. The food was outstanding. Fresh, fast, and absolutely massive portions. Like, plan-on-leftovers massive. Lainey, the owner, was also our server, which made the whole experience even better. Friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of the food coming out of that kitchen--and she should be. Ordered the Ricky Bobby Breakfast Special (see photo) and wow. Crispy chicken, sausage gravy, biscuits, potatoes--every bite hit. Honestly, the portions were almost too big, and that's not a complaint. This place is exactly what Sherwood has been missing. We arrived at 4pm & glad we did as the parking lot filled quickly. The atmosphere was unique with seating at the bar with sports on several screens, wooden tables that could be rearranged to accommodate multiple size parties & plenty of windows to make the space feel larger. Service was friendly & quick making it easy to get a larger volume of patrons in & out. Not a very large menu, but definitely a different selection of options for the area! Online they had Pot Roast listed which is why we decided to try them. However, there wasn't pot roast offered on the menu, very discouraging. For our 2 entrees with a side, 1 soda and one mixed drink our bill was $53 which seemed like a good price. read more

My friends and I visited Anderson's Tavern in Sherwood for the first time on Super Bowl Sunday. Anderson's serves up a Southern-style menu, and both the service and ambiance were great. The pub has a really good vibe. Since it was a Super Bowl party, they offered a free buffet at 3 p.m. with collard greens, pulled pork sliders, and more. We arrived early to get a good spot, so we had a couple of mimosas and a side from the Sunday brunch menu before the game started. We sat in the back barstool and chair area with the big-screen TVs, karaoke, and pool tables. Up front, there's a nice bar and table seating area. They also have a 4 p.m. menu that isn't served on Sundays. The owners and staff were very friendly and attentive. I appreciated how often they stopped by our table to check if we needed anything. This place has only been open since September 2025, but it already feels like a great little neighborhood tavern to hang out, play pool, watch the game, eat, drink and have a few laughs. I'll definitely be back sometime during the weekday to try that 4 p.m. menu. read more

Well, what a wonderful surprise Anderson's Tavern was. The southern dishes were excellent! I had the fried okra, greens and sweet potato fries. All were incredibly delicious. My partner had the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and greens. He ate every bite. We got banana pudding (yum), and two slices of dessert to go. The Snickers Pie has me craving more and the carrot cake was unique and tasty. Service was wonderful. My only "complaint" is that they are currently not doing takeout orders. This was desperately needed in Sherwood. The good: Great bar. Solid food MADE FROM SCRATCH for the most part. Commitment to service. Unlike some of the sports bars in town, they actually have the NFL package. So this is THE place on Sunday mornings. Blows the doors off of actual breakfast places. The Annie's French toast is soooooo good. Only way to improve is to add a protein, otherwise it's a lot of sugar. Chicken and French Toast would be the shit. The Ricky Bobby breakfast is incredible. The pimento burger is solid IF it's cooked to temp. Fries are not house made BUT are actual potatoes. They have sweet potato fries too that are house made. Good house made desserts too. Craft cocktails. They make their own sour mix and have fresh juice. Good luck finding that elsewhere in Sherwood. They clean the lines to their kegs, so the beer doesn't taste gross. Service is unparalleled. There is a back room, which is great for football or hanging out. That's where they do karaoke too. If you fucking hate karaoke (and I do -- particularly in the burbs where it is all drunks who can't sing), it can be avoided by going to the main room. The Meh: wings are good but not great. On the large side and the Buffalo lacks punch. The deviled eggs are uninspired. Ditto the pimento appetizer. The Bad: No bad. This place is great. read more

The service is friendly and popping. It's still has the new place enthusiasm. It's an open style restaurant. You walk in and you are in. Makes you feel like all eyes on is as soon as you walking. Well lit all new tables and chairs. Tried a little bit of everything. Fried pickles deviled eggs Mac N cheese with pulled pork, shrimp n grits and bread pudding. We ate family style. Passing the dishes around to share. The table speaks. Pickles were flavorfull. A good size portion with a nice touch sauce. Eggs were well seemed a little close to long in the tooth. Then stuffed with a mustardy filling not terrible. Pork and Mac was okay. No flavor on the Mac N cheese good flavor on the pork. Shrimp n grits special. Great grits shrimp wer cooked well. Star of the show was the bread pudding. Just good bread pudding with ice cream on top. I'll come back for some other menu items it was good. Hard to park. Great brunch. Got the biscuits and gravy, which was filling and delicious. They didn't skimp on the gravy. Potatoes that come on the side are more like home fries than traditional hash browns, but still tasty. My sister ordered the gluten free chicken and waffles. This place used to be the mattress store, and before that a growler fill up bar. They have completely renovated it into this industrial looking tavern. Has a full bar, pool tables, TVs and pinball in the back. Then there's the food. Southern food...fried green tomatoes, Mac n cheese, greens, fried chicken, a pimento and bacon sandwich! I was raised in Florida and Oklahoma. So I love me some Southern food. These folks are from Georgia and know all about Southern fare. I had the fried chicken platter. I thought I would be getting chicken pieces, but got a fried chicken breast. I am a leg/thigh kind of gal, but THIS was so tasty, so crunchy, so juicy....but the star of the whole platter was the greens. So so good! We were fortunate enough to be waited on by one of the owners, and he was fantastic. I would recommend this place for the whole experience. read more

Just tried Anderson's Tavern with friends who have eaten there twice previously. We were all very impressed with the quality and quantity of our meals, the friendly and efficient service, and the reasonable prices. Our table had the Saturday special, which is Mississippi pot roast with a tiny zing, and the fried chicken entree. We also shared fried green tomatoes with a tasty sauce. Sides were collards, mac and cheese, and onion rings. Every bite was perfect. Really good scratch made food for around $25 per person. One note: some of the listed menu items are actually daily specials so don't expect to be able to order everthing you see on the menu. I missed some of the specials but I do know the shrimp and grits is Thursday, the low country boil is Friday and the pot roast is Saturday. We were too full to try the dessert! When I see a small menu with daily specials I know they are doing things the right way, from scratch! Really, go try it out! Great food worth the drive to Sherwood. read more
