Im a caregiver for individuals with intellectual disabilities through a company called ResCare. We have been taking our clients bikes here to get fixed but this last time we ran into a problem. I dropped off the bike to get the brakes fixed over a week ago. When I dropped the bike off I made sure to explain to them that I needed to pay for the bike up front due to having to use the company credit card and it takes a process to get the credit card back. They agreed and the bike repair was paid for. Fast forward a week and the bike was still not fixed when it was suppose to. Well today we went to pick up the bike since we called and they said it was ready for pickup over the phone. When we got there they said they ran into some other problems which needed to be fixed and that there was a balance of $16 dollars (did not mention this over the phone). I asked them if they would allow my client to take the bike home today and that I would be back tomorrow with the company card to pay the difference. They said no. I tried to explain to the lady that my client would have a behavior if he didn't get the bike because he was set on getting the bike today. To any other person waiting an extra day to get the bike would be fine but to someone with an intellectual disability telling them to wait another day when they are looking at the bike and see that it is fixed just leads to behaviors. She still didn't allow it my client left the store angry and shouting. Will no longer go here to get our clients bikes repaired. read more

This is my go-to bicycle shop! I've been a customer of Bicycle Butler for many years but my most recent visit warranted a review. I have a specialty bike called an Elliptigo; picture a bike that pedals through elliptical motion; and I was in need of new tires, treads and all, which also happen to be a specialty size. So Bicycle Butler had to order the replacements. After just a few days my bike was ready. What makes this particular story worth reviewing is the extra care and effort they put in. Ever since I purchased my Elliptigo, (not from Bicycle Butler) almost five years ago, I've had an issue with my gear shifter but forgot to mention it when I dropped off my bike as I bought my bike new and always just worked around the wonky shifter. When Bicycle Butler swapped my tires out they tested my bike and noticed the gear shifter was not working properly. Without charging me for the additional labor, they fixed my gear shifter. Obviously testing my bike once home, the experience of riding my bike has dramatically changed! I had no idea how much the gear shifter was affecting my daily ride. The familiar noise of changing the gears was gone... I've been piloting my Elliptigo for almost five years and had no idea my bike was supposed to seamlessly transition between gears... It was probably a simple fix to the employee who did it but it means a lot to me that they took the time to do so. Thank you Bicycle Butler! read more

Bicycle Butler is a dying breed: a locally owned/operated neighborhood bike shop with great customer service. I'm no bike expert, so whenever I have a problem with my bike or my kids' bike, I stop by to see how to fix it or see if they have parts. There have been many times they throw it on the rack and fix it while I wait, or scrounge a used part for me out of a drawer. Often, free of charge. These guys are enthusiasts, and it shows. I'm so happy to have them nearby. Great job, guys! read more

What a fantastic experience. This was the first and the last place I went when on a mission to invest in an entry level road bike for myself. I wanted to look around and I loved that they didn't pressure me but also took the time to teach me the basic of shopping for this type of bike. I know close to nothing so I appreciated the respectful and educational crash course on the basics. I left the shop that day and went to multiple other nice local bike shops but something about Bicycle Butler stood out. Kathy, Vance and Spencer all helped me on different days and they were all so great. Kathy is who initially helped me when I was window shopping, Spencer sold me my bike, helmet, shorts, bike kit, and the works the next day. Then when I came back to buy a bike rack Vance helped me install in the rain and also built it for me before I got there. GREAT people, great shop, everything I needed, customer service and I felt they went above and beyond to help me!!!! Highly recommend. So excited about my new bike too. read more

Although I didn't choose this place to repair my bike, I will never recommend it or revisit this place. I had been in an collision accident which the driver of the car agreed to pay for my bicycle repairs. After standing up from my accident, and being a mechanic myself, I noticed that both front and rear tires were probably damaged at the rim, implying that they need to be replaced. Over the phone, they were rude and short with me. When I got my bike back, the rear wheel had been completely replaced with some medium-quality wheel that was no where near equivalent to the value of the wheel that had been damaged. Also, the front wheel had not been replaced either. Placing it on my own truing stand, I found multiple errors in alignment. Trying to correct them myself, I discovered that the front rim was bent as well. This was all after a week of waiting. Why it takes a week to replace a wheel is beyond me since they made no indication that parts had to be ordered. They neglected to thoroughly check my front rim and could not even tighten down a lockring on the wheel they replaced. If you REALLY care about your bike, don't bring it here. read more

Bike is fixed but I went in and got quoted at $50 for the job, come back and picked up the bike and my total was $130 and he used the most expensive parts to fix the bike. The work is solid but be prepared to pay 110% more than quoted which is super annoying, no one likes a surprise like that. read more

Bought a new bike, last year's model. Exactly what I was looking for at a good price. The staff was helpful in asking me questions to determine the bike that would work best for me. They also helped me get the right size frame. I couldn't use the shifter because of arthritis in my left thumb so they gave me a discounted price on a grip shift and didn't charge for labor! I would recommend Bicycle Butler to anyone because of their knowledge and customer service. read more

With warmer weather coaxing us outside, my wife and I decided to shop for bikes. It is important to note we are both middle-aged, and neither of us have been on a bicycle in more than 15 years. The first thing we did was go to the interwebs and were quickly overwhelmed by the multitude of choices. It became readily apparent that we needed help in selecting the correct bike for our needs. Since we don't live far from the Bicycle Butler, we decided to make that our first stop. To make a long story short, we didn't bother looking anywhere else...these folks were super gracious, helpful and had exactly what we were looking for, at the price we wanted. I am so happy we didn't buy bicycle's from an unknown entity online! It feels great to support a local shop and to know they are right around the corner if we require adjustments or maintenance. They did not have a bike in my size. They are the local dealers for the brand of bike I was looking at so it is surprising they don't have all the sizes to try. They found one and ordered it. I agreed to pay 1/2 down. Before the bike got there, I called and told an employee that I found out I need my knees replaced and won't be able to purchase the bike. He failed to note our conversation and the bike arrived and got assembled. When I paid the down payment, I was never informed that the money was non refundable. Even if I was still able to purchase the bike, I would expect to be able to test ride the correct size bike before committing to buy. I was told that I could not get my down payment back. read more
