Prior to this class, our massaging one another wasn't always the greatest experience--often due to just not knowing where/how to massage and also the giver getting tired quickly. It was empowering to learn simple tricks in just how to stand when giving a massage so that you don't tire so easily. Since the workshop, we both have found small moments to go back to the massage techniques when the other is needing some extra attention. As active people we often have various aches and pains; it seemed like a double win to get massages and also learn how to better give them to each other. Another couple we are good friends with joined us. Alexis reached out ahead of the session to solicit our ideas for the time together and make sure we were fully prepared. When she arrived she immediately set a relaxed, joyful, loving mood. She taught us both a seated, neck/shoulder massage and a more immersive, laying down full back massage with oil. With our small group she provided regular 1:1 feedback, which was very helpful. She also kept it low stress and fun for all. Since the session we have continued to practice some of what we learned. The seated massage techniques are especially easy to incorporate into even a weeknight evening. It was freeing to learn a few easy moves that are consistently well-received. I would strongly recommend Alexis. She is a lovely, warm, talented instructor.

My experience with Cho was hands-down one of the best massages I've ever had. She has incredible strength, but what really sets her apart is how mindful and thoughtful she is. She even guided me to remember to deep breathe during the session, which helped me release so much built-up tightness. Cho is a miracle worker in a truly beautiful space. 10/10 recommendation!

Prior to visiting Psoas Massage + Bodywork, I hadn't experienced a focused sports massage before -…read moremost of my past massages were more along the lines of spa, Thai, or general wellness sessions. Because of that, the experience here felt very different, especially with the more conversational atmosphere. The location is convenient to get to, whether ' walking, taking public transit, or arriving by rideshare. And it's easy to find - just up the stairs with clear signage. Stella is excellent! She immediately put me at ease and kept an ongoing dialogue throughout each session, which made the experience feel both comfortable and intentional. I purchased the intro pack, which included three sessions, and I booked all of them with her. The package also came with a private sauna session, which was a nice bonus that I used on a non-massage day. They provide towels, though it's worth noting there isn't a shower available if you need a fuller refresh afterward. Overall, the massage sessions have been beneficial, especially on days when I was feeling particularly tight or sore. Their focus is clearly on targeted wellness and bodywork, so if you're looking for a more traditional spa-like experience, this may not be the right fit. But if you want focused, intentional care, it's definitely worth visiting.

The staff told me the owner would contact me before moving forward. That never happened. Instead, they went ahead and charged me $180 without any communication or approval. She was so intuitive to feel what was sensitive and needed extra or less pressure during the session. And she is very easy to talk to and explain the what's and why's of our body's pain. I'm pretty sore after, but that's because I have such tight muscles and they've been ignored for so long that they are sensitive. Due to this, I will be updating my review accordingly. -------------------------------------------- I came to TRX massage a while back because I was experiencing shoulder stiffness and lower back pain. The massage itself was good, even though it was on the harder side, dispite me mentioning that I would like less pressure. After the massage initially, I felt some relief, but in the days to come, I experienced bruising and more pain in my shoulders, causing me to even develop a headache. In addition, the owner assumed that I booked a 90 minute session when I had booked a 60 minute session, and she did the full 90 minute massage on me which I did not notice since I had fallen asleep halfway through the massage. There was no implication that I would be refunded for the time difference, and I paid for the 90 minute session instead of the 60 minute session. I felt very uncomfortable to speak up during this process, but since the massage while on the harder side felt good at the time, I still gave a $25 tip and paid for the 90 minute session. I asked for a receipt a few weeks later since I thought I was double charged (I was not) when checking my credit card records. If you are in the Mission Bay Area, I would recommend going elsewhere, as there are many friendlier and far better massage places to check out!
