    Bibimbap and beef crepe

Food was absolutely great! There'a nothing better than a healthy bibombap after a nice workout and the ingredients used were fresh. The banchan was amazing as well. Came in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and it wasn't too busy. OZ and Hana got us seated and served right away! Service was impeccable and great. No overbearing music, nice andnin the background; great place to eat and talk to friends! Will definitely be coming back!

New Korean restaurant in Mira Mesa. Yum!! Cute spot with warm vibes. Food was delish, very comfort food. Liked the array of bonchons, and they tasted "clean" yet still flavorful. Service was also superb! Kudos Kyla & Shelly. It was poppin' on a Monday night, so they were kept busy running all the tables. Had a great experience, and 100% would come again!

Really enjoyed this place! The bibimbap was delicious! fresh ingredients, great flavor, and generous portions. Their Yuk Jeon was amazing! Definitely don't skip that, it's a winner! It was pretty busy and crowded when we went, probably because of the rush hour dinner crowd, so there was a bit of a wait. But honestly, the food and service made it worth it. Staff was friendly and attentive even with how packed it was. Would definitely come back

Soooo delicious! Everything we ordered hit the spot. They serve you with complimentary sides and cold refreshing barley tea too! What we tried: Salt & Scallion Pork - 5/5 Garlic Eggplant - 5/5 LA Galbi with Purple Rice - 5/5 Beef Bone Soup - 5/5 The stone pots were so hot and made the perfect crispy rice that accompanied some very tasty dishes. The Salt & Scallion Pork is my favorite--I can just eat that all day. So juicy and flavorful. The Garlic Eggplant has this delicious smokiness and sweetness from how they cooked it and it was just two thumbs up. Ambiance was an ace--feels like you're eating somewhere in South Korea. Service was quick, and staff was superb! Oz and Hannah were both so incredibly attentive and helpful during our whole meal. If you're craving for some bibimbap or Korean food in general, this is the place! You have to try it. I can already see us coming back here for some dinner!

Bibimboom was much more crowded than I thought it would be! The restaurant was packed when we got there. We put our name on the waitlist, and luckily only had to wait about 30 minutes. The standout dish for me was the salt scallion pork. It came out in a stone bowl that kept it perfectly hot the entire time, and the sauce really tied everything together. The crispy rice remained crispy in the stone bowl during my whole meal. We also tried the kimchi pancake. The flavor was good, but I do wish the texture was a bit crispier. The LA Galbi comes with a side of purple rice, and it sits on a sizzling plate with onions. Some of the galbi unfortunately came out burned, which was a bit disappointing. Also, I wish the onions that it came with were more caramelized. I appreciated the complimentary barley tea. The side dishes were quickly refilled. My favorite one was the kimchi, but I feel like the spinach and bean sprouts could have been seasoned a bit more. There were only two waiters for the whole restaurant, but they did a good job balancing everything despite how busy it was. Overall, this is a solid spot if you're craving Korean food.

Bibimboom has stone, clay, and iron pot dishes. We came on a weeknight for dinner as we were craving delicious savory Korean food and were shocked at how long the line and waitlist was at 7:30 pm! Thankfully we were able to get seats indoors to sit and the wait ended up being about 30 minutes which was faster than the one hour we were expecting. Our servers were friendly and we were served cold barley tea and side dishes soon after we sat. I really like the menu at this restaurant. It is one sided and has all the available dishes laid out clearly with the type of pot. We ordered the salt and scallion pork stone pot, the Galbi and the kimchi pancake. The salt and scallion stone pot was the easy dish of the day. The rice had the perfect texture: crispy without being burned and soft on the inside. This dish was bursting with flavor. Unfortunately, my galbi had some very burnt pieces which was disappointing for a $30 dish. Overall our servers were all very friendly and refilled our side dishes and got us everything we needed but they seemed a little overworked for the volume of hungry diners coming in and out. I would come back for the delicious salt and scallion stone pot!

I love a good hot stone pot so I was looking forward to trying this spot! Came for a Mother's Day lunch and luckily we were seated right away, a line formed as we ate. We got the bibimbap and salt & scallion pork. The bibimbap had a lot of fresh veggies but I would've liked more beef and I thought the seasoning was more bland. They provided gochujang and seaweed on the side. The salt & scallion pork had more flavor but was more fatty. Service was friendly but slower since they're busy.

Came on a Sunday lunch for Mother's Day around noon. Parking was easy and there was no wait but they were quite busy. There were multiple parties waiting when we finished. Service was friendly but pretty slow and it was hard to get their attention as they were busy. The salt & scallion pork hot stone rice was flavorful but pretty fatty and came with soy sauce on the side. No vegetables but eating it with the banchan was good. The bibimbap hot stone rice came with lots of fresh veggies but not much beef and it was more bland. They did provide gochujang and seaweed on the side and offered to bring soy sauce too.

This relatively new Korean spot caught my eye, so I came here with friends to try it out. Located in Mira Mesa, it has easy parking right at the entrance. We waited about 30 minutes during dinner time--oddly enough there were empty seats but they didn't seat us right away. There were 6 of us and we ordered 6 dishes. Overall it's just average, pretty similar to other typical Korean restaurants. But their beef pancake is amazing--made with pure beef, freshly pan-fried to order, crispy outside, tender and juicy inside with no dry texture. Definitely worth a try. The menu is available in English, Chinese and Korean, super convenient.

I really loved how the menu wasn't so big. Every thing we tried was very good! James and Kyla, you were great!! Thanks so much! We're coming back!!

A Chinese hot pot restaurant formerly occupied this suite in the Mesa Shopping Center of Mira Mesa. It was recently turned into a Korean comfort food eatery, Bibimboom. I believe the owners are the same as that of Steamy Piggy which has built quite a diverse portfolio of Asian establishments across the county. The business is still in a soft opening phase. Parking in the plaza lot was fairly easy despite the multiple tenants across the two-level structure. The inside had enough tables and booths for around 50 diners. I was surprised to encounter a waitlist when I showed up during their final hour of operation on a weeknight. I noticed only two workers in the dining area, and multiple tables had not been bussed yet. They sorely needed another set of hands to assist with clearing tables and/or seating customers. The current menu sheet featured four entrees cooked in stone pots, two soups boiled in clay pots, and three items sizzled on cast iron plates. A trio of appetizers and one dessert rounded out the food offerings. I chose the Bibimbap which was the first of the stone pots. While I waited for that to be prepared, two banchan dishes (kimchi, pickled cucumbers) were brought to my table. Within 15 minutes, a very hot stone pot containing white rice as a base was delivered by a worker. The other contents were marinated beef, carrots, greens, mushrooms, bean sprouts, cucumbers, and an egg yolk. I mixed the ingredients together and discovered that some of the rice was crispy from being burnt by the stone surface. A side of gochujang sauce was provided to add more flavor. The amount of beef could have been more generous for the price of $21.50. While my food was okay, the main issue as noted by others was the service level. They need to staff appropriately in order to handle a full dining room. It should not have taken half an hour for me to get a seat when there were unoccupied tables that weren't turned over yet. Until this aspect is improved, I limited my rating of Bibimboom to three stars.

LA Galbi Kimchi pancake Bibimbap Beef Bone Soup
    Jessica T.

Service: the waiters were nice and welcoming. There seems to be only couple waiters for the whole restaurant so it's understandable that it takes a bit to wave the waiter down The vibes: The restaurant is fairly new and aesthetically pleasing, very Instagramable, The food: I had high expectations as this is a new restaurant and first impression matters. The galbi was overpriced, small portion for the price of $30, and uneven sear. The kimchi pancake was crispy on the edges, flavor was great but soggy in the middle, honestly looked like a cheese pizza when the waiter brought it out. The beef bone soup? Portion was considered a side rather than an entrée... The bibimbap was nothing too special as there was way to much rice, not enough sauce as they give u such a small amount on the side and overall could be better seasoned. I'm glad I gave this restaurant a try but sad to say it doesn't meet my expectations.

It was fairly oily though so I had to press out some of that oil using paper towels. Spicy chicken entree item was really nice. Not too spicy and it also had some veggies in there which I appreciate. Sauce itself was delicious and I think the only downside is that there was not as many large pieces of chicken so it was hard to tell what was chicken and what was rice cakes. Friend and husband definitely enjoyed the beef bulgogi. I only tasted a little and it was definitely good. I was really excited about the Hot Stone Bibimbap, but it didn't deliver as much. Rice on the side was fairly crispy which was nice, but overall I think it was missing a little something. The Bibimbap sauce they gave on the side was a 10/10 though!

First off, there is free parking available, just circle around the building until you see a garage entrance for retail parking. Two hours for free! Let me first explain the aesthetics of this place. Clean and modern with mid century feel accented with greenery throughout. Please note that they won't seat you until most of your party is present. We came here for Happy Hour which was from 4-6pm from Tuesday to Sunday! This is fantastic that HH includes the weekend!!!! To start, got a wellness shot which had a meld of juices and ginger. A great drink to ready your palate. For cocktails, I tried the Suika Spritz, which was refreshing! The Absolutely Pho-nomenal definitely tasted like cold Pho broth but spiked. It wasn't my favorite drink, but glad I tried it nonetheless. Of course we ordered the $1 oysters, and ordered all three - Baja, Pacific Northwest, & East Coast. It came with some Asian fusion sauces to dress our oysters. My fave was the Baja as these were the freshest! All three were smooth and non briny. On the HH menu we also tried - Bulgogi Birria Vampiro - Tender meat with bulgogi seasoned beef on top of a tostada. Really liked the meld of the two cultures in this dish. Duck Liver Mousse - Comes with rustic bread & crème fraiche. Very duck forward. I liked this because it was rich with flavor. Stone Crab Taco - Loved the nod to Loganisa in this taco! This was by far, my favorite protein dish on the HH menu!!!! Regular Menu - Mango Nasturium Kimchi Salad - I absolutely loved this vibrant and fresh dish!!!! I had to go back for second and thirds! Shishito Peppers with Bonito Flakes - This was definitely a fun and flavorful dish with lots of umami. Dessert - Hotteok and Vanilla Ice Cream - this was my favorite dessert! The pancakes were flaky and delicious!! Bonbunja Tiramisu - Beware! This has a strong coffee taste. It reminded of the strength and flavor profile of a Vietnamese coffee. I can't believe it's not cheesecake - Definitely a mix of a brûlée but with a cheesecake flavor. Confusing but works lol. We met the executive chef, Kyler, who explained and served some of dishes we ordered. The entire staff was so accommodating and even reminded us if we needed our parking validated! Our water never ran empty and our dishes were promptly taken away as we finished. Definitely a place to visit during HH since they offer amazing food and cocktail choices.
