We started going to The Pediatric Center after transferring from another practice, and it has been…read moresuch a refreshing change. The office is well-organized, the staff is consistently friendly, and the environment is clean and welcoming. We really appreciate the separation of well and sick visit areas -- it's a thoughtful touch that gives extra peace of mind. Everyone we've encountered has been so kind to our 1.5-year-old, which helps him feel completely at ease during visits. They genuinely interact with the kids and make the experience positive from start to finish. I recently had to call on a weekend and was connected with a nurse who was incredibly helpful and thorough in answering my questions. That kind of care really stands out. We see Dr. Diane Landram, and she is absolutely wonderful. She takes the time to listen, offers helpful and up-to-date information, and never makes you feel rushed or dismissed. This is exactly what pediatric care should look like -- highly recommend!

We started going here about 5 years ago. The doctors and staff used to be wonderful. However…read morerecently the quality of service has degraded, particularly with the nurses who answer the phone. They are snippy, impatient, and rude. While we like our doctor, who continues to practice there, we often have to deal with the nursing staff on the phone for tele-health type questions about illness and having school forms completed. In the past the nurses have been so kind and helpful but lately it has been an unpleasant experience all around. During the past few encounters I've found the nurses to be quite demeaning, impatient, and condescending. While we have had a positive experience with the doctor, we are looking to switch to another practice due to the poor quality of the nursing staff.

I was turned away from the office after I had proof that I had a standing appointment. The doctor would not honor the appointment because the front office lady said she didnt see the appointment on the schedule. Told me I had to wait two hours just to be seen. I left and took my son to urgent care he ended up having pnemonia. This was the second instance of this happening to us. We deserve better as long time patients.

I would never recommend this place to ANYONE after how my family was treated during this pandemic…read more Here is my email that I sent directly to them (of course with no response, just like all of my calls and messages): It truly saddens me to have to write this email and take these steps, however, the way that my family has been treated by your office and staff during this global pandemic is unacceptable. Last week, I received a discharge form from your office stating that we were being dismissed due to missed appointments. However, I have given this office over a year of my business, and also referred 2 of my co-workers who are currently attending this office with their children (and they will be unenrolling). It is unfathomable to me that an office would dismiss infants in the middle of a global pandemic. Yes, we have missed appointments, as I am the caretaker of 4 children and an elder and this pandemic has caused a variety of inconveniences for us, including childcare and transportation. I cannot believe that we would not receive grace and compassion from our pediatrician, of all people. Not once was I warned or "received a letter" (as the office manager Carolyn said I should have received) stating that we could be discharged if we missed another appointment. That is protocol at every other establishment I have frequented, and apparently at your establishment as well, however, it was not followed. Also, it states on your website policy that missed appointments will result in a fee, NOT in a dismissal. We were never charged a fee either. If you all are not following your own policy, how is it my fault as a patient? To add insult to injury, when I called you all to gain clarity on the situation, I was met with your office manager who was unprofessional, rude, and sarcastic. She did nothing on the phone but reiterate 7 times that we were dismissed, the decision was final, and "it's my job to figure out what to do next". How dare an office manger speak to a client that way? Then when I came in person, Carolyn was way more humble, but still problematic because she was dismissive as if my voice no longer mattered. I am a firm believer in your employees are a direct representation of your business and if that is the face of your business, I am glad that my family has already enrolled with another office. As an educational leader, if I ever spoke to or treated my students/families how we have been treated during this crisis, I would be out of a job. The main reason why I signed my family up is because your establishment is black-owned, but with this treatment, I cannot tell. All in all, I am disgusted by how this entire situation was handled and I will be filing a complaint with the Maryland Board of Physicians, the Better Business Bureau, as well as leaving reviews about my experience of all of my social media platforms and medical review platforms. I believe that this is necessary as I could not even be given a telephone conversation or any follow-up from you both during such a troubling incident with your staff member, but got tons of conversation when I was paying my money to you all. Hopefully I will prevent another family from being treated so horribly during such turbulent times in this country. I stand by the fact that no employee should treat a patient in the manner I was treated OR become upset at the reaction from the patient for such uncouth behavior.

My daughter hurt her wrist enough to need a splint. Her insurance unfortunately all of a sudden required a referral for an orthopedic. I called Arundel Peds to get them to fax one. They wouldn't because she was considered "a new patient" because she hadn't been in a few years. My daughter was in a lot of pain, and really didn't need to be poked at. They wouldn't fax a referral even though I explained to she was in no condition to be seen. The receptionist have/had no bedside manner! When we took her they insisted she get shots in both arms (including the sore arm) really??? (Her dad took her or id off insisted to wait) Then when she saw the doctor we were told that a well visit was not even needed. So put my kid through more unnecessary misery instead of faxing a referral. We will be changing insurances and going elsewhere!

I was on bed rest and and couldn't attend, however, my husband and mother loved it upon first site! This office is very colorful and extremely welcoming to new patient and families!! My daughter has been a patient since 2009. They came to the hospital when she was first born and were very knowledgeable about the process! My daughter was a patient of Dr. Jobes, who left this practice! We simply adored her and were sad that she was leaving! However, we had to choose another primary in the office and were pleased to with all of the options present! All of the docs and nurses are very knowledgeable and are very good with children and babies! My daughter is not afraid at all to come to the office for a visit! Even for shots, they are quick and get em done! We totally adored the young lady Vanessa who assisted in our daughter's appointments prior to her turning 3! She cared very much for our little one which made it very easy to come back and feel good about the practice! The office is very colorful with a sick room and a well room to keep the children separate if they are ill! There are televisions that have are on children programs to entertain the children while they wait! There are books and toys as well! I simply love this office! I pass many offices to go to this one! A choice I do not regret!

She really takes the time to make sure I feel confident taking care of my kids, and she's really, really good with them: patient, calming, and sweet. My two year old loves her. I think she's also a really top-notch diagnostician. My older daughter and I were really sick last year, and I'd been to my GP a few times for it, and they couldn't figure out what it was, but Dr. Welman knew what it was right away (and my doctor has been voted in the "top 100 in northern VA"...so, he's no slouch). I was a bit worried about finding a pediatrician that would be on the same page as me "philosophy" wise. Dr. Welman seems like she understands and takes into account the national recommendations for pediatric care (like for vaccines, etc.) but is also very practical and works with you to get the best care for your kids--like, I sheepishly admitted that I've been sleeping with the baby in my bed, even though the american academy of pediatrics says this is a heinous crime, and Dr. Welman was willing to talk it through with me and talk about how we can all sleep safely, without being narrowminded or judgmental. The Casey clinic is also an OB practice so while you're sitting in the waiting room, you're mostly around healthy people rather than sitting in a room full of people that are contagious with who-knows-what. I'm a bit of a germophobe and I don't freak out (too much) in the clinic's waiting room. It's not super kid-friendly (like, no toy areas, etc.) so you should probably plan to bring something to amuse your kids while you wait for your appointment, but honestly I'd rather do that than have a big area full of toys that sick kids go cough on. We've had to wait a while for some of our appointments, but we're usually running late so I'm guessing they take another patient while they're waiting for us. Today we were on time and they saw us pretty quickly.

I arrived early to complete paperwork. We were called back into an exam room around 8:20, not sure if this was by a doctor or a nursing staff. This woman never once smiled, introduced herself, or anything like that. At 8:30, she had me fill out a form to get my daughter's prior immunization records. At 8:50, she came back for the paper. By this time, the only thing that had been done for my daughter was her weight and height. I waited until 9 and decided to leave. I just didn't feel like this was the right practice for my family. This place is slow, unfriendly, and dirty. Picture of the floor in the exam room for reference. So gross. When I left, I told one of the staff at the front desk that I wasn't happy with the experience and brought up the fact I had been waiting quite a while and how the dirty the floor was. I was told they would cancel my appointment. Customer service doesn't seem to be a strong suit for this business. If you're looking for a pediatrician, keep looking!
