Here to add another 5 star review! I don't know what I can add that hasn't already been said, but as first time parents our experience has been nothing short of amazing! I think I most appreciate how attentive everyone is - we are NEVER rushed, all questions (which we have a ton) are always answered thoroughly, and everyone from the front desk to the doctors have treated our little guy with affection and care. We've only seen Dr. Rittenbach so far and absolutely love her! She has a wonderful bedside manner and is so easy to talk to. She explains things in layman terms and eases a lot of our fears...we seriously look forward to each appointment because we know we're going to leave more equipped to care for our baby. Speaking of being well equipped, Fabiola (lactation specialist) is 100% the ONLY reason I continued to breastfeed! We were having all kinds of issues in the beginning and Fabiola patiently worked with us over and over until we got the hang of it. I think we saw her 3 times in the first 10 days of being home! She is a lifesaver and I'm so thankful we had her help at the beginning of our journey! read more

We came to this practice after we had our second son (home birth). Our previous provider was giving us a hard time setting up an appointment for the newborn because "he hasn't been seen?!" Panic! He was born at home, perfectly healthy and our midwife + nurse midwife had already seen him. Long story short, they kicked us out of the practice, though we were very happy with our care up until then. Einstein set us up with an appointment the next day and we haven't looked back. The doctors are all amazing and so is the team. No judgement, no pushing meds. The kids love seeing the doctors and NPs every time they go. read more

This practice never ceases to amaze me. They are so organized and always have well-thought-out processes. Needless to say their telehealth platform couldn't be easier! Today my daughter experienced her first fever since the pandemic. I was able to quickly get an appointment with the nurse practitioner, May. As usual, she was cheerful and put our minds at ease. She always explains her clinical thought process so well. We were quickly set up for drive thru COVID and strep test. Even my daughter was impressed The whole process was just smooth! We love Dr. Rittenbach and everyone else (we've seen a few of the clinicians at different times) and everyone we have met has been absolutely lovely, compassionate, and engaged. Incompetent staff and administration! They don't know what they're doing or how they're running their practice. When I learned I was pregnant, I called the office two separate times asking to join the practice for my newborn. I was told to call back in 4 months. I called back 3 months later (1 month earlier than I was told) and I was asked to submit my form. I did the same day. Two weeks later I get a phone call from someone who spent 15 minutes describing their practice and next steps for when the baby arrives. Then merely minutes after the call ended I receive an email that all spots are filled. What in the world transpired over the course of literally 3 minutes?! So I called the office to better understand how it could be possible for "all the spots to be filled" when I called 9 months in advance, submitted my forms earlier than told, and just spoke with someone about next steps. Reasonable, rational people would appreciate an explanation after following the office's directions to a T. The woman did not offer an apology or care to explain the process. Rather she hung up the phone on me! So unnecessarily rude and bizarre. I don't know about their doctors, but the staff and administration are awful. Note: I come from a family of physicians and I deplore flippant reviews of doctors offices. But the degree to which the staff was rude, gave me the runaround, and wasted my time was beyond the realm of normal. read more

I love Einstein Pediatrics! As a new mom with perfectionistic tendencies, I'm not the easiest parent to deal with; I ask a LOT of questions and need a LOT of reassurance. Instead of dismissing my worries, brushing them off, and/or rushing me out the door or off the phone, the staff at Einstein Pediatrics takes each concern seriously and responds with expertise, empathy, patience, and care. At just seven weeks old, my baby girl has been to Einstein's office far more than the standard number of times for her age--most often for weight checks to reassure me she's doing ok! Most of our appointments have been with May, whose positive outlook is immensely reassuring, and who helped us uncover a milk protein intolerance/allergy in our little girl. We've also seen Dr. Martin twice--once for a meet and greet when I was still pregnant (how cool that they do that!), and once for a check-up; and we've seen Dr. Nguyen once. They are all fantastic. Dr. Martin started this practice with the goal of creating a place that puts the patients and their families first--meaning a place that has time for every nervous new mom who walks through the door. I can say with confidence he achieved this goal. read more

Update: my kids are now a few years older - both full fledged teenagers and both are still comfortable with Dr. Martin and his entire staff. My daughter decided she would prefer a female doctor and the newer doctors include a number of female physicians. She found one she really likes, and she has switched over to her with success. The newer docs still consult the other doctors in the practice when helpful, so Dr. Martin is still part of my daughter's care. We couldn't be happier with this practice. Dr. Martin is part of our community and understands what it's like to live here. He's kind, caring, and gives his very best to his patients. He's a real small town doc. Dr. Martin has been caring for my children for the last 11 or 12 years, since he arrived in Vienna. His new office is efficient and very caring. We had been patiently awaiting his return, and we have not been disappointed. We have already had two well child check ups and a few sick visits. As always, Dr. Martin listens carefully to our concerns, takes his time, and and is very patient with parents and children, alike. My early teen daughter was initially looking to switch to a female doctor, but upon reflection feels very comfortable with Dr. Martin and did not want to forge a new relationship. We have had a few unusual medical situations, and Dr. Martin is not afraid to consult specialists and other professionals when he isn't sure about something. I love his humility and basic kindness. Ego doesn't get in the way of excellent care. Finally, his office staff members and nurses are friendly and accommodating. When my son needed a blood draw, for which he was terrified, the staff did a great job being patient and talking him through it. It was still difficult, but it could have been much harder without their gentle touch. read more

TLDR: at bottom! The bomb! Let me start with we are first time parents and we just want to do everything right and little things just gets us nervous. When we were in our 3rd trimester we started to look for a pediatrician and we came across Einstein Pediatrics. We noted that it is little bit out of the way but like the middle point from D.C (wife's workplace) to our home (Centreville). Browsing through their website, there was a newborn class. We saw a YouTube video and a bubbly person came and went over information about taking care about newborn. That energetic and bubbly person was Nurse Practitioner May. That was one of major factor in booking a meet and greet! At meet and greet we had Dr.Rittenbach! She did not disappoint either with high energy and being able to answer our questions. Then the ultimate day came and the baby was born! We made our first appt. and went in. We got May! She was very accommodating and very high in energy. Even though we felt that we were failing, she reassured us that we are doing a great job. Her personality was very helpful in being encouraging and made us feel that we were on the right track. Her humor also compliment her personality and helped us feel very relaxed. We did have a small issue though, not at fault of Einstein Pediatrics, but we got referred to do lab work down for our kid's jaundice. We ended up going to Lab Corp and getting his blood drawn. Later in the day, we got a call from Einstein asking if we went to the lab. I said we did. Then they looked into it further. Long story short they that the specimen was lost at first, but later found that the blood work was never run, for whatever the reason was. However, through all that we got multiple calls from Einstein letting us know the status of the missing lab work. Even though it was NOT their fault, they kept following up. Even though we were furious, with Lab Corp, them keeping us in loop did give us sense of comfort. We just want to say thank you for everything and we are excited to go back (who would ever be excited to go to the doctors) next week for the 1mo check up!! TLDR: Need a practice that is compassionate, lively, comforting, and takes care of patients with sense of humor, look no further Einstein Pediatrics is a place to go! read more

Just brought our daughter for her first two visits and am absolutely blown away by how great this practice is! Saw Dr. Martin, May Peng, and have been putting in work with Fabiola for lactation help. This is like the pediatrics dream team. It is also very obvious that everyone in the office cares so deeply about our daughter. From the service on the phone, to the welcome in the office, to the care in the room: phenomenal. What can I say about Dr. Martin that people haven't said already? He's a friendly physician, knowledgeable, research based, and old school. Being a daughter of a doctor, I usually have unrealistic expectations of physician care. Dr. Martin exceeds my expectations. I love the fact that he's up to date on the latest information, and doesn't simply go with standard care of practice. He also don't over-medicate! We use to see him at Advanced Pediatrics, and were eagerly watching where he would moved to next. So happy he opened up his own practice. You won't be disappointed in his standard of care. If you are looking for a pediatrician's office, look no further. All those words and phrases describe this place to a "T." I came to this practice when my baby was a newborn two years ago, and with me being a first time mom I did a lot of research. She had her first visit at a place closer to my house because my husband and I didn't find a good doctor yet that we wanted to take her too, and the first place made me feel dismissed and that because I was a new mom, all my concerns weren't valid and everything was "normal." But my first visit at Einstein Pediatrics with Dr. Rittenbach, she made me feel heard and really valued as a mom. She took care of my daughter and addressed all of our concerns. She also paid attention to my husband and made him apart of the visit (husband's are too often overlooked). I have seen all providers for either a well check (when Dr. Rittenbach wasn't available) or sick visit and I love them all! You can tell they communicate and read your chart before seeing you. The continuity of care is great. I travel from Woodbridge and will have all my children seen here as long as they never close! I went to Einstein Pediatrics for their newborn class. I HIGHLY recommend! It was only an hour, but I learned SO MUCH from that class. The instructor, May, was so full of energy - which was nice because the class was after a full day of work (convenient)! I still have her voice in my head every time I put my little one in a car seat and make sure her harness is fitted correctly. I will definitely come back for a refresher for my next LO. The facility was clean and the staff was kind and friendly. I'm a first time mom and full of questions. I am so glad I found them. We moved to Virginia and had horrible experience with other pediatricians. All the doctors and staff who work here are very supportive and friendly. Had an opportunity to get a two year well baby check up done by Dr Martin himself and he spent almost an hour with us explaining different milestones and answering our questions/concerns. He did not try to over indulge with my baby at first and gave him sometime to acknowledge that he (Doctor) is one of us. Towards the end my son went and gave hi-fi to the doctor, smiled, let him do the check up and eventually waved him bye. Dr Martin is extremely busy to meet on a regular day but other doctors here are equally good. Dr Segura: Extremely sweet lady. Every time we meet she makes my son feel comfortable. She never rushed us out and answers all our questions. We love her. After we told her my son has egg allergy and throws up everytime he eats products which have any egg contents she mentioned she will give us names of the doctors who can help us get rid of it but somehow missed it while we were in the clinic. But she called me next day and apologized and provided all the information. Dr Nguyen: We met him for one of our sick visit. This was the first time we were scheduled with Dr Nguyen and we were unsure of how it would go. But as soon as Dr Nguyen entered the room he listened to all the symptoms my son was going through and gave us some recommendations. He had a friendly conversation with my son and said he needs to do PhD and when he has girlfriend he needs to bring her to meet Dr Nguyen :) and my son answered yes to both the things :). May : She has lot of information to share and can explain you in very simple terms. We love her. This clinic is the BEST... Even after hours in case of emergency they are available to answer any question over the phone. I had to call couple of times and Dr Martin was on the line. He made sure to calm me down because I panicked after my son was throwing up continuously since we were not aware of his egg allergy as an infant. read more

I am very happy after our first visit for my son's wellness check up. My son has a significant amount of ear wax in both of his ears, and we have visited multiple pediatrician offices due to our frequent moving. For almost two years, none is able to clean it on-site, because the ear wax was hardened. Yesterday, during our first visit, Dr. Martin and his team washed my son's ears on site during the wellness checkup, and pulled out the ear wax with one touch! This totally exceeded my expectation! I thought that we were just going to hear the same old advice from other pediatricians, such as "putting ear drops to his ear before your next visit!". I am impressed to see that his team took the risk and time, and showed the proficiency in his work and care for his patient. Highly recommend! read more

This is the best doctor's office I have ever dealt with. It's not hard to get an appointment (and they have early/late hours which allow my husband to attend checkups without missing work), we're seen on time, and the doctors are so patient with all of my questions. My favorite thing about this practice is how Dr. Martin and staff are quick to respond by email or phone if I have a question outside of an appointment. This is an absolute godsend if you are a new parent equipped with a smartphone, a healthy sense of worry, and a total lack of medical knowledge. Here are just a couple of examples: 1) After I met with Dr. Martin but before my baby was even born, I had a question about whether she should have a particular routine procedure in the hospital based on her family history. I called the office and Dr. Martin himself got on the phone and talked me through the decision, providing thoughtful pros and cons to help me make an informed choice. I had never paid this man a dime and yet he gave freely of his time to help me with this question! 2) I emailed a nonurgent question to the office and he got back to me within a few hours - on New Year's Day! 3) Another nonurgent question came up at my daughter's latest checkup with Dr. Kaiser, and she said she would look into it for me. Within about an hour of my leaving the office, she had brainstormed the issue with Dr. Martin and personally called me up to share their recommendation. 4) My usual pharmacy didn't have a medication my daughter needed, so I called around and found one that did. I called the office and within about 30 seconds, they had gotten Dr. Martin to send the rx to the new pharmacy so I could get my daughter's medication without delay. Everybody in that office seems to genuinely love children, which should probably be a given in a pediatrician's office, but they also have a gift for dealing with worried new mothers :) I never feel silly or blown off even when I am worked up about some issue they probably see every single day. I can't say enough about how reassuring it is to entrust my daughter's care to such a wonderful group of professionals. I recommend this practice to anyone who asks. read more

Dr. Martin caught my son's incomplete Kawasaki disease at a treatable stage when he was 5. He is now 20, has no lasting effects, and is a rising Junior In college. I shudder to think how life could have been different for my son if Dr. Martin has not been so proactive at the time. I am writing this review to let patients know what a gem of a practice they are in, and how brilliant Dr. Martin is. Thank you for giving my child the gift of a healthy life. He is studying linguistics with a minor in computer science and is already fluent in both German and Japanese. We are so proud of him and so SO grateful to Dr. Martin. read more

I recently moved to Oakton and had a baby and am so glad I came across this practice. Both Dr. Martin and Dr. Kaiser are so wonderful that for the first time EVER I actually don't have a preference as to who they schedule my daughter with! I never feel rushed and I feel that both doctors always listen carefully to my questions and concerns. And to top it off, their lactation consultant, Fabiola is amazing -- she literally changed my life by showing me the correct latch which allowed for my daughter to get better feeds and I wasn't in pain anymore!! Also I love that when you call and need immediate advice, it is ACTUALLY Dr. Martin or Dr. Kaiser that answers the phone to give you advice -- it's not someone you've never met before and they don't tell you they'll call you back. That's unheard of when it comes to practices. Also we have chosen to follow the Dr. Sears vaccine schedule and they've been very supportive. read more

We've been with Dr. Martin since my son was born. When he left adv ped, we really didn't know who to see. For a while, we just directly went to urgent care. Until one day, we bumped into him at Costco's, and learned his new practice. We immediately transferred our son's records and continued to see him. He is very patient and willing to listen to our concerns. He handles procedures very gently (it's very important to us as our son could be quite stubborn sometimes). We never felt to be pushed or rushed into anything. His new staffs are also very caring no matter if it's via phone, by email or on site. It would be nice if there could be walk-in hours, but we understand his schedule could be really packed, and most of time we can still make a same day appointment by calling. read more

Dr. Martin has been the pediatrician for both our boys (past 8 years). We sought him out at Advanced, were shocked to see him leave, then waited and waited for him to come back and were very happy that he did. For us, he provides the great mix of hands on experience but also very tactical and study/fact based analysis. He gives us both sides and isn't afraid to discuss a diagnosis or recent studies and trends. He genuinely enjoys caring for kids and it really shows. It doesn't hurt that he's able to relate so readily to the challenges that parents of young children face daily. It really matters in those situations when you're very worried but also want to know as much as you can so that you can understand what is happening, not just pick up a script and be on your way. Recently he saw us on a Sunday morning (after a very early Sunday morning sick call). He took his time, was great (as always) with our son, let us know what was going on, made sure things were right. It's just one example of many that we've seen over the years of how he helps our boys (and mostly ourselves) navigate their health which is pretty scary sometimes. Incredible practice with professionals you can trust. Dr. Martin has been my boys' doctor since my twins were born (more than 12 years ago now). He helped us keep them healthy failure-to-thrive issues, many hospitalizations, asthma, allergies, infections, eczema and regular illnesses. One has severe dyslexia and Dr. Martin helped me find the right interventions that took my son from way behind to on grade level. Dr. Martin has been a physician to my boys and a counselor to my husband and I through thick and thin. Everyone he's hired has provided similar care. Zero complaints about him or his practice. First of all, the receptionist, Donii, is stellar. Friendly, caring and comforting. I Absolutely love her. Second of all, after being a year at Capital Area Pediatrics and having nothing but stress, headaches long wait times and having my 3 children misdiagnosed a number of times, I came to Einstein Pediatrics. I actually called Dr. Martin's office in tears yesterday because a Doctor at Capital Area didn't even listen to me, didn't even do a swab on my daughters rash to test it for anything, and told me I was crazy. Well, Einstein Pediatrics got me in right away, and the minute the nurse practitioner, May, saw the rash, she knew what to do. Not only did she listen to me, but her demeanor was so caring and actually shocking to me in a good way! I'm so used to people in the medical field being cold, but not May. She even consoled me as I sobbed over my daughters rash. Honestly, half my tears were out of relief that she was so on top of things too! May knew in one look what my daughter needed! And yes, she actually tested my daughter too unlike the other Doctor who was only concerned about listing off her credentials and how she knew better than me. Needless to say, I can't say enough about Einstein Pediatrics! The atmosphere is clean, inviting and accommodating! I always struggle with my stroller since I have kids 1 year apart which requires a long double stroller. There's easy parking, an elevator, and plenty of room in the waiting area (that you hardly have to wait in because they are respectful of appointment times and start right on time) and the walls are decorated beautifully with artwork and themes! We love Dr. Martin. That's why we followed him to own practice (BTW, his new space is really nice!). He has an excellent bedside manner with patients and parents alike. He takes time to answer my questions. I wish all of our docs were as thorough, kind, and contentious as he is. His nurse, Fabiola, is exceptional. I have a child who is very squimish about shots. In the past, it's taken a team of nurses to hold her down for her shots (not my preferred method). She asked for 5 minutes alone with her and she was able to get her calm and give her the shot with only a little whimper. I couldn't believe it. read more

I have two kids, 7 and 10 years old. We have been seeing Dr. Martin for 8 years. Even though we loved the practice where Dr. Martin previously was practicing, when he opened his own practice there were no second thoughts about moving my kids to Einstein. My kids have had most of the typical illnesses but some things that were a bit atypical and I always felt like I was getting the best care with Dr. Martin and was in good hands. We have been with the practice since it opened in October and have had frequent visits because of persistent coughs. We have NEVER had to wait long and always can get in to see Dr. Martin quickly. Of course, that is not the most improtran thing to me. I would wait to make sure they see Dr. Martin. I can not recommned him enough. read more
