it has only been three months but i love this practice! i toured three, maybe four, offices before i decided that this one was the one for me. it was the last one i visited and happened to be the closest to my home. dr. ulen was the one who gave us the presentation and the doctor who we have seen the most. she is great and we feel very comfortable with her. everyone has been really nice and helpful. it feels like family in there. our appointments have run very much on time. i have used a lot of their services including the after hour nurse line (eek!), met with their lactation consultant, and consulted with their GI nurse specialist. i love that they have long hours and weekend hours. this practice is pro-vaccination (to each their own and i will leave it at that). they have electronic medical records that you can access on your own. we had our one month appointment with dr. schwartz right before his retirement. he is such a sweet man and i wish there were more people on earth like him. he collects beanie babies to give out to the kiddos! read more

First time there. Took our daughter for a sick appointment. She was feeling better that day, but we explained what we were concerned about and asked for help and recommendations. The NP that saw us was absolutely dismissive, it felt like she was barely listening. That visit was a waste of time, money, and a complete disrespect for us parents and for the patient. We are taking our kid to the ER today, as the NP refused to do/send bloodwork, and our daughter has a fever again. There is clearly something going on. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. read more

Was a great practice when we started with them a couple years ago. Actually multiple members of our family have brought their children to this practice for years. We especially like Dr. Smith. Unfortunately not every provider is satisfactory here and we have had a terrible experience over the last few months. There is a clear turnover of pediatricians here, and that in itself is a red flag. They don't respect or value our family's time or health as they used to. Members of the "business" even disrespected members of our family when we were trying to find a solutions to the aforementioned issues. Find another practice, you will thank me later. read more

Place is terrible with appointments. I've been here 3 times for vaccines and each time we have had an appointment and it's taken longer than 50 minutes of waiting. When you have two kids it's hard for them to wait an hour. I've had to go up to the receptionists and check three times. The first time I am told I should be called shortly (about 30 minutes in). And then the second time they tell us they are drawing up the vaccine (about 40 minutes in). The third time, she goes back and never comes back (about 50 minutes in). Finally, we get called about an hour in. But people just coming in after us (and saying they are coming in for flu and covid vaccine) get called before us. I'm 90% sure it their improper checking in of patients. Someone who has an appointment should have priority. I even heard another lady that said she was a walk in and she was worried she wasnt going to be fit in today but her daughter and her went in and out before use. I even brought it up to the nurse doing the shots. I asked her if the wait is typically an hour for the shots; she said "no but everyone tried to get in because of the holiday." I told her that makes sense but they should be prioritized last. End of the day; I got in 5-10 minutes before my appointment time. I left an hour and 20 minutes after. Definitely going to look for a new place for my kids. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice, fine because we have been going here for almost a years; fool me three times. Shame on you. I've also done walk ins for sick appointments which are better but still about 40 minute waits (this is more understandable). read more

We've been customers of Advanced Pediatrics for 24 years. It was a different office when Dr. Schwartz was running it. Now it's not providing the same quality and getting worse every year. Hiring subpar doctors and rude staff, not respecting parents' time, charging extra for services others don't charge for, very poor patient portal quality, etc... Ever since Covid, this place has been appalling. All they want to do still, is test the kids for Covid, no matter the symptoms. My daughter is still scarred from the very first Covid swab taken in the parking lot at Advanced Pediatrics- the result was negative and she was still feeling sick but we got no follow up. Once the results come back negative, they simply call you back to tell you that, after which all they want to do is hang up, before addressing the still remaining issues, or trying to figure out what the problem actually is. We never get the same doctor and we never get any real answers to questions, they just "rule things out", and then we get no follow up when all their unnecessary tests come back negative. The kids are still sick, but we only get to know what it is not...This time, my kid who had already been diagnosed with strep and was on an antibiotic but still had a cough days later, got tested for whooping cough, even though even I could tell it did not sound like it. What bothers me is that the doctor prescribed another antibiotic for whooping cough to be taken on top of the one we were already on, before the actual results came back. When asked what we would do if the results came back negative, she said "you stop taking it". I have never in my life heard a doctor say that it is Ok to play with antibiotics and not finish a cycle once you start them. I am a mother, so good thing I did not listen to this "professional", because, of course, the results for whooping cough came back negative. My kid was still sick but I got was a call saying "congrats, your kid doesn't have whooping cough", which was an imaginary diagnosis that no one had asked for to begin with and made no sense. I asked what the follow up is, why she is still coughing but the nurse had no actual answer or suggestions. I am writing this review as a mother to all other mothers- please stay away from this place, they are a business and have no real answers other than what their computer (or WebMD) suggests to them. I am definitely not taking my kids back there and I am sorry for all the time and money I spent getting no actual medical answers. read more

Both of my sons have attended this clinic since birth. We have been in this practice for almost 5 years since it was the nearest clinic to us. Pros: the ability to quickly get an appointment, a convenient portal. Cons: high turnover of doctors, strong pressure about vaccines, and unreasonable and harmful to children. Physicians care less about the individual patient and more about the "vaccine plan". Long wait before any scheduled visit. Doctors do not listen much to the concerns of the parent and do not prescribe the necessary procedures. So with my eldest child, a pre- rickets disease condition was missed, as well as adenoids requiring surgery. Although I complained about the condition of the child. The last straw was that I asked to fill out a health form for entering the preschool for my youngest, they took a fee from me, but did not put all the signatures. The argument is the lack of a vaccine against hepatitis B, which is transmitted through sexual relations or blood transfusions. As a result, they took the money for filling out the form, but I don't have the form in my hands. When I requested a refund - they refused, because they filled out the rigging form. But only the form is with them and in fact the service was not provided. I changed the practice and am very happy that I will not be the usual "cash cow" to replenish the budget. And my children will receive an individual and careful approach to their health. I am not recommending this practice. They don't care about children's health. read more

Went there last minute for my daughter because she wasn't feeling well. The walk in clinic let us see Dr Jander and she took great care of her. We didn't have an appointment because we thought if we got there before they closed we would be ok. I'm grateful for the staff that helped us that day. Took my daughter for the first time here today - her old pediatricians office shut down , and after searching for weeks to find a pediatrician- I'm so glad I found advanced pediatrics. All the nurses and doctors were so kind, friendly , and attentive. They answered all my questions thoroughly , and not once did we feel rushed. Can no longer recommend this practice. It was great seven year ago and was worth a typically 25 minute drive for us. The walk-in urgent care clinic was super useful for us as new parents, the doctors are good and knowledgeable, but the overall service has been gradually deteriorating since. Now, if you have a sick kid, they claim it's fine to look inside the kid's mouth via Zoom. If you insist on a personal visit, they are seen by an assistant, not even a doctor, in a cold parking lot. (Billed to insurance as a doctor visit, of course.) I understand, Covid and all, but everyone is vaccinated and that no longer flies as an excuse. Other practices have resumed urgent care and walk in clinic services, AP says it will be a while. Another time you take a kid there -- with an appointment, for an allergy test that takes a well known and finite amount of time -- and he has to lay half naked for an hour on the examination table waiting for tests because the doctor is too busy (she said there was just another patient, no emergencies) and no one bothers to even stop by or tell you how long the wait would be. Not much of an apology and the test was botched and the time was totally wasted after all the wait, too. When they opened an online portal for records a few months ago, they didn't ask for any consent before dumping your kids' medical information on an internet server with an application that doesn't follow basic standard security practices, such as logging out old sessions. We are changing providers, bye AP. Edit: downgrading to one star because they promised not to bill for the allergy test they completely messed up, but waited a couple of weeks and billed for it anyway. Edit 2: Lori, I don't have a billing issue or a problem with a $20 copay. I have an issue with integrity of your practice and unfortunately that's unlikely to be fixed with a phone call. read more

The doctors are good, when you can see them (more often than not a sick visit, and even Wellness checks) were with Nurse Practitioners. That's fine, but I don't like having a Doctor listed for my child's medical contact when that doctor has seen my child once in the last 3 years. However, that is not the reason for my One-Star Review: that is because the practice pressured my family into procedures that my children did not need, glossed over the requirements of the procedure and how it worked, and then refused to compromise (even to the point of the CEO calling me directly) when we balked on the procedure and the exorbitant cost. We are leaving for a new pediatrician as soon as possible. read more

Sitting in your car in a parking lot with advanced pediatrices, 225.00. Covid mini clinic, $120.,at same parking lot visit as strep, advanced pediatrics, another $285. Granted we did call and TELL them we wanted a strep and a covid test, so why the 350.00 medium difficulty code doc visit, I DO NOT KNOW. However, I cannot thank Lori Schubert, the lactation consultant at Advanced Pediatrics enough for her amazing work. I've had two sessions with her and she is truly incredible! She has a calm confidence and so much knowledge that as a new parent is very reassuring. She teaches you strategies to help you latch your baby properly but also allows you to practice with her to make sure that when you get home, you're able to replicate what you've learned. Advanced Pediatrics is top notch, and I can't recommend them enough. We actually recently moved, and went to a new practice that is near our new house, but it pales in comparison and we have returned to this practice despite the 35+ minute drive! All the doctors, nurses, and staff here have been wonderful! They are all knowledgeable, kind, and fantastic with kids! We absolutely love Dr. Ulen, but all doctors we have seen have been amazing. This office offers generous early morning and extended hours as well as morning and late evening walk-in hours, Saturday appointments, direct access to the advice nurse line, in-house lab, lactation consultant, mental health clinic, and they are very thorough with developmental screenings and well visits in accordance with the AAP. I am in healthcare as well, and in my opinion, this office is the best in this area! Thank you for providing such excellent care. read more

Initially impressed with their no nonsense approach, I thought we wouldn't have to look any further after our first introductory visit. The evening information session for expectant mothers helped break us into the world of parenting and really helped me (not so much my wife) understand the basics of baby "needs" versus "wants". For example, sterilizing your bottles after every use is not "needed" if you properly wash them. After all when you breastfeed the baby, you don't sterilize your nipple with scalding hot water! OUCH!!! Also all those cute little decorative blankets, pillows, pads, toys for the crib....get rid of them...they only add a layer of hazard and not comfort. This was useful advice to help deter my wife from adding almost every useless thing inside the crib. They seem to run a pretty good practice here, however the thing that really turned us off was the fact that when we were waiting for our baby's cord to fall off, we were told by everyone to just let if fall off naturally. When we came in for a checkup, the top part of the cord had recently fallen off, but there was still more to the bottom part that was still attached. While the the nurse was examining the baby's belly button, my wife made it clear she didn't want the nurse to pull the rest of it out, to the point that I embarrassingly told my wife..."of course she's not going to pull it off". The next minute or so the nurse kept wiggling the cord, until finally and incredulously, me and my wife wiggled the cord right off!!! I really couldn't believe my eyes!!! We just told her we didn't want her to do that, but she did anyway?!?! We were in total shock when she then said, I need to chemically burn the belly button shut because it hadn't completely sealed up!!! Needless to say the next few days, puss oozed out of her belly button. At that point we were extremely dissatisfied. I really liked this pediatrics, but not respecting the wishes of the parents?!?!? That's a BIG NO-NO!!! Ultimately this procedure is really not a big deal, and I'm sure our baby was never in any danger, but the principle that the nurse would ignore our wishes is just unacceptable. I obviously had to wait to write this review until we found a new pediatrician and the final insult was when we had to pay an administrative fee to have the medical paperwork transfered to another office. Apparently it's standard procedure though. I wouldn't necessarily discourage people from going here, as they are able to do their own labs (thus the name Advanced Pediatrics) versus other pediatric offices that send them out to get done. This could be important if you need to identify the source of an illness right away. read more

Have a real problem with this office. I'll start by saying we bring both our children there, and Dr. Holliday-Bell is fantastic, so this is no referendum on her. We brought our 6 year old son in for a vaccine shot. He was scared and crying. The nurse, Kimberly showed no empathy. Was very rude and and told him that she needed to hurry because there were other people waiting. Oh... I'm sorry Kimberly. Was it inconvenient for you that at the end of a day, you had a young child as a patient who was nervous and could use a bit of cheering up? You're a pediatric nurse Kimberly. Understand that, or find something else to do. If you don't want to show empathy for your patients, go be a nurse in a prison... NOT A PEDIATRICIAN OFFICE! I legitimately don't know what to say, but we'll likely be looking for a new pediatrician now. read more
