Been coming here for about 6 or so years now and it's the sign of a good restaurant that you make sure you go a little further than you would normally like to travel to go for a meal - this restaurant is in Auchinairn/Bishopbriggs so not exactly handy for me to get to (I don't drive). We always go for the Set Menu which either 2 or more people can have and it's a set price (yes, the price you see is what you pay for EVERYONE, that's not a 'per person' price which is what we thought when we first went!) and a total bargain ~ I can't remember exactly the prices but put it this way I have never paid more than about £16 (give or take) for full 4 course meal with alcoholic drinks. This is almost unheard of in other Indian restaurants. So when we seen the prices we thought 'hang on...this means it'll either be poor quality or poor portions' Nope. Not at all. They do one of my favourite Chicken Tikkas ever. The chicken is just gorgeous. We always alter the Set Menu a bit too ~ change the plain nan for a garlic one or fried to boiled rice, etc... this is never a problem and the staff are always more than happy to change anything on the menu to your liking. The waiting staff are always friendly, if a little busy/overworked looking, but as I said they're always willing to make the experience and meal exactly how you like it. Sometimes we've had to wait a wee while for a table (even when we've booked a table) but this is because this place is so darn popular ~ some nights it's just a steady and constant flow of hungry buddies coming in and rolling out again, bellies full. This, I would say is a good sign. The take-away side of the restaurant always seems busy too and I've heard it's very good also. Another nice wee 'extra' thing is they give you complimentary poppadoms and spiced onions & Bombay mix not long after you sit down ~ never a bad thing. Another thing I love about DD is the fact when myself and my friends go we like to make a night of it ~ so we have a lot of food, quite a lot of drinks (not too many, hic!) and we like to stay a loooong time. In fact 9 times out of 10 we're usually the last ones left in the restaurant, much to our embarrassment. But never once are we asked to leave or even hinted at/glared at to leave. This I like. Nowt worse than finishing your meal only to be glowered at by huffy waiting staff until you ask for the bill. Let me RELAX after my meal you beasts! *sigh* If I lived closer to this place I would fo' sure be here more often and I'd get plenty o'take-aways, I'd be the SIZE of the Delhi Darbar but damn I'd be happy!

There is so much choice of delicious Indian dishes and also a European menu. The restaurant was clean with beautiful decor and a wonderful view over the Clyde with the ferry to Cumbrae going back and forth. The service was excellent and friendly. We've decided to go there again over Christmas! For some people access might be difficult at the restaurant is upstairs without a lift. The staff seem happy to help those who have difficulties by carrying pushchairs or bags, etc. They also do a take away service and the restaurant is open at lunchtimes as well as evenings. Sometimes you're lucky and can park in the street outside or around the corner, otherwise there is a large car park directly opposite (costing £2).

It's an old building, and obviously the stair carpet was well worn so gives the wrong idea of what to find, the staff greeted us immediately and were very courteous, not very many people inside as he had actually had new carpets fitted in the main restaurant so he explained he had to cancel the buffet for that day. We did not wait very long for a pre dinner drink or the menu. Ordered house special saffron rice and chicken korma and lamb rogan josh poppadoms etc. The meal arrived within ten minutes, and it was absolutely delicious- the meat was very nice not this tumbled chicken you tend to get now and the lamb was succulent and soft it melted in your mouth. The owner was a great hospitable guy who could not do enough for you, and his wife and the young English guy waiter were very friendly. The meal cost £28.50 for two people absolute bargain. The best Indian meal we have tasted in a long time, deserve 5stars.

So my friend, who I hadn't realised frequented Giffnock in the past, suggested this great wee Indian restaurant. So I went online and booked a table for two. On our journey to Giffnock we kept getting stuck in traffic and roadworks, basically everything was thrown in our way. Anyway my friend called them to let them know we were running late, they were absolutely fine about it. I had checked online where the restaurant was on the map but as we nearing the place my friend said it was down a completely different street. So I quickly turned down the road she pointed to which led to Giffnock train station and there enough was the restaurant. Hmm??! I was bamboozled! So we headed in and I apologised for our lateness and said about our booked table. The waiter grunted and looked at me strange but led us to a booth set out for two. The food was delicious and the service was good too. It was a nice cosy restaurant and I would definitely go again. Anyway it still puzzled me that I had thought the restaurant was in another street. Well I only found out not long after that there is a "New" Turban Tandoori only 5 minutes from where we were. Doh! So no wonder the waiter looked confused at me. The poor other restaurant possibly thought we got lost and didn't bother to turn up. Oops!!! I'll just have to go to the "New" one another day.

Walked in and ordered from the take away menu a chicken bhuna and a garlic and coriander nann bread. As l sat in the waiting area for the order and no word of a joke the order came in less than four minutes no lie. My thought's are that there must have been a bane Marie at the back holding the sauces hot and ready to go, just to add the main item to the sauce such as chicken, beef, lamb, vegetables. The curry tasted fine but lacked in spice and flavour with the chicken having a red tinge to it, other wise it wse ok.
