So came across this place through GroupOn...and so happy I did. I mean I hesitated because I am not a morning person...I read 5:30am...yes I reacted the same way. But I sucked it up and said "how bad can it be?" So I signed up....about a day later Johnathan called me and sent me an email on what to expect the first day. - bring clean sneakers (helps keep the mats clean (bootcamp is in a gymnastics environment) - don't forget socks - bring water (you'll definitely need it) - bring your Groupon voucher just in case - towel is good too if you sweat - get there 5-10 min early for a good parking spot (its not bad at all....I mean 530am lol) There is a good amount of people. I love how Johnathan creates different stations and it will depend on the day. Monday - Strength and Cardio Tuesday - Terrible Tuesday's for a reason....Many rounds of circuit workouts Wednesday - Circuit Training Thursday - Tabata Friday - Boxing Also, he measures your body fat, weight and parts of your body. He tells you to journal your food (myfitnesspal) and helps you stay on top of your goal. I look forward to each workout....if you can't do 530 they also have 630am....and I believe 845am but on mon-wed-fri only. It's a fun time. I needed a jumpstart and I'm happy I signed up. read more

Johnathan is an amazing trainer! We had our typical one on one, where we did......the unspeakable....stepped on a scale, did measurements and spoke about my weight goals. This helped him get an idea of what I want to do, and he even helped me plan out some meals, recipes that would get me closer to my goal! So, I typically don't like group class formats because I'm not confident that I can keep up with the class and would make a fool of myself but honestly these groups of women are just amazing. So I have been to a few classes just to sample the program and each class was just so inviting and felt like a community. Having friendly faces, while Johnathan WORKS you, is like the best cause you don't feel alone in the struggglee! Alright so each day he has it mapped out for different forms of workouts, so go to one that you are interested in of course but they are all honestly great. Each class starts off with roughly the same general format, warm ups (jumping jacks, light jog around the gym, squats) and then you are divided up into quadrants. You are in each quadrant for some designated time before you move around to other areas. Everything is basically a full body work out, with each quadrant having specific focuses on parts of your body (legs, arms, back, cardio). Fair warning, I work out regularly and there were other ladies that never picked up a dumbell in their adult life. We were BOTH SORE (not to a point of death but a good burn sore). I genuinely felt like each station has enough options (weight levels) so that it is suitable for any fitness level! Which is fantastic!!! Aside from this Johnathan must be a morning person, because he is just full of ENERGY and bounces around to everyone to make sure we are working! Now he doesn't just kindly ask, he shouts and yells BUT he does it in a way that is SUPER SWEET? Like I don't know how he manages that but when my name is called I'm like oh nooo....only to hear him say positive things! Best F'ing Fitness. How can you know if BFF Bootcamp is right for you? Think about your answers to the following questions: Do you like working out in the same space as other motivated, like-minded people? Would you like to have an extremely friendly, positive trainer who wants the best for you to help hold you accountable to your fitness & nutrition goals? Do you appreciate a value? (Are you the type of person who would never, on principle, spend over $200 on "boutique" fitness classes?) Do you tell yourself that you'll exercise after work, only to find that's the last thing you want to do at the end of a busy, stressful day? During the week, are you able to wake up an hour earlier than usual? (Trust me, you can do it!) Do you have $30 to try the first month? (Mainly to see if you are able to wake up an hour earlier during the week - because that's the only reason you wouldn't keep coming back.) I am more motivated when I'm held accountable (in a kind, non-judgemental way) and I've found out that working out in the morning is actually the best fit for me. All of the workouts are easily modified for any injuries or other issues. The soft, spring floors are so, so easy on my early-onset arthritic knees (I'm 31- the struggle is real). The month-to-month commitment is easy, but you have the option of saving money by signing up for longer stretches of time. Give BFF Bootcamp a try! After a work out here you're sore for the week but have energy for the whole day! The price for a month is around 190 but I got a Groupon deal of 33 and I have to say it is worth it. Once my Groupon is up I might just pay full price for this for as long as I can. The classes are early in the morning for people who are busy during the day and like to get a head start. Each day consist of different types of workouts. The trainer Jonathan is very energetic and helpful when showing you correct form and even pushing you to follow through with all the reps. The group size depends on the hour you go. I enjoy the 6:30 class it's a handful of people and not overwhelming. There's no judgements and you can always modify a workout to suit you. It hurts so good! Be prepared to push yourself at your own pace while being surrounded by support and encouragement. When I decided to take the class my first fear was lagging behind and/or feeling it was "too much", but I was surprised. I walked into a variety of fitness levels (all ages, sizes, experiences) with all parties being challenged without pressure or the dreaded "are they looking at me?" The best part for me was that I honestly felt like I was a young buck again having fun with peers while getting healthy. At one point I got tired and wanted to quit and another participant randomly said to me, "Good job, you're doing great" (not knowing I was two seconds away from sprawling out on the mats). I swear to you it gave me strength I didn't think I had left in me. The trainer (Jonathan) has an energy level that baffles me. Positive reinforcement is an understatement. How he remembers EVERYONES name and makes sure to address all of our needs is amazing. I am actually looking forward to the next day. Took these boot camp classes for a month through a living social deal. Overall, it was a good experience. I looked forward to getting up in the morning to go and I was full of energy the rest of the day. The class starts with a light warm up, then there are 2 groups of exercises, abs, and cool down. Each group would consist of 4 different exercises (1 minute each) that you would do 3 sets of each. I loved it because there were times were I could, if i choose to, too be competitive with my fellow boot campers. However, if I didn't want to be competitive, I was able to go on my own pace. The choice is yours. After the month, I saw an improvement. I felt leaner and lighter. I diffinitly toned up with this. The only down for me was pricing. I was able to afford the class because I used Living social. As much as I would have loved to continue, I couldn't afford the regular price. If you can afford it, go for it! read more

Ok! Here it is. Get your butt out of bed and spend quality time with amazing people and a strong motivator like Jonathan! I, as a middle aged, full figure man could not have been more pleased to see my body transform, but more importantly, mentally I feel amazing each morning. I have extra energy all day and like the mental capacity I have even towards the end of the day. Our 5:30 am group is motivated and supportive of each other. We are not simply working out, but collaborating in a unified goal of fitness and health. Each exercise is careful explained and if you do not get it, there is always a kind member offering assist. I've experienced a lot better. Warning: If you want to work out in a kid's gymnastics area which has a rancid, pungent smell of sweaty feet....this is the place for you. I don't enjoy doing stretches with my face on the floor, and all I want to do is puke. There are better facilities for boot camps, and a children's place is not the preferred choice. As for the workout, it's circuit based training. Basically, do as many reps as possible of one exercise in a given time and move to the next. Drill sergeant style. I went for quite some time, and was never asked about problem areas or given personal attention on what I wanted to work on. The price is outrageous, I would rather hire a personal trainer for the same price and get solid, quality workouts. Not random workouts just to pass the time. Also, Jonathan, the trainer, has a gift of gab. You will hear about his daily trials and tribulations, that's great, if you're looking for a social outing, not if you're looking to get a hard-core workout in. He also rushes through explaining the work-outs, talking 500 miles a minute, instead of taking his time to explain each one properly to reduce the risk of injury or improper form. He also screams over the music, which can get extremely annoying. Pass on this one. read more

I been going to BFF since mid february and I really enjoy it. At first, I didn't know if I could get up so early everyday to get there and be ready to workout at 6:45a, I was so used to working out after work at night. HOwever, after the first week, my body got used to it and now I find that working out early in the morning sets the tone and gives me good energy for the rest of the day :) I like that BFF is held in a gymnasium. The padded spring floors are so helpful to those with joint issues, I have suffered from hip bursitis due to running and it was acting up here and there when I worked out at home. However, i can honestly say since working out at BFF, my hip has not bothered me. Jonathan is a great trainer and a really nice guy who takes pride in his training. He motivates and checks proper form so that all us bootcampers are doing it right. Everyone in the class is nice and they go at their own pace or push themselves harder for a more challenging workout. Don't be afraid or intimidated. No one here judges and everyone is in their zone doing their own thing :) Also, every day is a different workout so you never get bored and your body is being challenged in a different way each day. I have a love/hate relationship with Tuesday and Thursday classes :). I like that Jonathan creates a spreadsheet of your measurements. Weight, body fat %, etc , to track your progress every 6 weeks. To date, I have lost 23 pounds and several inches all over especially my waist. Don't hesitate to join BFF, You won't regret it ! read more

I started at BFF Boot camp by way of Groupon at the end of the summer. I was just going to try the 30 days and move on to something else. Two weeks in, my jeans were feeling roomier. Near the end of the 30 days, I was actually noticing muscle tone and I knew I was hooked. :) The workouts are usually structured at two groups of four exercises each, doing three 1 minute sets. Then there's a quick ab workout (usually 2 sets of 4 exercises) and cool-down stretches. In general, the atmosphere is very positive and supportive. The classes consist of people of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels but we all work out as a team. Don't let the term "boot camp" scare you. It's a great workout, but you won't be yelled at or told to do some impossible exercise. Our trainer, Jonathan, is awesome at motivating all of us and giving individual attention to tailor the exercises to each person's fitness level as well as ensure that we're all doing the exercises safely and correctly. He also offers modifications for those with prior or current injuries. Jonathan also offers lots of support outside of class with nutrition or injury advice. He'll even check in with you if you miss class for a couple of days, just to make sure things are OK. So, it's a very friendly boot camp. :) The downside for some people may be the hours. Waking up for a 6:45am class is not easy, but it gets easier. I was never a morning person, and I'm still really not, but waking up for this class is well worth it. After this workout, you have energy to burn for the entire day. And anyway, Jonathan is so energetic that you can't help but absorb some of that energy. :) I don't think I've ever felt as strong, healthy and energetic as I've been feeling while going to BFF Boot Camp. And, of course, the looser fitting jeans doesn't hurt either. :) INVEST IN YOURSELF AND GET TO BFF! :) read more

I tried this class as a result of a living social deal. I'd never tried a bootcamp exercise class before, so I was a little nervous. Jonathan is so inviting and really makes every session interesting and beneficial. I was getting whipped into shape, I felt great, and I had such a great time. He would change up the reps everyday, every other Wednesday was Yoga, and Fridays were boxing (which were so much fun). This was a great class and I'd recommend it to everyone! read more

Classes are safe, fun and challenging!! I have not found any other classes in my 20 years of being a gym member that combined these three aspects so successfully. Whether a beginner or advanced athlete, each workout is made to work for you at your level. I loved that I never felt the class was too hard or too easy or too boring--a common problem in most gyms.It was always the perfect combination of strength and cardio based movements that I could do at my own level and pace. Week by week I felt a big difference in my level of fitness!! Plus, it is a great community of healthy people that support each other's goals and efforts! I cannot believe how much I have enjoyed this boot camp. I get a much tougher work out than anything else I have done but have enjoyed it so much more. Jonathan knows his stuff, is passionate about physical fitness and healthy eating, and is a pleasure to be around.
