After some Yelp research, I decided upon Brows by Hasini based on all of the great reviews. It was a little bit further than what I would normally travel for, but I thought it might be worth it. It was very easy to make an appointment through email, actually. The place itself is a little bit difficult to find for your first time because the GPS just kind of drops you off in a plaza. It is to the left of Bashas and right next to an Italian eatery. The woman who did my eyebrows did a great job. What I loved is that she listened to me. I'm asking for something very simple, just to clean up in a little bit and do some shaping, as I usually do a good job on my own and just kind of need help shaping every once in a while. She listened, and I couldn't believe the price when she told me. $12. I will take that trip any day for $12 for an eyebrow! There is no bathroom so if you have to go to the bathroom go to Bashas like I did. She told me that she was new. The place itself is cute, pretty simple. Overall, I would definitely return and send my recommendation.

You get a punchcard that you can use towards the discounted service. She is super sweet and was so nice to my kids who joined me for the occasion! They listen when I ask not to take too much off my brows and I've left satisfied 9 times out of 10. The salon is clean and welcoming. The new space is much bigger than their last and has more chairs. Their prices have gone up, which I understand. I used to pay $13 for eyebrow threading and recently paid $15. They're a great, convenient option since they don't typically require an appointment.

So when I got to the Lashbar, my first impression is that the salon is bright and inviting with a posh look. Everything looks clean and sanitary. I proceeded to sit in the boyfriend waiting room which most people call 'the lobby' a.k.a. 'entrance', where there was a nice, plush sofa ready for me to ponder life and the significance of the significant other. As I waited, the nice owner offered me their signature champagne even though I wasn't in there for long. I'm not a big champagne guy, but I tasted it and it was actually pretty good! As we conversed, the owner went on to tell me that this franchise has multiple locations in San Diego where it originated and is well known for their quality and service. Well, they backed their claims because afterwards my girlfriend said the technicians make sure to go the full mile to see that you are satisfied with your look and final lashes. Also very attentive and make sure you are comfortable while getting treated. You know how "particular" our sweet, loving, amazing wife/girlfriend/family can be when it comes to how they look before a big occasion. But my girlfriend really liked how her lashes turned out and I can tell they make her pretty happy. Who knew that lash extensions could really make someone's day? Wish I could get my lashes done too! I had specifically asked for a very natural shape and natural-looking lashes. I may have accidentally caused some confusion by mentioning that I thought my previous lash artist in Texas used 12 mm lashes. My stylist said she incorporated some 12s, but with lash extensions it's not just about the length--it also has to suit the style. Unfortunately, I left with more of a squirrel-style set, which wasn't at all what I had envisioned. I'm honestly hoping enough fall out soon so I can get them corrected with a fill somewhere else because I'm still not happy with how they look. I don't think this is entirely my lash artist's fault. She was kind, patient, and the application itself was clean. I think this comes down more to training. When a client asks for a natural set, I would expect the stylist to know what that means or ask for reference photos if there's any uncertainty. I just wish there had been more transparency that I was booking with someone so new. Had I known, I would have brought inspiration photos or chosen to pay more for a master stylist instead I feel the price was too high for a stylist who was still gaining experience anyways. I gave the lashes a few days because I thought they might grow on me, but unfortunately I still don't love them. I genuinely wish the outcome had matched the experience because everyone I interacted with was very kind. .
