Yes Wizz was my first.... MY FIRST TATTOO ARTIST. :) Even though it was my first and last tattoo - the staff was very pleasant and supportive. I was extremely nervous but Wizz made sure I didn't make a run for it. There's a small restroom in the back if u need to change clothes or obviously use it - clean. There was a total of 3 people in our and I was second; before starting he wanted to know where I wanted and to make sure I was comfortable. Please note the minimum price is $65... So make sure you get a size which equal up to that value and color included. He played music, cracker jokes, and OMG he was some nice eye candy to look at as well (yummy). I know I wasn't cool at all because I couldn't even look at it as he was tattoo'n - YES IM A BIG BABY but I didn't cry. My tattoo is a paw print with a heart around it on my thigh. The place is clean and everything, but they do not make you feel welcomed or comfortable when you walk in. The shop monkeys are usually sitting around playing video games or watching a movie and you have to speak to them first. They don't have a set pricelist for piercings because they prefer to charge people based on their looks or personality. Great going, guys. They are just horribly overpriced and pretentious. Overall, you can do better and you can find nicer places. read more

Beyond Reality is about 45 min from my house. I went there for my latest tattoo based on recommendations from a friend with many tatts. I went specifically to see Dennis, who has an artistic ability that impressed me more than I had expected. I am nothing but thrilled with how my tattoo came out and how honest and talented Dennis is. The other places I have had tattoos, I have found the artists to be cocky and somewhat rude, not really caring that I had to live with the design for the rest of my life. As is true with most tattoo parlors, it looks pretty shady from the outside, and even a little on the inside. I knocked off a star because other places I have been have tried a *little* harder to make the shop look nice. That is just being picky I suppose, but I admit to being a snob, so I am cool with that. I went here to get my ear pierced and the man did a fine job. Unfortunately my ear rejected the piercing about 2 months later. I had written a concerned comment on their Facebook and they acted fine saying its all about making the client fine and they encouraged me to come in and have it looked at. I went in and the lady, I have no idea who she was, an owner, receptionist maybe? And she was probably the rudest person I have ever met. Said I must of been in a "mad mood" when I wrote and stormed away saying it makes her so mad when people write on that Facebook. I'm sorry, if you don't want people to write on it then don't have a Facebook. She had then deleted the comment. She definitely makes me not want to come back. Other then this lady, Dan, who pierced my ear was a very nice man. He said he would re-do my ear and take good care of me and said not to worry anything about it. Although he did offer to re-do it for free, the lady puts a blocker on it and I'd rather just go somewhere else and pay for it to be re-done. read more

I went to Beyond Reality twice. The first time was in 2009, the second in 2010. The first time I went I wanted a simple tattoo. I saw Dennis at the recommendation of friends and he was terrific. Even though I just wanted simple text, he drew up several concepts for me and we discussed them together. It was a good experience. The second time I went to get a gift certificate for my sister (who wanted her nipples done). I explained to the piercer at the time (Fish, I think his name was) that I was going to tip ahead of time so that she would not have to (I think I tipped $20 or $25, and the piercings were $90 with the jewelry) . I also explained that she was very anxious about this piercing, but had wanted it for a while and that I hoped he could put her at ease. He didn't seem too interested in what I was saying until I tipped ahead of time. When I brought my sister in (having made an appointment ahead of time) I felt a little like we were bothering them, and that feeling did not go away. I was in search of a tattoo shop recently and it's been such a long time since I've had one, I felt lost, like I was starting a search from scratch. I've been to Beyond Reality before, but it's been such a long time since then. My cousin had one done here a few years ago, and I was with her, so I'm familiar with the place and it's existence. I read some of the other reviews about the customer service and uninterested attitude of the staff and am glad to say that I did not experience any of that.I called one day to set up a time to come in and speak with one of the artists. My phone call was great...the young lady was helpful and informative, let me know when I could come in and who would be available to do my ink on the day I wanted. I ended up going into the shop to talk about the tattoo I wanted with the actual artist, Wizz. When I got there, everybody was super cool. We talked about my art and a couple of my friends wanted something done, too, so we talked about what they might want. We set up a time and date and we were set. At the appointment, which was my birthday, Wizz set us up with the paperwork, design, payment and we were ready to get the party started. The place is super clean and professional (licenses, paperwork, etc). Wizz was a lot of fun and is an excellent artist. We.were all very satisfied with our tattoos and had a blast getting them. I walked into Beyond Reality wanting a Snug piercing. The lady behind the counter was super friendly. The piercer was still learning and she honestly told me that given my anatomy she didn't feel comfortable performing the piercing but she could call the owner and set up an appointment time with him. Much to my delight he told her that he could be at the shop in 10 minutes. Sure enough, he showed up and pierced my snug. I couldn't have been happier with the service. read more

I got a tattoo at Beyond Reality in early 2006. They did a good job and the people were very nice.

Ive had three tattos done here so far....henry is a great tatto artist, down to earth and very real. Likes to be honest and will let you know if a tattoo will or wont work, and also can carry a conversation while he works. Makes you feel at ease. The place is clean and people are all down to earth and friendly, I will be taking my wife and oldest son there to get more ink. I am also going to let Wizzle get creative and finish up a sleeve on my arm.......Would recommend to all.... read more

Worst pricing I ever received. When I walked in they didn't tell me they didn't have an actual piercer on duty and they gave me a tattoo artist. She told me she knew what she was doing but that she never does this kinda thing. After me asking if she was sure and that I could come back when they were on duty, she insisted it would be fine. It wasn't ducking fine. She took AT LEAST 3 minutes I get that needle through my belly button. LET ALONE she paused while doing it to to say "you have thick skin" are you ducking kidding me. It was agonizing what does that even mean. It hurt so bad my friend who had gone to get hers done at a different place who was there with me said that it was so unprofessional and should NOT have taken that long. I have been to many tattoo shops before finding a "home" shop with Beyond Reality. I did my research and have went with other people to their artist. I have to say that the people at Beyond Reality are ALWAYS nice and try to cater to what the client wants. I had a coverup done by Hannah and it took a few tries to tweek it a little on paper, but she nailed it! I couldn't have been happier and she captured everything I could've ever expected in what I verbally explained to her and more! The atmosphere is great, and they are all very personable people there. Since tattoo's are a permanent pierce of art on your body, I figured I'd put a bit of thought in it. Like what is it, what does it mean, what it means to you and who does the work. I had a particular piece I was thinking of getting, but wasn't too sure where to get it done. I had a friend recommend Beyond Reality. It was a bit tricky finding the place since it almost seems like it blends right in with the other buildings. I came in and Hannah talked to me about my idea, then we went from there. She was very easy going and carried great conversations. In our conversation I learned that she has done a few portrait tattoos. Curious enough, I asked if I could see her portfolio. I have to say that if you're looking for a portrait tattoo then you should see and talk to Hannah. As far as the other guys in shop, I had small chat with Henry and Dan. They both were quite nice and seem like pretty relaxed guys. I recommend checking them out. read more
