After second appointment

Was super disappointed with how this turned out last year (April 2023) . I went back and tried to have her fix it but it didn't turn out again. It was worse after going over the whole thing with a thicker needle. Thickness of the lines was just not consistent. I wish she would have said she wasn't able to do fine line work tattoos. I Had to go elsewhere and pay to have it reworked. It took me a while to want to share my experience, but it is also important for me to inform others as well.

I finally went through with getting a tattoo after almost a decade of chickening out. Eternal Tattoos in Livonia made the experience really comfortable - its very clean and spacious, everyone was friendly and fun, and my artist Cheryl did an amazing job. Highly recommended.

After some research and a few recommendations I booked an appointment with Cheryl over a month in advance. We communicated often via email about the large piece I was looking to get. I was nervous come the day of my appointment and let me tell you how absolutely wonderful, welcoming, and professional Cheryl was from my first email, throughout my appointment and right up until I walked out the door. I'm very very happy with the beautiful art she gave me! She worked at a steady pace with little to no pain (I have a high tolerance) and often checked on me to make sure I was comfortable. It also healed better than any tattoo I've ever had. She has a client for life with me. I highly recommend her if she's your style artist!

This shop is very unprofessional. Came in here about 2 months ago to get 3 very simple tattoos.. 2 Kirby tattoos one for me and my best friend & a yin yang... thinking those would be simple enough designs anyone could do them right? WELL I MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE ASSUMING THAT! first off the women at the front desk told me was rude from the very start, told me In a very rude tone I couldn't talk on the phone while I was in the waiting room? What sense does that make I'm in a waiting room? Then told me I seemed like I was messed up because I dropped items out of my purse trying to get her my ID to prove my age. In my opinion a front desk employee of a tattoo shop should be polite and greet the customers to make them feel comfortable. Now to move on to the tattoo artist DENNIS. He failed to tell me the price of my tattoos until I was already halfway done with my 2nd PEICE WHILE I WAS IN THE CHAIR !!! if I would have known he was going to charge me $100 for a simple Kirby tattoo & another $100 for a yin yang? And $80 for the 3rd Kirby tattoo on my friend ???? I would have Walked out that shop instantly ... you would think after purchasing 3 tattoos in one session you could get a much better deal than that. Plus a better tip for you as an artist. maybe If it was out of this world quality I wouldn't be so upset because like they say ... you get what you pay for Especially with tattoos! So I decided to give this artist a chance . BUT NOT IN THIS CASE !!! boy did I let this go on for too long. During my session I felt the most uncomfortable pain I've ever felt getting these tattoos. Keep in mind I have about 10 tattoos and my friend has too many to count. We both have never had to look at eachother and say "damn this shit fucking hurts man". It felt like he was going insanely deep. I came back in the shop the 2nd day after getting the artwork done because I was so appalled on how they were healing. I was in excruciating pain, the tattoos would dry our instantly after putting aquafor on. IT WAS ONLY THE SECOND DAY AND LOOK AT HOW THESE TATTOS TURNED OUT. When I came in to express I was not happy with how the artwork that has been put on my body FOR THE REAT OF MY LIFE and I wanted some kind of refund of my money back because these were not worth what I paid for. I could have done a better job doing these tattoos myself. (I've used machines before) the artist Dennis instantly told me no, wouldn't even look at me in the eyes or even at what kind of damage he had done to my body. Not to mention the very rude front desk lady from before came back screaming at us trying to kick me out saying I was stupid for touching my tattoos and that's why they look like crap, when All I was doing was trying to point to her the flaws. I refused to leave until someone professional enough in this shop coils understand if someone is not happy with how a tattoo is on their body something needs to be done. Sorry hunny but you are a front desk lady, not a tattoo artist. You should be fired. Anyway, the only somewhat professional person finally came out to diffuse the situation. basically just told me to come back when they're healed and he will fix them for me since I refuse to go back under the needle by Dennis. But for some reason every time I would ask any of these people " do you honestly think these are well done tattoos worth what I payed for" they wouldn't answer a simple yes or no question. They said it just seemed like I didn't know how to take care of a tattoo. But little do they know I'm a tattoo apprentice and months before I even put my hands on a machine my mentor taught for for months making me me read books on how important the healing process of tattoos are etc. To conclude. I came back about 2 months after my tattoos have healed. They still look like shit. I'm un happy and want them covered up honestly but since there is a chance of them being fixed I decided I'll give another artist a chance like they told me my only option was. Well I wasted my time once again to be told they still look like they need to be healed ????? What in the world it's been about 2 months. This shop fucking sucks

Absolutely love all my tattoos done here by Cheryl she does a amazing job, understanding, talks you through it, and is extremely nice and professional. I love her shading for tattoos! She did my first tattoo and my second one!

My girl's nose and upper lip

I went for my 1st tattoo with TJ at Howell, he also works at Livonia. He was awesome, super gentle and made me feel like I have had 20 tattoos before. I will def be going back to him. The tattoo was special to me, I had to put my soul mate of a dog down and the cremation people made me a print of her nose and upper lip. He knew this was important to me and it turned out exactly like the pic! Now she will be with me forever and I can book her nose whenever I want.

dainty just how I wanted it :-)

My artist was TJ and he was phenomenal! I got matching tattoos with my mom and my sister and it was a great experience.

Ask the Community - Eternal Tattoos

I'm getting my first tattoo on Saturday from here and I was wondering who should I ask for?

T.J. and Doug are the only 2 I have had do my tattoos. They are both super cool and good. I do know that Doug now has the silent machine, so if the buzz of the tattoo guns freaks you out a little, then I would go with Doug if he is available.

My Little Needle Tattoos - Conch piercing! The friendly person at the front desk (whose name I didn't catch, unfortunately), helped me pick out this little gold piece.

Meatloaf did my piercing, and he was friendly, informative, gentle, and really took his time. Highly recommend both him and the shop! (It's also next to Meridian, the best coffee shop in Plymouth.)

I am genuinely surprised by the overwhelming number of positive reviews Little Needle Tattoos…read morereceives, because my experience was very different. I recently got a tattoo from Bri to honor my husband, an Army combat veteran who served two tours in Iraq and died by suicide about two years ago. I wanted a sunflower with his initials and shorthand for the number of days we had together. This was not just another tattoo to me. I explained the design and its meaning in my initial email, then attended the requested consultation. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt "too cool for school." Interactions felt forced, and I felt out of place. I joke a lot, sometimes awkwardly, because humor is how I get through difficult things. I wasn't expecting anyone to understand my grief, just to be welcoming and listen. At the consultation, Bri said she'd prepare drawings and different sizes for my appointment. Two weeks later, none of those options appeared to be ready. She started drawing directly on me instead. Every artist has a process, but why require a consultation and promise preparation if that isn't what happens? My time matters too. I was also sick on appointment day; symptoms started the night before. With a 48-hour cancellation policy and a $100 cash deposit already paid, I felt pressured to go. I told Bri I was sick before we started, but didn't feel there was much concern. I found myself explaining the tattoo's meaning yet again. When I mentioned "+2K" for the days I knew my husband, Bri asked, "Is that for running?" She also compared my memorial tattoo to a strawberry tattoo she'd considered for an ex-fiancé after a breakup. I'm not diminishing anyone's relationship, but those situations are not the same. She repeatedly discouraged the number of days, and I eventually settled for just his initials. That was disappointing. At times she seemed to confuse me with another client, saying, "Oh, you're the one," only for me to correct her. Super welcoming! Much of the conversation was about her own life and Venus being retrograde. Then a break described as five or ten minutes became roughly 35. I sat alone waiting, without an update. I understand artists need breaks. A little communication would have gone a long way. **But the biggest problem?** My tattoo was supposed to be CENTERED on the back of my neck. It is noticeably off to the left, despite Bri taking a reference photo. This is permanent. My husband was left-handed, so I guess there's some irony there, but I shouldn't have to find a joke in incorrect placement. I don't expect special treatment because I'm a widow. I expect preparation, communication, respect for my time, and careful placement. I ignored my gut feeling because this tattoo meant so much to me. Instead, I left and cried in my car. I wish my experience matched the glowing reviews. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this shop, and I won't return to have the placement addressed.

You get what you pay for. The first shop I visited was on the high end of "reasonable," so I kept looking. My search ended the moment I walked into The Branded Barby. The owner told me everyone in the shop had the skill to handle my design, but she highly recommended Mary, a young artist she was mentoring. Her pricing was right in my range, so my last question was simple: Can she handle the shading? I got an immediate, confident "Absolutely." I booked with Mary, and she reached out about a week before the appointment asking for the artwork. I sent it right over. When I arrived on tattoo day, she was ready for me -- professional, prepared, and clearly passionate about her craft. She walked me through all the technical details and then showed me the touch‑ups she made to my design. Let me tell you... I was blown away. Her improvements elevated the artwork beyond what I imagined. I even asked her to send me her version because it was that good. Four hours later -- and yes, it hurt -- Mary finished. I was already impressed, but she wasn't satisfied until every detail met her own high standards. That level of pride and precision is rare. Her shading was cold, clean, and absolutely on point. She didn't just meet my expectations; she crushed them. I was ready to book my next tattoo before I even left the chair. Do NOT sleep on Mary. Her skill, her eye for detail, and her dedication to the craft are top‑tier. If you're looking for an artist who can handle serious shading and deliver beyond what you imagined, she's the one.
