Tattoo was turned out great and the owner was extremely nice and made the appointment as comfortable as possible. There was a tv and music, the decor is very nice and chill. Was clean and when I was there it was only the owner working so we had the space to ourselves which made me feel more relaxed. Even walked me to my car because it isn't the best area, love how he went above and beyond! read more

Best Tattoo artist around!!! I love his work so much...I let him tat my adult children. Highly recommend!!

Jeff is amazing! First timer here and he was fantastic! My tattoo is exactly what I wanted and I am amazed at how many people ask about it. When I tell them where I went, most say, "Jeff does all my tattoos too". Well respected in the community as well. Would never go anywhere else. Highly recommend everyone to checkout Liquid Swordz! read more

First experience at Liquid Swordz was so pleasant, I came back! I initially came in for a nose piercing and choose a stud. A few months later I wanted to switch things up a bit, and had the stud switched out with a ring. They cleaned the stud and re-pierced it above my ring, so I now have 2 stacked nose piercings. Compared to the first piercing, the 2nd was relatively painless. Is this even possible???? I am beyond satisfied and am eager to come back the next time I'm bored with my look. Ty Dave!! read more

Liquid Swordz - double nose piercing! - Tattoo Near Me - Ypsilanti, Michigan

Okay okay, I know I reviewed Pangea and gave them five stars, but I'm also in love with this place. Really nice guys. Especially since it's right next to deja vu. They were clean, efficient, kind and really respectful. I went in to get new plugs put in my ears and liked the service I was getting so much that I just decided to get another piercing, which was no problem for this guy. As I was waiting for the room to be set up and jewelry to be sterilized, another guy showed me what he was drawing up for a customer. It was beautiful. I'm tempted to go in for some ink next. Very tempted. Great guys, beautiful art and worth every cent. read more

I came to Liquid Swordz after a series of disappointments (due to the snobby attitudes of the staff, and the unnecessarily high prices of the services) with other tattoo/piercing joints in the Ann Arbor area. The first thing that struck me was how busy it was on a Wednesday evening. Even so, the receptionist was pleasant and I was given paperwork to complete pretty quickly. The vibe is a friendly, relaxed one - lots of great art on the walls, a case of body jewelry to peruse, and a slideshow on a TV which displayed information and pictures of work by the tattoo artists and piercer. I observed a couple of guys getting tattoos, and my partner & I chatted with the receptionist as we waited. "Evil" Dave, the piercer, had just finished piercing the navels of two teenage girls, accompanied by their guardian - they looked a little wan when they came out, but there were no tears. I was there to get my nostril pierced, and from the time Dave walked me back to the time I was walking out of the place only a short fifteen minutes had elapsed. Dave was happy to let my partner watch the procedure, and he explained every step in detail. I was impressed with his degree of care and knowledge. He also has a great piercing 'bedside manner' - just the right blend of information and jokes - which put me totally at ease. If I ever get another piercing in the Ann Arbor area, it will definitely be at Liquid Swordz. read more

Called the other day to see if a piercer was available for a belly button piercing and I was able to come right in and got it done immediately. The shop is clean and well-run. My piercing was excellent. Everything was explained well and there was no pain at all. The price was average and fair in comparison to other shops. I would definitely come back. read more

Jeff is the G.O.A.T. Everything was perfect, his shop is clean, organized, full of art and cozy. COVID-19 safe. Jeff is an all around cool, calm and collective guy. He's great to talk to and made the experience for my son and I very comfortable! Passionate about his work and making sure his customers are satisfied! We absolutely love our tatts! This is where we will forever go to get "inked up"! Highly recommend!! read more

Liquid Swordz - First tattoo! - Tattoo Near Me - Ypsilanti, Michigan

I went here to get a last minute tattoo that I'd been wanting for a while. For all my other tattoos, I've gone to my tattoo artist back home but now that I'm in the area, I wanted to find an artist I like out here. All the staff were really nice. They made sure I was comfortable and my tattoo was exactly how and where I wanted it to be. They have a $60 tattoo minimum and because mine was small, they touched up a few of my other small ones so I'd get my money's worth. I would definitely recommend them. The shop is very clean and the artists are very talented. read more

Had a tattoo AND a nose piercing done here. All the guys are super professional, funny, and accomodating. They'll even check up on you a couple weeks later to make sure everything's healing up okay. Had Alex do my tattoo and his drawings were top notch. All these guys would make any first-time tattoo or piercing super relaxed and comfortable. Will be going back. read more

Liquid Swordz - exactly the tribute I wanted to my sweet pup! - Tattoo Near Me - Ypsilanti, Michigan

Evil Dave is far from evil. He's a gentle weirdo. He's awesome, too. You should get pierced by him.

Dave helped me Re pierce my almost closed up conch piercing & get new jewelry for my tragus piercing today. He was nice to chat with, very knowledgeable and very clean every step. I felt comfortable. He discussed aftercare and provided literature to take home and answered all my questions. He gave me price points for the jewelry so I had options to choose from too. Never felt pressured or rushed. Fantastic piercer!! read more

Liquid swords is such an awesome place to tat up. The guys are professional and very skilled. Especially Sunny D. You have to get a tattoo from a guy with 20+ years artwork experience and even degrees from EMU. And conversation. Tattoos take time and it's nice to be able to have an intelligent conversation while it happens. I go no other place for tattoo work. I've been to many if the Ann Arbor locations and they just don't have the talent. read more

Great service. I only trust Dave with my piercings. Any time I have gotten anything pierced (even my ears) anywhere else I end up with an infection. He knows what he's doing and you can tell he loves what he does. I have been in several times to change out the jewelry on my monroe after he pierced it originally and he is always in a great mood and offers great customer service. Carl has done 4 of my tattoos and he's awesome. Jeff has done two of mine and also amazing. Everyone who works here takes pride in what they do and they do an excellent job. On top of that the place is very clean and practices proper sanitation. read more

These guys are great. Im not sure there's any other way to say it, just great all around. 100% recommend.

Awesome place. Very cool people. Did a top notch job on tattoo. Would def recommend to anyone wanting a professional job done.

Nothing but good things to say about this place! I got my first tattoo here, and it was done by Carl. He was extremely patient, thorough, and easy to talk to. Also, the place was spotless! Not being the type of person that has much experience with body mod, I am especially glad I came here. read more

I had the most pleasant experience! Calling ahead there was easy and they were able to take me as a walk in quickly. I spoke with Carl briefly about what I wanted and he gave an excited yes! When I came in he was quick to start on what I wanted and did so in a professional and timely manner keeping me involved as he worked making sure I liked what he did. He also gave me plenty of options to make sure I was happy with what he could give me. Within 20 minutes of walking in I was in the chair and ready to go! The place was nice and clean and in good condition and I was happy to see the equipment was pristine and in good condition. Everything one time use and kept in clean working areas. I come from Virginia and the places there hold the same cleanliness standards but the people can be less welcoming, they still give great work but not as much personal experience. They are also much more costly here was much more fair priced and reasonable. Carl was soothing and easy to talk to, definitely gained my trust and gave me a design I love! He was precise with application and fairly quick with the needle. Although I was expecting to be there longer I was pleasantly surprised to see how fast he worked while still giving good quality. I had an amazing experience and I'm more than happy with the results! read more

I had a septum piercing done here. The piercer was very friendly and confident, but I later learned that confidence was a mask for incompetence. He made a point to say a lot of people don't know how to do septum piercings, but that he's very good at it. It wasn't too painful and it was a good experience. However, I went to Pangea to get it looked at after it had healed for new jewelry, as Liquid Swordz didn't have the kind I wanted and wasn't able to order it. I was also finding it a little difficult to maneuver the jewelry. The piercer examined it and said it was not done correctly, that it was crooked. He said he would advise taking it out and letting it heal and then getting it redone. The next day I went back to Liquid Swordz to show the piercer and have him look at it. He brushed it off and laughed nervously, but after I pushed him to examine it, he reluctantly did admitted it was crooked and took it out. He offered to redo it once it had healed, but I felt uncomfortable doing that given his previous attempt. Kudos for admitting incompetence though. read more

Way more legit and cost friendly compared to Pangea in Ann Arbor. The guy piercing my sisters and I was very nice and patient. It is clean and affordable. Def worth the extra few miles. read more

I went here in September to get my nose pierced by Dave. Typically, I am absolutely terrified of needles and this was such a pleasant experience, Dave was wonderful, extremely friendly, and I felt 100% comfortable. Prices were more than reasonable and I'm still so pleased with my piercing, it healed beautifully. I wish I lived local because I would definitely return! read more
