I did a walk-in for my first tattoo on a Friday night (a very simple line-drawing of some symbols) and I didn't have to wait long at all! The studio is very clean, decorated, and the artist, Maurice, made sure to clean up his workspace before seeing me. He is a very talented artist with a lot of his original work hanging for sale in the studio. It got a little busy with piercing walk-ins and I ended up waiting about 30 mins to talk to the artist, which is not bad. I showed him the design I had in mind and he redrew it PERFECTLY, using a compass to make sure that the circles were flawless and aligning the symbols with a straightedge. He even helped me decide which way to orient the tattoo and resize it to fit on my body. The tattooing itself was a great experience, with surprisingly very little pain, and he was immensely focused on his work. However, he still took some time to chat and talk about music. We played Lil Wayne's new album and the studio had an all-around good vibe to it. After initially outlining the symbols, the artist made sure to go over the edges and fill them in completely. Overall, the tattoo itself came to $120, a price that I found to be reasonable (Ann Arbor has far higher prices) for the quality of the piece. Very thankful. read more

Most painful experience of my life and I didn't even end up with a piercing! Please don't go here to get pierced. My piercer was definitely unexperienced and unprofessional. I wanted my septum pierced. He pierced me once, but he took too long, so it started closing before he got the jewelry in, so he spent about 10 minutes trying to aggressively push the jewelry through. He eventually just took it out and repierced me. It was incredibly low and looked awful. This piercer just kept saying I should have told him I wanted it higher and tried to blame me. My friend previously had her septum pierced here and it looked great, perfect placement, and she didn't have to request anything special. Now I have two holes in my nose, I'm in a lot of pain, and I don't even have a piercing! I have 13 piercings and I know how this stuff is supposed to go. Worst tattoo shop I've ever been to. I got my smiley done and while piercing it he dropped the needle and then had to go in with another needle, he had an extremely hard time putting the ball on, that fell off five days later. I swallowed the bar while eating. I also got my septum done (same day, by another guy, did NOT come back) and the guy was EXTREMELY rough, I have tons of piercings (industrial, navel, nipples, etc.) and it was more painful than any I've ever had done. The placement of both were good and I had no issue with the aftercare, it was just a very bad experience in the shop. read more

Came here for a 20$ piercing. Walked in with a friend in the afternoon, and we didn't have to wait. Momo was helping us, and he was really patient. I was trying to decide between a cartilage and a rook, and he drew both options for me and did not pressure me at all. The piercing process was pretty painless actually, and he was able to get the jewelry in quickly. It's been about a week since I got my rook, and it is healing nicely (i think!). Overall, I would come back! The only reason why it didn't get 5 stars is because there wasn't a huge selection of jewelry to get pierced with. That's okay though, because I plan on changing the jewelry out when its healed anyways! read more

Took advantage of the $20 flat rate fee to pierce my nose. There was no long wait and I was in and out in no time. It's been approx. 3-4 months since I've had my nose pierced and I'm completely healed. The gentleman who pierced me was super sweet and was able to accommodate both me and my nerves. The only, only, only critique I have is how slow it took him to push the needle fully through my nose. He was going very slow- said he "didn't want the needle tip to puncture my lip" (which I appreciate... but c'mon). Minus the slow piercing process, I would definitely return for another piercing. read more

This was my first piercing (besides my lobes which I got as a baby), and I had a great experience. I got my tragus pierced on both sides for $60. The guy who did mine was super chill, and he did a great job. He drew where he was going to pierce it and asked if I liked the placement, which I really appreciated. Of course it hurt, but not as much as I expected. I did have to wait in line for a little because they were only taking one person at a time due to Covid. But once I got in, it was super quick; probably only took 10 minutes (including the paperwork and everything). My only complaint would be that the place did smell kind of like weed, but it wasn't like my piercer was high or anything. I'm very happy with my piercing, and I would recommend Tatted Up! read more

Got my nose pierced here and it was horrible. Whoever pierced it had no idea what they were doing and messed it up so bad I had to go down the street ten minutes later to liquid Swordz and had them re-peirce it on the other side. Worst day ever. Never going here again, no wonder why their piercings are so cheap. You get what you pay for. read more

Don't get your nose pierced from here! I went here for the $10 on all piercing sale and my experience was painfully slow. They pierced my nose which wasn't bad but than they had problems closing the piercing with its back piece. They kept messing around with my fresh pierced nose and I kept trying to keep my cool while tears rolled down my cheek. Then they told me they had to do the whole process over and repierce it, yay. After walking out angry & in pain, I was still excited about my new look. Once I got home, the back end of the stud fell out right when I used a Q-tip to clean it. So I used a plastic back from a different earing until I got a replacement the day after. I got a ring and cleaned it everyday but manage to get a bump on top a week or so after and still have it for over a month now. I just took it off today cause it so ugly that at this point I just want it to heal properly. read more
