This place has had constant problems since we moved in mid-December. First, the AC went out, and our apartment reached 88 degrees while it was only 81 degrees outside. Maintenance responded quickly and gave us a fan for the living room while they waited a week for a part to arrive. I understand delays during the holidays, and the maintenance guy was nice, but a single fan didn't help the bedrooms at all. The whole place was a sauna. The apartment was unbearable, and we couldn't sleep there. Thankfully, my roommate and I had somewhere else to stay. About a week or two later, the heater stopped working. It was freezing inside around 60 degrees while it was 25 degrees outside. Blankets weren't enough, we couldn't feel our toes, and there was even frost on my roommate's window. It was finally fixed the next workday, with a note on the door saying "unclogged heat and air." Now, as if that wasn't enough, I started the dishwater and water suddenly started flooding out from all around the sink, the dishwasher, and both the top and bottom drawers. I'm lucky I caught it in time. I walked away for a moment to check on something and came back to a flood. On top of that, the toilet in the master bathroom runs all night. Maintenance supposedly "fixed" it when they came for the AC weeks ago, but clearly it wasn't resolved. I also noted water damage on the dishwasher in our move-in report, but it seems like no one bothered to look into it. The leasing office has been just as disappointing. My roommate went back and forth in a long email chain with a leasing agent that led nowhere and eventually became rude and dismissive. Lydia Henslee was great when it came to getting us to sign the lease, but once we moved in and started having serious issues, she was no help at all and unwilling to truly listen to our concerns. Instead of addressing the problems, she focused on fact-checking everything as if we don't live here and aren't experiencing these issues firsthand. After dealing with a month of extreme heat, freezing cold, and ongoing maintenance problems, all we asked for was some form of compensation and it felt like we were brushed off. Apparently, the fan was supposed to fix everything. To make matters worse, my roommate is still waiting on a call she promised to make. At this point, it feels like we're being avoided altogether. All I want is to feel comfortable and at peace in my own home. Instead, it's been one problem after another. This place has been overwhelming, exhausting, and incredibly disappointing and it's only month 1 of living here. DO NOT MOVE HERE AT BEXLEY LAKE FOREST. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE! Like many other reviewers I would not recommend this property to anyone- even as a last resort. I moved into a unit I had reserved and put a deposit on a month in advance, only to discover immediately that it had not been cleaned even one bit, or properly maintained. Some of the issues I encountered included: walls and windows caked with dust, moldy food left on the balcony, dirty shoe prints, a broken disposal, broken ice machine, no hot water, non-functioning outlets, cabinets falling apart, and a permanently damaged bathroom mirror. On top of all that, MOLD. Its everywhere: in the dishwasher, sinks, bathtub, windows, and vents. Within the first night, ants and roaches had already invaded the unit. I did try to work with the leasing staff, but when I raised concerns and frustration I was told it was "my fault" for not submitting work orders. They insisted the apartment had been "professionally cleaned" and showed "no signs of mold." One maintenance worker even admitted no one had cleaned it, and when I used my own mold test it confirmed my suspicions. The so called "regional property manager" then gave me an ultimatum over a phone call where she dismissed all of my concerns: accept the apartment as is or move out, and decide within less than ONE DAY! At this point, I have given up on communication with Weinstein Properties. The lack of compassion, denial of responsibility, and blatant disrespect has been overwhelming. I am now pursuing legal action to hold them accountable. Do not move here unless you like negligent landlords, mold, and lots of bugs. read more

I am currently attempting to terminate my lease due to a permanent injunction I have in place, but my request has been denied. This complex has a troubling history--tragically, in December 2023, a woman lost her life at the hands of her husband within this community. Since living here, I've experienced a clear lack of urgency and empathy from management regarding serious concerns. The common areas are often dirty, maintenance issues are frequent, and communication has been difficult and dismissive. My personal experience with members of the management team, including Lydia, Allee, and Calli, has been disappointing. I do not feel safe or supported in this environment. Pet owners don't pick up after their pets here and the management does NOTHING. Want to go for a stroll around the complex? There's ton of poop and flies with it. Want to take your dog to the nice dog park on property? Your dog will run through all the dog poop left all over the park, and bring it home into your apartment afterwards! Not only is it so gross, but if a dog then licks their paws it can make them sick. I have complained about this and the front office has done nothing. Not even sending an email to the community. And this past week just to top it off, a resident threw a box of cat litter (with pee and poop in it) on the grass where it has sat in the hot sun for days. Has anyone cleaned it up? No. read more

I would give no stars if I had the chance. New apartment lookers, and current BEWARE. This complex is one of the most money-hungry insensitive leasing facilities I've ever rented from. After you've finished leasing, they would send you bills "claiming" that you've done damage to their property, even if you haven't. They will also hold YOU liable for maintenance issues that you do not have control over and still make YOU pay out of pocket for the inconvenience. They could truly care less once they send an unreasonable amount of a bill to you, and only give an extremely short time frame to pay it back. WORST apt complex ever. We moved half way across country from Oregon. I had sent in all our paperwork including my specialist psychiatrist letter of 7 years for my 2 dogs as emotion support. They said they would take the letter- we moved in and the manager- Amanda santos said it was not accepted that we needed to pay $900 for my dogs because we needed my psych from out of state to fill out some huge long disability form! Our apt flooded 2x within a week of living in it- it was FILTHY when we moved in. We chose to leave and took the 14 days not happy lease break. They then took $500 as " pet deposit" for 14 days of living there!!!!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. $500 of us living there leaving the apt cleaner then when we moved in! I contacted my attorney and will not accept them taking $500 as a 14 day pet deposit. Oh and also..... we have a 30 min video of us walking into the apt for the first time. HORRENDOUS! Filthy! Broken cupboards ect! They tried to charge us after 14 days of living there for carpet! When it was there fault our unit flooded so many times!!!! We have proof/ videos of how shitty this place is ran. I have sent an email back stating I will pursue legal action of my $500 dog deposit is not refunded. I've lived here for about two years. Quality apartment, maintenance is always available to help when needed, clean, and great amenities.

My husband and I were initially so excited to be moving into this community. But we are so glad we didn't!!!! About 20 days before our move in date, we were notified that due to an internal issue with an employee the lease that we signed was no longer valid. We had signed this lease 2 months prior and were shocked to get this information days before we were set to move. We had already given notice to our current complex and not to mention I was 6 months pregnant. We were not happy about this at all, and decided to move to another community due to the disorganization of their leasing office. We were promised a full refund of our deposit by Amanda and we felt like that was fair since the error was not our fault. Now almost 3 months later I cannot get a response from this community. I have emailed multiple times and no one has ever had an answer to when my refund will be processed or they just don't respond. So unprofessional! We are so disappointed in this community and it's lack of response for an issue that was their fault. I have dealt with MAA properties and Atherton Apartments in Frisco and have NEVER experienced this level of disregard for a prospective resident or resident. I have lived here almost a year now, and can honestly say that I love my apartment. Everyone has been super helpful in the leasing office - especially the manager, Amanda. They respond very quickly to any maintenance that needs to be done. If I put in a request in the evening they come first thing in the morning. The maintenance staff is also very professional and friendly. They get the job done quickly. The amenities are nice, and they keep the grounds clean. Just resigned my lease. :) read more

Bexley lake forest had an amazing staff, all tho she was three weeks in to working at these apartments, Kylie, did her best to make this as painless as possible and it definitely showed! I moved out in July of 2021. I received an invoice after move-out for carpet replacement. I contacted them and requested proof because the lease states no charges beyond normal wear and tear. I was the only occupant with no pets or children, but I lived there for 3 years. I never received proof or any further contact from the apartments so I assumed it was resolved, until it shows up on my credit report as collections today almost a year later. I called Bexley and spoke to Aimee who told me herself that there was no damage to the carpet beyond normal wear and tear but because I lived there 3 years and it was time to be replaced I was invoiced." So essentially if you choose to live here long enough for the carpet to need replacing, expect to pay for it. If you rent here don't leave without a walk-through or you can expect to receive an invoice. This property group is highly unethical! read more

I've lived here now for 5-6 years.... yes the management has changed now 3-4 times... I haven't seen too much change too much conversation to residence or anything different really in 3-5 different companies... I do realize that every 12 months my lease keeps going up... never down... and will get to a point after 5-6 years and keep going up on my lease I'll go find a newer place at same rate or cheeper... don't really know the staff currently bc they don't reach out... don't know any future plans... brand new complex is almost finished across street so maybe competition and if not maybe a brand new place... vs my old 7 plus year carpet that they won't replace... read more

I have been at this complex for almost 2 1/2 years, three leasing companies with Bexley being the third. Let's just say it hasn't been great! So I woke up last week completely stressed out thinking I had short timeframe before I needed secure a new apartment. I toured many properties and then I went to Bexley and I met Miranda Fox. Ohhhhh my goodness!!! I new instantly that I found and awesome place. She offered above and beyond no pressure customer service. For those properties with bad ratings, you need to met Miranda to see an example of what an awesome leasing consultant looks like. Bexley is great. I lived here for one year and let's just say it was a beautiful apartment but scary surrounding. In the year that I lived here, a postal worker got mugged by multiple men at the mailboxes, and a DEAD body was found in a vacant storage unit. With that being said, my main frustration is now when I don't live there. They are scammers and only care about your money. Management doesn't do their job and they lie to you so they can take your money even if you don't know better. I would definitely recommend renting elsewhere. I was charged for damages that I do not feel are accurate. I know for a fact that they take photos of the "damages", but upon request of said photos, I have been told repeatedly that they will need permissions from corporate. First off, if you are charging me for something, please provide me evidence of the "damages". Otherwise, the charges are illegitimate. Secondly, Candance (the property manager), told me on Friday, that she would send me photos and invoices of the damages. I have yet to receive them. It has now been 5 days. When I call the office, the manager is always "out of the office"... How convenient. I have been promised a follow-up call on multiple occasions, but yet, I am the one having to follow-up with them. And when I do get in contact with someone in the office, the only response I receive is, "I will have to check with my manager and/corporate". They are clearly not on the same page. The property manager promised to send me photos/invoices over 4 days ago, and I have yet to receive those. Nor will she return my phone calls. Unfortunately, this review was my last resort. I have exhausted all means to get this issue resolved. I would not recommend this community as a home. In your own interest, please lease elsewhere. read more

When it was Century at Lake Forest it was great! Never had any problems or anything but now since they changed owners and Bexley took over it has been downhill... Not satisfied with this new owner. Before you could call the office and the would answer on the first ring now you can't even get them to answer the phone. Can never get any answers about stuff. Got a letter that said my patio was "cluttered" cause it has 2 chairs on it.... so you're telling me that my patio should be empty with nothing on it and I can't go out there and enjoy it.... This place is a joke and I will not resign my lease or recommend anyone to come here... read more

I would give this place four stars if it wasn't for one issue that really has me upset; maintenance entering the unit without notice. I have woken up today with a stranger in my home without even a knock to know he was coming inside. Last time, I was in the shower when I could hear the key turning but my dog was barking so he did not enter that time. I would keep the deadbolt on but with two other roommates with different schedules that can be hard to know who is coming and going. We have address this issues many times and been reassured that it would not happen. Only to be told "well, it is in the file but I guess they didn't read it" As three young women it makes me anxious that someone can enter our home without even a knock. I used to want to recommend this place but sadly I will not recommend it to single women because of the anxiety I feel knowing that I can wake up to a stranger in my home without notice. We have emailed the manager yet again and hopefully this time things will be done but this is an issue I would want to know about before moving in. read more
