OUT of STATE MOVERS BEWARE!! I nearly noticed too late that this property has smoking and smoke-free buildings. However, they refer to their smoking buildings as "Apartment Buildings" and their smoke-free as "Smoke-Free Apartment Buildings" .. I feel fooled. Maybe I'm stupid, but I bet others will fall into this trap. Smoke-free is the norm in 2021. Referring to a smoking building as an apartment building when there is a very clear difference between a non-smoking and smoking apartment is a bad practice. You should specify "this is a smoking building" vs. "this is a smoke free building". Also, if during your search you just so happen to see available units that are not in a smoke-free building or "Apartment Buildings" it is not specified in the "view details" If you don't go the extra step of viewing the map on their website you can be tricked like I was into a smoking section apartment building. I emailed and called the staff and they are transitioning me to the unit that just became available AFTER I signed my lease and stated that it will be $150/mo more. I know I could have seen this but it's an easy mistake to make and the management didn't respond the way I would have expected them to. When I called them about my concern they put all the blame on me saying "you should have seen this if you clicked a couple more buttons" - but it wasn't obvious. I have a very poor taste in my mouth from this experience. They stated that the website states very clearly that there are smoking and non-smoking sections. Frankly, I strongly disagree.... I am rating them 2/5 stars for the move-in experience. I have not seen the campus in person as I currently reside in Pennsylvania. Given the response to my concern - family has history of asthma, I feel disrespected that something as critical as a smoke-free building was not disclosed during a ZOOM call I had with the staff. I feel tricked into doing business with this company because of this intentional choice. Be wary of any reviews here where the resident hasn't moved out yet, because move-out is where they get you! The staff were always friendly in person, but they are either not well-trained or not very motivated to do their jobs well. And if there's an issue, management has absolutely no interest in dealing fairly with an ex-resident. There were little things along the way, like when we moved in and they told us the wrong mailbox number and forgot to give us a pool/fitness center key - annoying but not that hard to fix. Or the times I had to find a Kinko's because there was no paper in the printer in the business center and I couldn't get a response from anyone in the office - annoying but hey, stuff happens. Or the many times the valet trash didn't get picked up, and all we could do was call the hotline and report it. But things got ugly when we moved out and asked if we could end our lease a few weeks early, so move-out aligned with the end of the month. They had us submit our desired move-out date via official form, and said they would try to accommodate us by listing the apartment and seeing if they could find someone to lease the place earlier. After a week, I checked in at the office to find out how we would know what the finalized date was, they said we'd be contacted once they knew, but we could also just keep checking back. After another week, I emailed again, since we needed to know what our move-in date would be at our next place before signing a new lease. They told me our official move-out date was confirmed for the end of the month. Great! We signed a lease, moved out at the end of the month, dropped off our keys, and our access to the facilities and Amazon hub for package deliveries was revoked. A month later, we got a bill for the one-week gap between when we moved out and the new tenants moved in, $400. Seems they had managed to rent the place out earlier than our original lease end date, but not as early as our desired move-out date, but didn't feel the need to notify us of the modification to our lease agreement in any way. And when we had emailed, the staff even said our move-out date was confirmed for our desired date, no mention of the gap. We disputed the charge with them, but at every level, management just said "You are responsible for the entirety of your lease, or until we are able to rent the apartment." We weren't disputing that, but we would have made different choices about where/when we moved next if we'd known we had the extra week. We knew it was our responsibility to pay rent until our official move out date, we just thought it should have been their responsibility to communicate honestly with us about when that date was! Instead of trying to find a fair solution, they just turned us over to debt collectors, so we shelled out the $$. A little sloppiness on the part of the staff can have a big impact if management doesn't care about making it right, and this place has the losing combination of sloppy staff and indifferent management. Rent at your own risk - mistakes will be made, and no one will care if they wind up costing you, the tenant, hundreds of dollars! read more

This place is beautiful, and in a great location. But be prepared for NOISE. SO much noise. Look. I've lived in a lot of apartments. I used to live in Sacramento California, in a university apartment complex. That was loud. This is louder. I don't know if the insulation between floors is just bad, or what. But that, coupled with the family that lives upstairs above us, has just nearly ruined our year here. We have reported them over 5 times. Now this isn't just "Oh man your footfalls are heavy, I don't like this." The footfalls are loud, but can't be helped by them. That's the poor structure or whatever. This is two young children obviously jumping from higher ledges, hitting the floor so hard that our light fixtures have literally started swaying. I don't know if our ceiling was repainted poorly before we moved it, but their jumping and stomping has literally dislodged paint chips. This is running the sink disposal for over a minute straight (that's not really noise complaint worthy, but it worries me?). This is way past midnight, racing through the apartment above us, using the hardwood as some kind of rollerblade rink, slamming the balcony doors so hard that, once again, the lighting fixtures shake. This is standing on the balcony screaming, straight up shrieking battle cries. This is dragging their metal scooters and bikes loudly down the stairwell, and then leaving them at the bottom for hours, sometimes overnight. Kids are great, they are. I love their energy. But when it's after 10 pm, it's a bit rough. Some nights we've taken sleeping pills so we can sleep through the stomping. When you live above someone, you should be considerate. Especially when we've reported them, the activity lessens for about 2 weeks. And then it picks up again. So it's possible to keep the peace. It just doesn't happen. The leasing office told us that we need to report them every time it happens. Look, if we did that, I would be reporting them at least 5 or 6 times a week. Also, a lot of the time it is just one GIANT crash that makes our hearts stop. And then even when it's prolonged, we don't get a person to respond for over an hour. The noise is usually "finished" by that point. Leasing office tells us to report anyway, that they need to document every time we report. But a few times our calls and e-mails have not been answered when we report them. Now, I haven't been reporting them since this whole pandemic thing started, because I'm not heartless and I know that they're probably having a hard time adjusting as well. Also I know for a fact nothing would be done. No matter how many times the leasing office speaks to them, it does. not. stop. So yeah we've also stopped calling because what's the point, no one is helping us. But since we are all home now, all day - the noise has become nearly unbearable. It happens all day now, and we're trying to work from home. Some times it's near impossible. It's 9:30 on Monday morning and it's already been very hard to focus. It sounds like they're having their own Broadway STOMP-revival. The view, the location, we love that. Maintenance? They're great in our experience. Our other neighbors? They're wonderful. But the noise. This noise is just awful. read more

I lived here for 14 months, and the apartment itself is really great. High end finishes and large rooms. The complex amenities are also awesome, and maintenance is always excellent about getting anything you need done quickly. We had several issues with management for the first few months of our lease, and a general lack of response from the office about any of those problems. However, Christine has been the property manager for a while now, and she is phenomenal. She is responsive and backs up her words with actions. I removed one star because your neighbors are going to be annoying, no matter what building you live in. Kids ride bikes in the parking lot, unattended by their parents all the time. People literally cannot park their cars inside the lines of parking places to save their lives - so they are so close on many occasions it is hard to get in your car. Other pet owners also let their dogs run around off leash, and apparently prefer not to pick up their poop. Nothing the apartment personnel can do about that, but definitely worth mentioning if you're considering living here. read more

Very Dishonest. I told them I need to move out early. They had me sign an agreements so they could list my apartment. Mine was the only one bedroom left and nothing happened in a month or so. Then they sent me the notification that the apartment was leased. So we stayed out 90 day noticed and moved. Two weeks later they called me and tell me I owe them the rest of the lease money. That the apartment was not leased. I told them I had the email notification that is was leased and no one told me anything different. I would have stayed longer if I knew that. I think they are lying, No way would it take three months to lease that prime spot unit. These apartments are in high demand. The one above me only stayed vacant 30 days so I know they are misleading me. I have no tolerance for dishonest human beings. They told me the notification I got that it was rented was meaningless. Meaningless? Hmm.. Maybe to the dishonest folks out there. Attorney time I am sad to say. Well, and bad review time. Be careful with these people. read more

From the very first phone call my family made, Bexley at Preston stood out from it's competition. Alexis Williams was professional, prompt, knowledable and friendly with every interaction. As we were moving to the area from over 800 miles away, the decision was made sight unseen. Luckily, it never felt that way. Alexis answered every question we had. We could view floor plans on the website. When we made the obvious choice to go with Bexley at Preston we were able to have all paperwork done online or at least ready for the day we arrived. We've been thrilled with our newly renovated apartment and over the moon that we have a washer and dryer included in the apartment - laundry day is now any day. Bexley at Preston is pet friendly too! (A bonus as we look to add a pet to our family.) Though I cannot sing enough praises about Alexis, everyone who works here has been very helpful and professional.
