THEN ARTISAN AT BRIGHTLEAF HIRED A LAWYER TO TRY TO KEEP ME QUITE!! Thats right because I complained about having to call 911 and the loud conditions due to the neighbor having screams for HELP and loud banging Artisan at Brightleaf threatened to evict me! Dont believe me? Ok, Here are the police reports and letter threatening where Artisan at Brightleaf stated I had , "unreasonable expectations of apartment living". So Artisan thinks the apparent sounds of a beating are reasonable expectations. Don't live at Artisan At Brightleaf. They tried to stop me from posting reviews about them due to KNOWINGLY being in the wrong I feel. They sicked their attorneys on me after multiple tennant complained about a neighbor being loud all hours of the night!!! To the point I couldnt sleep, I am talking wall shaking, jack hammering loud, screming in the parking light, brawling by the window loud. Multiple people (tennants) were comlaining about the activity. Don't live here. I moved into a 1st floor apartment. The person who livedon the second floor was constantly fighting with his girlfriend all hours of the night.This included hearing her SCREAMING for someone to call the cops. The second floor tenant was not supposed to have his Girlfriend over every single day as she was not on the lease (was allegedley prohibitted to have people over past a certain number of days).I as well as the upstairs neighbor had to call the police multiple times. The noise occurred all hours of the night and was constant.I complained to Artisan @ Brightleaf management and got lies and the run around. I then come home one day to find that Artisan @brightleaf had put a threatening letter of eviction on my door and the third floor tenant, whom had done nothing wrong. Essentially it stated we are sick of you complaining about your neighbor. Artisan at Brightleaf had zero reason to threaten eviction and even admitted such in the letter. I was previously informed of no violations of the lease I have committed. I was being threatened eviction for , "not getting along with my neighbor". I had NEVER even spoken to the man or the Girlfriend. Artisan at brightleaf (greystar) had previously told me they were evicting the problem tenant. I had provided MULTIPLE POLICE REPORTS documenting the issues. In addition the upstairs neighbor had called the police MULTIPLE TIMES. The end result was no apology and they let the problem tenant out of his lease. Artisan Brightleaf staff stated they were hesitant to do anything because the tenant felt he was being racially discriminated against. I never received compensation for having to speak to attorneys, have my time wasted, be lied to , etc. DON'T LIVE HERE In the letter I am attaching from Artisan's attorney its looks like all three tenants had issues. FALSE it was me and the third floor tenant who were complaining about the person on the middle floor. I WAS NEVER ADVISED PREVIOUSLY OF ANY complaints against me before getting this letter. In fact i was told multiple times by Artisan staff they were getting rid of the problem tenant. When I asked the Apartment Manager why I was being threatened with eviction I was told it was because I complained to Grey Star corporate. I PROVIDED AT LEAST THREE (3!!!!!) POLICE REPORTS DOCUMENTING ISSUES. In addition Artisan at brightleaf told the second floor tenant who was complaining about him, which is obviously a bad idea sense he had shown violent tendencies. I also included a bit of the letter a got from their attorney stating I should not post anything online. I also never accepted their "agreement", and they never filed for eviction, because you cant legally evict someone for NO REASON. I feel that this was harrasment by Artisan Brightleaf, threatenting to evict me for complaing about things any normal person would. read more

Why shouldn't you live at Artisan at Brightleaf 1. Incompetent Management- The Apartment Manager will get upset with YOU, if you complain about another tenant. This includes complaing that your neighbor is too loud at 3am and brawling outside making your apartmnet unhabital. The stance of Artisan at Brightleaf will be you have unreasonable expectations for apartment living. 2. Lack of background checks- While I submitted my application and approved a back ground check, the check was never done. How do i know? I ran a credit check. Why is this bad? A lot of Riff Raff lives here. 3. As if loud neighbors was not bad enough, this is compounded by in my opinio shotty construction. Although the apartments are pretty new, the construction is poor. Doors do not close right, the molding is already cracking, and the walls are PAPER THIN. 4. To add even more issues with the noise a LOUD motor bike has taken to driving around in cicles late at night. You can even see on the speed bumps where there is tire tracks from this bike. 5. Trash- it piles up. See attached pictures. 6. DOG feces- It's all over NO ONE picks up after their dog. This doesnt bother me as i do not go into the grass but if you do, you will step in dog crap. 7. Spiders - There all over see pictures. 8. The gym- It smell so bad it is unusable. They make a big deal about the rock wall but it sucks. NO ONE USES IT. 9. OFFICE staff- Once you move in their useless. If you have an issue you are on your own. Also they are exceedingly rude beyond belief. 10- Price- You can find similar apartments in the area that are larger with the same modern appliances for less money. Oh yeah i'd really like to highlight the fact that if your neighbors are BRAWLING on the stairwell SCREAMIN at something like 3AM almost nightly, they say its your fault for not getting along with your neighbor and threaten to evict you. Also going higher up in Grey Star only further their resolves to ignore you complaints and increases their harassment of you. I.E. send you threatening letter of eviction from lawyers, going to your neighbors to try and get "dirt" on you when NONE exist. Also you can even document your issues such as police reports showing issues of domestic disputes and noise calls and still they wil try to blame YOU for complaining. I am going to post the letter Artisan sent me (which they admit they have no reason to threaten eviction) threatening me eviction, the PUBLIC police record I have showing my neighbors was being Loud and have disturbances, letters from their attorney which i feels shows harrasment, etc. It will all be posted shorty to stand by. read more

This place sucks. I don't know another way to describe it. There is LOUD rap music blared all hours of the night at the pool area, and on the parking lot. I have been woken up many time by people screaming in the parking lot. The walls are paper thin and you will hear everything your neighbor does, and i mean EVERYTHING. Also, apparently my neighbors have no jobs since they are up until 4 am every night, keeping me awake. The staff is rude, especially the Apartment Manager. Also the staff likes to add mystery charges on your bill. Be prepared to spend big money on a surcharge if you want to pay your rent online. You will want to pay your rent online because the staff is so freaking rude once you sign a lease. The staff is also judgmental and thinks they are better than everyone. Even thought the Apartments are new, a few months after you move in, expect stuff to start breaking due to CHEAP construction (see noise issues). My doors do not close right, the molding is cracking, the wall has a crack, the walls are paper thin, etc,etc. There also seems to be a really bad spider problem. In addition the trash situation is a joke. You will pay big bucks for valet trash. But the trash is often not picked up due to arbitrary, example a ordinary trash bag i set out, was left with a note stating it was too heavy. It was approx. 10 pounds. Also on the weekend the dumpsters are not emptied and as a results trash overflows on to the street and blows around everywhere, including your car. The apartment Manager does try to host apartment socials, but due to her incompetence fails. Example This is an actual email from ARTISAN at BRIGHTLEAF We just got word from Baguettaboutit that they are still tied up at Duke's campus today, and won't be able to make it out to our property. LLLLL We're not feeling the food truck love, and are all pretty bummed about the last two week's cancellations. If anyone has any new food trucks, or know any truck owners personally, please pass their info along. We want to have a stellar all-star cast lined up for May, so let us know who you want out here. The building is a facade; it appears lovely from the outside but then you realize it was made cheaply and quickly. When we moved in, I noticed chunks missing from the counter-tops and floors were lifting. The walls are cracking, my door does not close properly. The adhesive around the shower is coming apart. The ice maker does not work and the windows do not lock properly. No one lived here before us, so there really is no excuse. I can hear my neighbor's dog barking on the first floor, and I can hear my adjacent neighbor's television through the wall. There is a mandatory charge for valet waste removal service that is awful. The trash people sometimes do not remove trash based on arbitrary reasons - too heavy or improperly tied. They leave your trash with a note. One day I found the lid of the trashcan broken off and lying on another floor because someone was too rough with it. For the cost, I would rather take the trash to the dumpster myself, except on Sundays when it's overflowing into the street. Huge piles of trash everywhere, blowing across the street. It's disgusting! Also disgusting is the fact that NO ONE cleans up after their dogs! Also, I noticed mysterious charges appearing on my bill for unknown reasons. There is a fee to pay your rent online which is ridiculous. I would still rather pay it than have to converse with the people that work here!!!! The staff is so judgmental and incompetent. In fact, everyone who lives here is generally unfriendly and vain. The staff tries to plan events to encourage a feeling of community, but the events must have been planned by a drunk frat boy (i.e.: last month was a corn hole tournament). They occasionally arrange for a food truck to stop by, but this has been cancelled several times the day of the event. Also the gym usually is unusable due to having too many people in it. It is too small for a complex of this size. It also suffers from a serious smell problem. Last but not least, my favorite Artisan memories are of the brawls that have occurred outside my apartment by unruly neighbors at 3 a.m. I truly believe they let anyone live here - no background checks required. DO NOT MOVE HERE. It's unclean and unsafe. There are plenty of beautiful "luxury" apartments that are closer to Brier Creek and better maintained. Not really surprised about Emily's reviews. This place is garbage, and that is how the staff will treat you. I was threatened eviction for calling the police. The Apartment Manager at the time Kristen stated that she "shouldn't have to play mommy". VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I was threatened eviction because my neighbor had LOUD SCREAMS for help all hours of the night. Check out the photo section for proof. I could not sleep due to these screams. The couple would loudly argue in common spaces (the stairs) run loudly up and down them, scream profanity at each other. Not to mention other tenants were complaining about this couple and were also threatened with eviction. All the neighbors had the issue with the one apartment. One of the people who were involved daily with the fights wasn't even on the lease. I contacted Greystar management Cliff and his response was to hire a high priced lawyer to intimidate me. I was told by Artisan at brightleaf staff they didn't want to do anything because Greystar was afraid of a lawsuit because the problem tenant was a minority. The odd thing was race had nothing to do with it. Multiple people who were complaining were the same minority as the tenant. Long story short I had to waste time getting a lawyer, spend money and time all to be treated like TRASH by artisan at brightleaf and greystar. I never had any other issues where I have lived, I pay my rent on time, etc. This was HORRIBLE, I tell everyone to stay away from Greystar owned properties. I even provided police reports to them, which showed loud domestic disputes and Greystar just let them continue to make noise all hours of the night. Not sleeping really had a negative impact on my work performance. They will also nickle and dime you on fees. read more

I like how you can tell the other reviews are written by staff members of Artisan. Its ok people yell, I live in apartment I am supposed to hear people SCREAMING. People are not quiet past 10 pm. I was worken up at 3:30 am on a THURSDAY by people fighting next to my window. Trash piles up all the time. The STAFF is the worse part about living here. They are judgemental and LIARS. They will tell you whatever you want to hear then never follow through. Then if you still complain, switch tactics and blame you. NO ITS NOT MY FAULT PEOPLE ARE LOUD. IT IS NOT REASONABLE TO LISTEN TO PEOPLE FIGHT EVERY NIGHT AT 3AM. That is not as the Apartment Manager put it. " part of living in an apartment".Same thing with having to listen to VERY loud music in the parking lot, AKA BASS bumping rap music all hours of the night.. Trash service is expensive and hit and miss. Ihate having to always deal with the Staff because they always include a mystery charge on my rent.The Gym is always packed and does indeed smell funky.
