It's been the easiest apartment living experience and when my lease came up for renewal, I was able to find an option that was similar in price to my current rate. The grounds are well kept and the amenities are great. Only slight con is the Amazon Hub Lockers go down sometimes - but that is out of the control of desk staff. When it does, there is consistent communication and updates from them.

They use loud machines that can be heard from miles away. Since April, it is practically an every day thing. I contacted management, and they were really nice. Stating they have 40 acres to maintain and it 'shouldn't be every week.' Last week was every day except Friday. This week they were only here a few hours Monday morning, no Tuesday, but here again Wednesday at 8am in the morning and as if now it's nearly 2. They did the lawn last week, so they are out here trimming and blowing the leaves. It's really excessive for no reason. I am a school teacher and would love to enjoy my morning coffee on my porch, but nope. Got loud machines ripping through all the time. If you want peace and quiet or god forbid you have a baby lord..

Updating my review after a year and about 7 months living here. I am still happy here. The only…read moremajor hiccup I've had has been my a/c going down in February. You may be thinking, "why are you using your a/c in February?" Well, to the apartment complex's credit, the buildings and apartments are very well insulated. If there is a string of warm-ish days, it becomes necessary to kick the a/c on or open the windows. The maintenance manager Curtis was very receptive to my service request for the a/c. It did take over a month to get it totally fixed but it was not 90 degrees out so I'm cutting some slack here. A few fixes were tried before it was determined that one of the coils had to be replaced due to a leak. It is odd how a building that is as old as I've been living here has this problem but that is more on the construction company maybe. Upon my request Curtis gave be regular updates as to the progress of fixing the a/c. The office staff is sort of forever rotating but with most major management companies with multiple complexes, this is normal. The staff has always been good at responding to e-mails and requests so no complaints there. I do see continuous improvements. One such announcement that I've seen recently is a revamp of the landscaping, which has been kind of dreary for my time here. Props to the staff for recognizing this and applying a fix. I do see prices continue to rise for the apartments, but again, this is normal with the current rental scene. This will probably be the driving factor to make me move out upon my lease renewal in August. I imagine I will see my rent go up to an unaffordable rate for me. Overall, I would recommend this complex. Good location, nice apartments, quick maintenance, good office staff and amenities.

Update #1: There…read morewas a huge ant hill on the base of a tree that my dog walked into the other day. Thankfully it was close to the communal car wash, so I was able to run him over there and get the ants off him quickly. He hated every second of this, and the ants somehow ended up biting me to shreds, but I got them off him. After that, I took him back to my apartment and then walked back down to the office to share this with the staff, thinking they would share with the exterminators to avoid other issues. But, everyone looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wanted to share the location of this ant hill and why. One of their newest staff members followed me outside (J thank you for coming with me and I'm sorry you got elected for this by default, but I very seriously appreciate you) and made note of the issue. Update #2: Someone mentioned the bad landscaping in another review and prior to moving in I kind of rolled my eyes about it... right? Bc with no context it's an odd thing to be upset about. But here is the thing.... It's a very dog friendly complex... SO.... Dead grass and random sticking up metal parts and holes in the ground = not the best place to walk your dog. Add a bunch of dogs, aerated turf, lots of rain, Straight up dirt with the metal bits and mess. I don't like it. At all. Update #3: Someone before me posted about the fire alarm and said it was painful to hear. I've now experienced it and can agree. This fire alarm is so loud that I couldn't get my cats out of my bedroom, my dog cried the entire walk downstairs and my ears still hurt badly from being either in my apartment, on my balcony or being outside. The video I posted is only of outside. But hopefully you get the gist. Thank God there was no actual fire today Bc I would not have been able to save all my animals. Update #4: the stomping above me never ends. It wakes us up at night almost daily and I miss sleep. I captured a video of it one afternoon for reference. 100% can't wait to move out.

"The Height of Urban Luxury" ???…read more Southpoint Village can only be referred to as a "luxury" apartment complex in the same sense that jumping out of a 10th floor window can be called a way to exit a building. As of this writing, it is Memorial Day Weekend and the pool, which is supposed to be open year-round, is empty and nowhere near ready for use. The only community grills are locked inside the fence alongside sun-bleached, grimy furniture that evokes a long-forgotten roadside motel. In keeping with that aesthetic, at least half a dozen abandoned cars are scattered throughout the parking lot. It is inconceivable that management hasn't noticed these cars. As my photos show, some lack license plates and have flat tires. While the units are spacious in terms of total square feet, the layouts are poorly designed. Massive dining areas cut heavily into the living rooms, and in most layouts, the kitchens are cramped. The fake wood floors are impossible to get clean, and the hot water tanks are too small if you happen to have long hair or simply enjoy a good shower. As for the appliances, they are beyond terrible--it's as if someone traveled back in time and raided a warehouse in the Soviet Union. The staff are personally very nice, but it does not substitute for their incompetence. Aside from failing to prepare the pool for summer or address the abandoned vehicles, their communication is abysmal. To announce a mandatory maintenance entry, management bypassed email and the community app entirely. Instead, they opted to post a single paper printout at one specific office entrance. Because of this, I was getting out of the shower when maintenance knocked a few times and immediately began unlocking my front door. In any other complex this wouldn't be an issue, but these doors cannot be deadbolted from the inside to prevent staff entry. There are a lot of apartments within a few miles of here. If you want luxury, or the guarantee of privacy, I suggest you look elsewhere.

We had scheduled a tour of this complex when we were in town looking to relocate to the Chapel…read moreHill/Durham area. When we arrived, there was nobody in the office, in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday. We finally met up with the leasing agent, who informed us there were no elevators on the property. My husband, who is a wheelchair user, was unable to even see the unit she had available and she then went on to tell us that some of the amenities were down a flight of stairs. Considering this property was built in 2006, this is literally illegal. It is fine to have some units only accessible by stairs, but the common areas MUST be accessible per the ADA. This was a very short tour and I will probably be reaching out to the management company as well. This is absolutely unacceptable in 2023. Besides that, there was nothing special about the community, and we were not even shown the pool area, or other amenities. It was all under renovation so hard to tell what was construction and what was just the state of the community. Fine if you want the bare minimum with a mall in your backyard, but if you want anything above that, look elsewhere. I cannot support a company that doesn't abide by the laws for equal access.

If I could rate them lower I would. When I moved in it took several months to get everything working, from my sink falling out of my counter, to a moldy washing machine and broken dryer, broken heat during a big freeze for over 72 hours, I've seen it all. I paid so much extra in utilities because my hot water heater was old and breaking constantly. Management also refused to answer reasonable questions, such as the brand of rock salt they used in the winter (my dog had ingested it and I needed to figure out the tox report for her vet team). I did not feel safe living here, I nearly got hit by several cars speeding, accosted by other residents and vistors, and someone lacked the ability to control their dog. I had to physically pull a 45+ lbs dog off of my 12 lbs one. My upstairs neighbor was loud, smoked (in a smoke free community), and when I complained I was told "he's been gone for months," "Nobody lives up there," etc when I've seen him go home every day. I was told once to confront him myself by management because they were too short staffed to do it themselves. I once found threatening notes from and to other neighbors and weapons such as crowbars stuck in the ground. Oh, also nobody picks after themselves. Maintenance is incompetent and cost me several hundred dollars in medical expenses, after I alerted them of my vents being filthy and causing my allergies to me to urgent care multiple times. My doctors all instructed me to avoid my allergens, and the head of maintenance ignored my instructions and blew the filthy vent crud all over my apartment to "clean it." The entire time I lived here, I thought I was going crazy from all the gaslighting from the staff. I attempted to speak to the property manager SEVERAL times and she refused to acknowledge me. Her underlings also covered for her and deflected at every chance they got. They would constantly acknowledge my experience here was terrible and they will do their best to "improve" but in the end nothing was ever done. Do not waste your time, money or energy here.

DO NOT LIVE HERE…read more There is a ton of apartment rental supply coming online - choose to stay any place but here! Recommended alternatives: Foster on the Park [across the street & opening shortly] or West Village. Luckily wrapping up a 20-month experience which has been sub par in many ways: 1 - Irresponsible Management: Greystar is a joke. Since the previous manager left ~10 months ago, things have gone downhill. In our instance they raised our rental price by 70% for a short-term month to month lease necessary to bridge to my wife's graduation! If you have an uncertain planned rental term, you're in for a ride - with your fate turned over to some unknown algorithm and inaccessible 'pricing analyst.' 2 - Facility Deterioration: Common areas are not as well taken care of, especially since management turned over. Trash rooms always have some unwelcome surprise, hallways routinely have trash unaddressed from the 'valet' and grills / workout facilities are inconsistently cared for. 3 - Non-existent Ownership: First off, our close friends at Greystar will not give contact information, but informed us they sent grievances on our behalf. Unsurprising, we received no response - typical of rent seekers.

These apartments are older and have their drawbacks, but my experience renting from Trinity…read moredefinitely makes up for any negatives. I rented a duplex unit here for 2 years. We loved the older charm of the unit (hardwoods, high ceilings, huge windows), and the kitchen was nicely updated. Some of the drawbacks were the cost of utilities because the home wasn't well insulated, and the occasional maintenance issue, but these are just old property issues and not Trinity specific. We were always super impressed with their responsiveness to any maintenance issues. This is a real stand out to us in terms of positives, and made a great impression. Also, they are incredibly fair with returning the security deposit, which you don't see very often! The people working in the office are all very kind and helpful. We wholeheartedly recommend these apartments to anyone looking for an attentive landlord, as long as your okay with dealing with the charms of older properties.

#123/2016 Another…read morecouple and I showed up to the Trinity offices and owner Guy Solie took us out to view his available units. Once inside the Murchison apartments, the other couple pushed me aside and practically bowled me over to be first in the door, pounding Guy with questions then informing him they "probably" wanted the place but had "one more place to see and they'd be back soon" and abruptly left. Guy looked at me with a friendly smile and said, "Can I give you a quick tour?" I loved the place instantly: the big windows, spacious living area and hardwood throughout. The kitchen was as small as a postage stamp (recent photos show they expanded and remodeled it) and said I was ready to sign. He smiled and said, "I'm so glad you do. Those other folks weren't very polite; you seem like you'd be a very nice tenant." Guy was a terrific landlord and true to Trinity's website, the apartments were a great value, especially since they were close proximity to Duke University. I rented two apartments from Trinity at the Murchison Apartments on Demerious Street and Georgetown Apartments, my favorite being Georgetown because it had a large eat-in kitchen and pantry and two spacious bedrooms upstairs. (Murchison was a little quirkier and smaller, it was still a cute place. It had a fantastic storage area under the stairs where I stashed Christmas decorations and luggage). Both apartments were townhouses and very cozy with central air conditioning, a *must for those sweltering summers in the South. Both apartments were very well maintained by Trinity. After Guy had bought the Georgetown apartments he asked if we'd like to take a look. It was literally dollars more a month with an extra bedroom and extra 1/4 bath. He even let me choose the carpeting and linoleum from (4) samples and remodeled it fully before we moved in. If I ever moved back to the Triangle area, I'd call Guy for help navigating the real estate market since he is a very savvy real estate investor and/or rent from him again. All these years later, I still have the move/out form with a personal note from Guy that reads, "Thanks for leaving the place in such super shape!" All these years later, fond memories from a fabulous landlord. If you're looking for an apartment in Durham or Raleigh, start with Trinity Apartments.
