Radar Toys is my new favorite toy store. I'm kind of annoyed I didn't know about it before today…read more But I'll definitely be back. My husband was looking for a small local toy store to go buy a birthday gift for our baby nephew. So this is the store we picked. We'd planned to go to Target as a backup plan. I'd also fully expected we would go in here and find something and have to buy it on Amazon because it would be significantly cheaper. But that wasn't the case, and that made me so happy. Their prices are absolutely reasonable, even for things that are normally insane and overpriced. I was really impressed. The staff that are working clearly love their job and are incredibly helpful. They greeted us when we walked in, let us explore, and answered all of our questions, taking us to certain aisles and showed us things. We were definitely welcomed in the store. We ended up buying two toys for our nephew's first birthday, and I'm definitely coming back when Christmas comes closer. This is such an amazing small local business to support and everyone should take the time to stop by.

So stopping at Bree's Way, which is a new-to-me store (I'm not sure it was here even four years ago when I came home to visit) was a must stop. The woman there was really friendly, but they didn't have anything that called to me. Their jewelry selection was ok but limited; mostly rings and some pendants. They sell some chains for the pendants. They also have a lot of the standard Tarot decks, some esoteric and occult-related merchandise, posters, crystals, and so on. Parking was not bad for me when I visited, but there's not a lot of parking on Alder here. And if you don't know how to parallel park, probably best to avoid parking on the street. There's a parking lot about a block and a half down the street.

What I appreciated most is that she never once pushed products on us. Her approach is thoughtful and collaborative, and she genuinely wants your space to feel like you. On top of that, she's hilarious, warm, and incredibly kind--working with her just feels easy and fun. We're expecting a baby soon, and she went out of her way to get us a card and even offered to bring us food. That level of care is rare and meant a lot to us. She's also impressively fast and efficient without sacrificing quality. If you're looking for someone with amazing taste who is also just a genuinely wonderful human, Kania is it. Highly recommend.
