I used to be a huge fan of BevMo and then I realized there were several things that pushed me away. Those things included the lacking craft beer selection and the fact that they keep their booze locked up like some random liquor store. Well needless to say had been using other stores to satisfy my needs and had been pretty happy about it. However, BevMo is closer to me than my favorite store so I've given it another whirl. I like that the customer service is great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a great Chardonnay you can probably find someone that will introduce you to something fabulous. This store is laid out nicely and it's pretty easy to find things. It's always clean and I love that they have cheeses and crackers so you can put together a charcuterie board without having to go to a whole other store. The things that kinda keep me away are that the booze is still locked up; the wine selection isn't great if you're looking for something outside of the norm, you can't buy craft beer in singles unless you buy bombers. Ok, I understand you have a Glenlivet 100 year locked up but is there a need for Hpnotiq to be locked up? I mean, who's even still drinking Hpnotiq anyway? Why is it hard to find a Gewurztraminer? I know it's not super common but in a place like BevMo there should be more than one option. Lastly, why can't I buy 12 oz beer bottles in singles? Maybe I want to create a 6 pack so I can try different things and I don't want 22 oz of beer. Super disappointed in the service provided at this specific BevMo. I placed an order for a keg a month before I needed it . I was told the specific price, what it included, and how the process would work and wrote everything down in my notes. 3-4 days before my Pick up date I called the store to confirm that my order would be there on time and confirmed the pricing and details in my notes with the employee over the phone. The day I go to pick up I was assisted by a female Manager who was rude, and gave no customer service whatsoever. Instead of the 190 price I was told by two separate employees on two separate dates, she quoted me 303 dollars. I was baffled as that's over 100 dollars more than what I was told. She then proceeded to tell me that my deposit for the tap was no longer refundable which the other employees never mentioned. I had text confirmations and specific dates and times of when I contacted them. She didn't offer to help resolve the issue or look up details , instead I was forced to pay 300 for a keg of beer becauSe it was already too late to get it elsewhere . All she did was say "sorry about that" over and over without providing options or resolutions. read more

One of the few things that I miss from Nevada is the universal availability of alcohol, where they understand that sometimes you need to buy a pint of store-brand rum at 3:30 a.m., and they don't ask questions. Here in Seattle, it's a pain in the ass to buy booze --- you have to know where the liquor stores are and plan your trips in advance for anything stronger than wine, and heaven forbid you should try to acquire alcohol on a Sunday. Which is why stepping into BevMo was like a breath of fresh, 100-proof air. BevMo is short for Beverages & More, but the abbreviated version is more fun to say, so that's what people call it. And indeed their name does not lie: they have beverages, and they have more. Pretty much everything you need for a party can be obtained here, from beer and wine to hard alcohol and mixers, including premium brands and ones you've never heard of. They even have an impressive selection of olde-tyme and obscure sodas and soft drinks, and some gift sets, party supplies, and barware. During the holidays, they have some nice glass sets and margarita kits and stuff like that. Really, my only complaint is their lack of salty snacks --- they have an aisle or two of crackers and things, but no chips or supermarket brands, so you'll still have to make an extra stop to stock up on food for your party. Bah. On my most recent visit, my friend was getting a keg for his party, and overall the process went pretty smoothly. He had ordered a few days in advance, and was worried that the order-taker had gotten it wrong, which she in fact had (switching Coors for Coors Lite). But it just so happened that they keep a few kegs hidden in the back, and they were able to substitute Bud, which worked out fine. The service was kind of slow and leisurely, but the staff was nice, and they cheerfully wheeled the keg out to the car and helped us load it. We had no problems with the keg itself, and got the $90 keg deposit back when we returned it the next day. Overall, BevMo is a great place for all your boozing needs, and the sheer variety of alcohol they carry will make you want to wander around open-mouthed for a while. The prices seem pretty reasonable, too. If you need mass quantities of booze for your next party --- and what party doesn't? --- BevMo is the place to go. read more

Came here today to pick up a red wine. I knew of the wine maker but wasn't sure if I had a cab or merlot the last time I had it. So I went and asked a worker if they can point to me on where it was since I couldn't find it. He looks in the computer system and said "it's expensive." I'm thinking to myself, I didn't ask you the price and don't judge me on if I can afford it or not. Anyways he points to the cabinet on where the wine was at. I then asked him, "why did you say it was expensive." And told him I found it really offensive on that comment. Came here to get blk. Water and ended up buying alcohol as well. :) the blk water came in only the 16oz here, but if you haven't tried it... Please do! Trace amounts of fulvic acid makes the water alkaline! (Ph of 7.0-9.0) it's good for you! Especially good for hangovers since it absorbs faster than regular water. The fulvic acid is also what makes the water black. So it's kind of really cool but don't be scared!! I love the taste when it's ice cold!! It's very "wet" water. (Doesn't leave my mouth dry) Anyways, we were helped by an amazing associate! He had a great personality and was very cheerful! Oh Total Wine & More please forgive me, I was in between stores but that is no excuse. My wallet won't forgive the $20 extra I paid at BevMo. I even got the privilege of bad service and that special attitude of a 20-something that will make some man very happy...the day their divorce is final! Please don't think me harsh, this little Junior won't be on the Nordstrom customer service team anytime soon. First, I needed some Citron Vodka (the $22 bottle) which is locked in the cabinet, while 3 employees sit in the back laughing at their own jokes. I got it about 5 mins later. $4.50 more per bottle than Total Wine. I went to the fridge section - I wanted a cold Belgium Beer. Not a one to be found. Ok, warm beer until the ice/water kick in. FYI...each beer was $2 more per bottle than Total Wine. Even the Club Soda was $0.30 more per bottle. Up at the counter the gentleman in front of me was questioning the price of a 4 pack of Belgium beer. When the snotty confirmation of the price was given he turned to look at me. I said I thought the price was high as well. Upon which she said we "should shop someplace else then and pay for the gas to drive there" (that was the best advice I received at BevMo and from now on, I will follow that advice). The manager was behind me pretending not to hear this exchange -- either that or suffering from rectal cranial inversion. I am extremely disappointed to have to post this. I ordered an ACE hard apple cider keg for my husband's birthday party in advance. Tried to pay for it over the phone when I ordered it with "Steve" and he said they take payment upon pick up. We were told to pick it up on the day of the party (saturday 8/22/15) and pay then. Low and behold- saturday rolls around and my husband goes to pick up the keg. "Oh- someone was suppose to call you yesterday- sorry about that." They never got our keg and never let us know. We then couldnt get a keg of it anywhere on such late notice. Needless to say we will no longer be going to this Bevmo with their poor service and lack of consideration & communication with their customers. I love this place! Everyone is very helpful in guiding you through the massive collection of wines and also figuring out what would be best for the specific occasion. The store is always clean and tidy. I just love looking through all the bottles to see all the different kinds of drinks there are. Gotta love the beer and wine tastings too! Only a couple bucks for 5-6 tastes. Really cant beat that. They dont pour alot, but its perfect to find out whether or not you like something. read more

I come here mainly for Schlitz (Gusto), the old school beer. You know it's the kind my father drank in the '70s. I also found Olympia Beer here too! Good prices on beers, and of course there is a wide selection of wine. The one thing that bothered me, was I was asked for my ID and the clerk swiped it into his register! I'm officially done with it, or this one at least. It is never stocked and even when it is, what is it stocked with? I'm a bartender and needed a bottle of oloroso sherry and apricot liqueur; two ingredients that may not be on your standard shopping list, but are definitely not obscure (I can find apricot liqueur in some Ralph's). Nein. Niet. Nothing. How is that possible? I go to Total Wines the next day: 6 different brands of apricot liqueur; 10 expressions of oloroso sherry AND a palo cortado (an obscure ingredient). Tack on that Total Wines is a full 10% cheaper, Hi-Time (when I can make it to Costa Mesa) is up to 40% cheaper (and the haven of the discerning drinker), and the fact that this BevMo can't keep their shelves stocked... I see no reason to return except for the occasional session beer. BevMo, you were my first (liquor supermart), but I-- I've found someone better. Two actually. If your a beer drinker This place sucks...Prices are wack..Trader Joes across the street has some of the same German beers at half the price. I guess if you want "Strawberry Mushroom beer" then BevMo is your place. They don't even carry Hamms, Oly, Lone Star and a lot of other "Normal" beers which are sold all over the country. Not that those are great beers but, come on you have at least got to have the basics. So if your some fat hipster dude with a neck beard, looking for Hemp lemonade your fine. Several other BevMo consumers commented that BevMo's prices have shot up substantially over the years, many times far more than competitive retailers. As a former long-time patron of BevMo, after having just researched products we've purchased at this store in the past, wow, I agree. The prices for Cognac for example range anywhere from 20% to 40% for the "higher-end" Cognacs than other retailers. When Total Wine and More opened in the Orange (CA) area it was the opposite, with Total Wine far more than BevMo. Now it's the other way around. We were frequent patrons of BevMo (wines, Cognacs, Whiskey, etc) but no more. Glad we read some of the comments from other consumers, giving us a heads-up on BevMo's recent direction toward being more costly. read more

I was very disappointed with the location being randomly closed at 1145a during the day for a stated hour or so. There was no posting notification but just a mere verbal statement at the door by a Bevmo worker. Which is not only unprofessional but suspicious and possibly an exposure of a lack of planning. No explanation or reasoning was able to be given. Though the worker smirked after giving the announcement. During my short period of time, I saw over 8-10 customers be turned away. Many working people utilize their short lunch window to take care of errands, relying on such establishments to be available. It's unfortunate that Bevmo Orange truly dropped the ball. read more

The manager Britt should be a janitor and not a manager. I brought a bottle of Chivas that is priced at $32.99. I told the clerk who was a very nice guy that I think it is way overpriced in comparison to Costco and even Ralph's. It is $21 at Costco and $26 at Ralph's. He said that we do price matching but let me talk to my manager. A girl by the name of Britt came out and asked how she can help. I said your prices are way too high. I was going to buy two bottles but I'm going to only buy one. She said ok. I said but the clerk just said that you do a price match, she said no and just walked away very rudely. The worst behavior I have ever seen from any manager or even a regular employee in the retail business and I do manage a very large store myself. I would not hire her as a janitor in my business. I have been a BevMo customer since before the name was contracted. And I have always been pleased with the staff and selection. Until last week. I went in to pick up an order and I was asked for my ID on checkout. Surprising, since I haven't been thought to look 21 since I was 18 (two decades ago), but whatever, I pull out my wallet again and show the clerk my ID. Nope, not good enough. She says I now need to pull it out of the tight plastic sleeve so she can swipe it. I had her do it, since I don't have adequate fingernails. I asked how long such a belabored policy has been in effect and was told it was mandatory for nearly two years. This is completely untrue, as this was the first time I had been asked. I don't appreciate being inconvenienced by unnecessary delays, but being lied to is a large step past proper. I was in a hurry, and it wasn't until afterward that I realized that BevMo is obvious data mining. Whether it is for their own internal tracking or for sales to data collection agencies I do not know. But I do know that they will never be swiping my ID, or getting any other personal info again. I do not intend to boycott the store, but I will be boycotting this policy. If BevMo wants my business they can have it. But they can't have my life. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews, but it's almost necessary for this place. For clarification this is for the beer and liquor side. Can't speak for the wine. The prices on most if not all of their beer are well overpriced compared to their rival (Total Wine). Secondly, their beer is old on the shelves. I was just in there today and found several IPAs that were bottled in February/January. That's unacceptable for an IPA. I have never run into this issue at Total Wine. I ended up walking out, and do not think I will return. I don't want to pay a premium for old beer. read more

My husband, Robert and shoopped there a few days ago and a employee named John made a rude comment about Robert being a "Talking Beard in a Wheelchair" and laughing about it too to the other employees in the store.
