Incredibly poor process for providing liquor availability. I know Blantons is hard to come by, so I asked one of the managers the best process. I set up the mobile alert, and purchased minutes after receiving an alert. Confirmation of purchase was sent. I then receive an email communicating that my order was cancelled. I hop on the phone and come to find out that the mobile alerts come out at night??? Not for me. Other people's orders placed, zero inventory left. Doesn't help at all that employees have admitted setting bottles aside for themselves whenever it comes in. Maybe it's just this location, but I doubt it. On principal alone, I will not shop here anymore. read more

So helpful when I came in with an obnoxious list of obscure cocktail mixers for my Mad Men Party. Prices were really solid and the staff knew where everything was instantly. It was really refreshing to keep having to bother the same person to help me find like 20 items, and each time she had a huge happy smile and was really nice. That is service my friend. I've been a BevMo! fan since 2005. They are one of the better specialty stores to purchase hard-to-find craft brews, wine and liquor. In addition to selling drinks, they also sell everything you need to serve them in, glasses, etc. Oh, they also have a cheese section and a cigar shop on site, which complements their drinks appropriately. Their employees are very knowledgeable and can help you pick out bottles of wine, based on simple questions that they ask you about what you're looking for. Each beverage BevMo sells has a short description and rating, which helps me decide on what I will buy. As a beer enthusiast, going to BevMo is like being a child again and going to a candy store. One of the most devastating discoveries upon my move from Long Beach to Houston was the realization that there is no BevMo in Houston. I'm sorry, what? No BevMo in Houston? Later devastating discoveries included that Houston does not sell hard liquor in the grocery store, you cannot purchase alcohol until after 12 noon on Sundays, and you can't buy alcohol until after 7am other days. All of these things make me miss BevMo even more. If I wasn't clear there or with my 5 stars, I. LOVE. BEVMO. I absolutely LOVE their 5 cents wine sale. I went to this BevMo and their 5 cent wine sale so often that I was recognizing which types of wines were always in the sale, which wines were new to the sale, and which wines I loved and didn't love. This was my go-to place for regular wine stock-ups when I lived in the area. So much fun! They also have boxes for other winos like me who forget their wine bags on occasion. I actually also have had great experiences with their staff. Once, I was set to "splurge" on a bottle that was $30ish, and of course that meant buying 2 bottles in the 5 cent wine sale. A cashier asked me if I had tried this wine before--and I let him know that I hadn't. He recommended that I select a different, similarly-priced wine, because many customers came back, unhappy with their choice in that specific wine. That is so nice! I would hate to get home that wine, open it, dislike it, and then have a whole other bottle to be stuck with! One word to new BevMo visitors--this location is kind of hard to find. It is in the back of the lot (well, sort of... it's hard to describe), so if you see Trader Joe's, keep going toward the back where there are less shops... and you will see it. They have some of the nicest people working at this location. For the most part they are fairly knowledgeable and have a good range of options when it comes to beer, wine and liquor. I do wish their champagne selection was a little more extensive. People love variety and options. read more

Really clean and has a side selection. Great if your having a dinner party and need different kinds of wines or beer. It's kinda pricy but worth it. They also have snacks that go with beer and drinks that helped. It's a small location but houses a lot. I would come again when I want I try some new wines. They have different kind of chianti selections which is nice because some places don't have that. Love that it's close to trader joes and in n out and veggie grill. Parking is easy too. read more

Bevmo is my local "go-to" for my favorite alcoholic beverages. They have a great selection of beer, wine, sake and hard liquors. Their selection goes from the inexpensive to the expensive. I have found their staff to be knowledgeable and willing to assist. The store is always clean and well-organized. I like the weekly tastings where you can try something before you buy. The only downside (and the reason for 4 stars) is the cramped feeling of the store. During sales and holidays it's tough to get around with a cart (which you need to purchase all the goodies). I also like the variety of edibles from crunchy chips to cheeses and meats. It's a one-stop spot for all your party needs! read more

I like the selection of California wines though like most (NOT ALL) places in this state other wine regions like say, Oh I don't know, FRANCE, are a little under represented. What I really like is the fact that they carry Moose Drool. My dad and I discovered it in Montana (Big Sky Brewing Company) and he LOVES it. (I LIKE it.) We looked for about 4 years and couldn't get it anywhere closer than the Bay area. Then BevMo moved in and made my dad happy. What more can I ask for? Its like the walmart of liquor stores. They will definitely have what you are looking for. They also have some really exotic mixers as well that I hadnt seen. I popped in the other night because I was craving my new favorite wine: Tormaresca Neprica. I found it immediately and decided to browse around for something different. I asked about any Pinotages that they might have and Amanda took me right over and pointed out some other good wines. She raved (literally) about a great spanish Jumilla that was in her opinion one of the best wines ever. I grabbed a bottle and cooked up a couple of steaks after letting the wine breathe for an hour. I make it a habit to go to Bevmo every week to pick up something. I can spend an hour just cruising through the aisles of single beers. I got over the beers that are being mass produced and sold in the cold section. I wanted change; I make it a point to try a new beer every time I go. I've had everything from Baltika no.9, which leaves a burning sensation in the back of your throat. To the Fiddlers Elbow with has got to be one of the best beers I've had in a while. Even though the beers are warm on the shelf, just throw them in your freezer for 20 minutes and it'll bring them to a nice refreshing coolness. The Bevmo on Katella in Cypress is much bigger than the one on PCH. Either way if you go to Bevmo, try something new. You might find a diamond in the ruff. read more

I've been purchasing stuff here since they opened this past year. This is a great place for wines, beers, and spirits. The 5 cent sale is especially good! The Anakena cab for $10.99 for the first bottle, and five cents for the second is incredible! Don't bother heading over there to buy it - I just bought the last case!! Hehe. For anyone thinking about big event bar options, Bevmo in Long Beach is absolutely 100% fantastic. I just got married 2 weeks ago & this Bevmo not only helped walk me through best wedding selections, how much I'll need for x amount if people, but their delivery was even on time and perfect! After visiting a total wine in Tustin and experienced disgustingly snooty service trying to find goose island Black Friday bourbon county stout, I obviously left highly disappointed. On a mission to find this brew, I called my BevMo! in Long Beach. I spoke to who I found out later a new associate, Dyan. I asked two simple questions. Do you have Goose Island Bourbon Stouts in stock? Is there a Black Friday limit? She was very eagered to help and asked another associate. Quick direct answers. Yes they have a few left in stock and they recently removed the 2 bottle limit. She even went on to tell me where they're located once I walked in the store. "Displayed in the front first register" 6 additional words added on our quick phone conversation made me feel super valued and special. The person assisting her on the other end was amazing. I can tell they had a great team relationship. I got to the store location, greeted by the cashier which I find out is Dyan. Bevmo does hike up the price on their wines so that you think you're getting a deal by buying the 2nd bottle for $.05. I don't fall for that but went in there to check their wine selection which I didn't find all that exclusive. I shop at Trader Joe's and I'm a member of a wine club so I know a little bit about some of the good wines and I didn't see any being sold here at Bevmo. So that I'd be fair I tried their wine tasting which for $5 I tasted about 5-6 different wines in this crowded section of the store one Saturday and a couple of the Imported wines they were sampling were good but all the California wines I tasted were not so good. I'm not sure if Bevo just buys what wineries are about to pour down the drain but from the few CA wines I tasted, it sure appeard this way. Now, they do carry more things in there like cheeses and hard liquor and for that I have this Bevmo 2 stars. See for yourself though to be fair and then go back to Trader Joe's and compare quality and prices. read more

I do some major damage here for all special occasions. They also carry my FI's favorite Aventinus German beers and enough brut roses to keep a smile on my face.
