Service: Very helpful and hardworking. Was looking for a certain wine, and multiple employees were here to help and went beyond and anticipated our needs. Even helped to research if this particular wine was on par, with what I was looking for even though a different brand. Store itself: Huge with lots of lots of delicious and tasty beverages. I Did not even know that this store was this big and has such a wide selection of anything drinks and foods. Remodel looks really neat and modern. If I could give zero stars, I would: I had the worst experience with the two male employees on Sunday June 9th around noon. Upon entering the store, we were immediately questioned about having IDs with us. I promptly replied yes, however, who I was with happened to leave theirs behind. I understand this could be standard practice but the extra commentary was unnecessary. While we hesitated, the employees continued to bully the other potential customers saying they looked below age and laughing. After those who didn't have IDs left, I swiftly picked up drinks and headed to the cash register. At the register the comments continued, informing me I should've lied saying the others were children or spouses. Then when I declined, he asked if he was correct in guessing the age of the others. I said that was not appropriate since they were kicked out for not having IDs anyway. Which we were fine with. Policy is policy. What I am not okay with is the approach and unnecessary comments from the employees continuing to make me uncomfortable in the store. Unfortunately, after this event I will not be contributing to this store any longer. I know a lot of people in the area and will not continue to recommend this store. Hopefully more friendly or even decent employees can be selected next time. read more

Horrible! We cancelled the transaction and they still charged me. I called to get assistance but they were not helpful. They literally want me to provide every possible detail for them and then they want me to even show up to reverse the charge. I even asked them to review video footage and they said it's not helpful. Nice store has a pretty good selection of alcohol .happened to need some Champagne so just ran in and picked up a bottle .. Seems a little smaller than most bevmos but did the trick today !! They definitely carry a lot of different varieties of Red and white wines and beers this is definitely a fun store today if you want to experiment with new flavors of beer!! For us, it's location, location, location- it's walking distance from our home, has all the concoctions you would need for a great BBQ, party or dinner at home with a nice glass of _____ you fill in the blank. If they don't have the drink you want there...most likely they can get it. But they do have every drink imaginable. Been open during all of covid. Great customer service and ready to help at all times. One thing I would recommend is checking the expiration date on their food and snacks. Great store to find any alcoholic drink you want (pretty much). I love that they mark local selections of beers. I wish they would carry or at least mark even more local liquors. I was looking for a Martinez-made whiskey (they didn't carry it) and found one from St. George in Alameda. Had to look at the label to discover this. They are pretty uptight about young children in the store. I don't blame them. There are a lot of breakables and my kids can be very active. I usually have pretty welcoming experiences with the employees here(Dan and another who's name i'm forgetting). But tonight Christian was working front, a face I hadn't seen before. I was next in line to pay for my item, and i was looking towards the cashier ready to move to him. Before the previous customer even left the register Christian already hit the counter top with double knock to signal me over. Unnecessary considering that we were making eye contact, but ok. Through the order he asked me for my Bev card number which i recited to him and I had my ID ready for him. He quizzed me on my ID and then proceeded to do the extra check of legitimacy. Totally fine, sometimes it seems off, do your job. However, the manner and tone I was met with felt very disrespectful. When i asked for a bag for my item, he told me it wasn't possible because he didn't have bags, but after I suggested the "GoPuff" bag, he was very disgruntled in completing my ask and did so after making it very clear that the bag was going to be an extra 10 cents. Maybe he had an odd/rough night, but I didn't feel welcome or comfortable at all with the way Christian spoke to me or treated me. read more

I went to BevMo with a coworker to get some wine for a wine tasting at work. I did not bring in my Purse because my coworker was buying the wine. The checker Tyler did not check the lady in front of us ID nor the gentleman in front of her. He then asked for my ID, I let him know I swear I am 32 years old and he still made me go get it. I asked him why he dint bother checking the two people in front of us he then proceeded to state they were in yesterday. First of all if they were in yesterday you should have been a lot nicer to them. I knew he was bsing me. Moral of the story BevMo please do NOT stereotype your customers and check everyone's ID in line. I mean if you are going to lose your job Tyler I would suggest it. Randomly during the day my husband will text me with "We need more Vodka" or "Out of Kahlua". Hes not at home and I dont normally drink during the week. So he just sits at work and thinks about the liqour cabinet and what we're out of. Then its my job to fill the order I guess. I was working that day and happended to turn the corner and see this small Bev Mo right there. How have I driven past this location so many times and never knew it was litterally around the corner. I also noticed one of the guys working looked remarkably similar to Maynard from the band Tool. I had to take a double take. So I got the Vodka and a giant bottle of Kahlua because the giant size was on sale. I dont recall there being a deli section because its pretty small inside. Okay, so this IS my neighborhood BevMo. How in the ham am I to know that there is a BevMo so close? I have been going all over creation for my "Yancy's Fancy" cheese and my "wine du jour." Oh well, lesson learned. What I like about this BevMo is its proximity. On a rainy day, you can just pop in, get what you need, and pop back out. The key to this is what I don't like about this BevMo. The place is claustrophobic; I feel like I am trapped as I walk down the aisles with my shopping cart. And the selection of deli meats, etc., is not as good as other locations. But I'm fairly easy. They have wine, I buy wine (and the good stuff). They have cheese and crackers, I buy cheese and crackers (ditto). As long as this is in supply we will have no problems. The sales associates are very nice, and this is a great help. read more

I drink wine...a lot of wine. I have young kids. Don't judge me. Wine is the great parenting elixir and no, I don't drink Rombauer. I usually buy my wine at three places; BevMo, World Market, and Trader Joes. BevMo by far has the best selection since it is the largest. The prices are always the best around and I have been introduced to many new wines which quickly make it into our rotation. They have wines for all situations. We have a price system-$12 and under for every day consumption, $20 and under for family dinners or when we have close friends over, $60 and under for special events or really to sit in our wine fridge until we deem an event special enough to open...still hasn't happened...so yes, we're cheap, and we like our cheap wine. BevMo never disappoints in selection or price. The staff is always nice enough. Some days they are more helpful and knowledgeable than others, but never rude. read more

This weekend I was SUPER impressed with the staff handling some jerk arguing 3 staff about how his 5cent sale was inaccurately calculated. This went on for 45+ min and was over literally $2 ($15 bottle got 5 cent price vs $17bottle). While I was 2 shakes away from saying F it "Dude, here's $2. Leave so the 5 of us in line can move on!!!" The Management at Bevmo finally resolved the quote un quote issue. I can't even give it the justice of "issue" since the guy was just a _ _ _ _. This BevMo location is so convenient, with good parking too, but it's a good bit smaller than the Walnut Creek location and lacks the deli... As someone who moved to the Bay from Texas, I can attest that there are few, if any, liquor stores quite like BevMo there, or in the South, for that matter. With a great selection of wine, beer, and liquors, it's a great retail concept. Management is always willing to order me anything they don't have in stock, and prices are fair, if not quite as low as my favorite liquor store in Texas. You cannot go wrong with the 5-cent wine event, and they usually have good Club-Bev specials on various items. The extra 5% discount for Club members is a nice touch as well. The new high-end liquor cabinets really "pop" now, with their new LED lights, it's always neat and clean, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. It's a consistently good shopping experience at BevMo. If they lowered their prices on liquor a few bucks more, they would be unstoppable! read more

I was given the assignment of buying 3 nice bottles of wine with 100 bucks. No clue where to start, I just narrowed it down to the price range and picked up a couple bottles after a long browse. I am amazed this place has not gone belly up.........well not so far. Here's an example: I buy A product there that is $3.00 less at Safeway. I asked them. "Would you match the price?" And the answer was no. I did a double take. Can you imagine? Now I order this product at Safeway in cases. All that revenue lost, BevMo! I also tried to special order the product. Ick. The ratings system is unreliable with its inflated reviews by their paid reviewer. Poor training -- at best the staff is trained sales, not educated about the wine. For value, Costco has far more reliably vetted wines for the price -- with reviews from independent journals. For convenience, I prefer the Trader Joe's on Railroad where they have wine stewards who have actually tasted the wines. The final straw here was the time the clerk carded Mr.J, and then asked for my ID too. Normally I am flattered to be carded, but in this case I pointed out I wasn't the one buying. She still insisted on "seeing" my ID then high-handedly scanned it **without my consent**. When I objected, she spewed some rehearsed non-apology for her draconian overreach into my personal data. All this for a couple bottles of wine which turned out to be acidic, perhaps this what their reviewer, with his Clintonesque conflicts on interest, meant by "plums"? Just how many ways can they manage to corrupt trust? I don't want to find out. Not once in 2 years of passing by here daily have we missed the chicanery here. read more

I have to say that the people here are SO nice and really helpful. I've been in a few times with my grandma, or on an errand for something specific, and they are always kind and try to get my questions answered, even if it means having to recommend a different store to me (as they did at Christmas).
