My partner and I went to this BevMo on the evening of September 19, and I have to say our experiences were night and day. The first time we came in, a long-haired employee helped us and was super welcoming. It was such a great first impression that we decided to come back later. Unfortunately, the second visit was really upsetting. Sep 20th We were greeted by a heavier-set employee named Craig, and right after greeting us, he started watching us from his peripheral vision while he scanned orders. Every time I looked up, I caught him staring, and then he'd quickly look down like nothing happened. It was obvious he was keeping an eye on us as if we were going to steal. When I called him out, he said something like, "Oh, most people have questions about the small mini shots," and that he was just making sure we didn't need help. But we had already told him we didn't need help. We knew exactly what we came for and were just looking to try something new. I work in retail, and I know the difference between genuinely checking on a customer and treating someone like they're a suspect. His actions were the latter, and it made us extremely uncomfortable. What makes it worse is that BevMo is in a predominantly white area, and Craig did not treat other customers the same way he treated us. It honestly felt like we were being profiled based on how we look. We're just two young adults trying to shop, not steal, and being watched like that was disheartening, discriminatory, and degrading. If Craig is the manager, that makes it even worse, because a manager should set the example for good customer service -- not make people feel targeted. BevMo needs to do better. read more

Clean, open space, easy to find sections, but hard to find sometimes the specific brands I was looking for. They either didn't have it on-hand or they didn't carry it at all. Super friendly staff - don't be afraid to ask questions! Even if they don't have everything I'm looking for, there is always something new or something to fall back on! Three weeks ago I bought several peach Bellini mixes for a party. After using a couple of them, one of my guests commented that the good or sell/use by date had expired in February 2025. That makes the mixer at least seven months old and well beyond its shelf date. I was a bit embarrassed due to serving well outdated consumption items. Somewhere along the line at the party, the bag and the receipt was thrown away. I recently visited the same BevMo to return the items. realizing I did not have the receipt, I figured they could like most Businesses use my credit card number or as I'm also a member of their BevMo club to look up past purchases and dates . The manager said their system had no way of doing that. He stated there was a seven day return policy. I asked him to consider an exception, that that I was an ongoing customer. I told him I understand you have your rules, but you're the manager and I would think that you have some sort of flexibility to make judgment calls. He said he didn't. I told him I was quite frustrated, but I understood his position but I would be posting a review on yelp about selling product that was seven months old. He said I was threatening him and took a somewhat defensive attitude. he said at that moment he would make an exception. we walked up to the counter. He mentioned that with me saying that I would share my experience on yelp again that I was threatening him. I said it's not a threat. I'm just sharing my experience with others so I told him to keep my purchase that I was going to make, and that he could just toss mix. I left without taking the refund at that point as I was frustrated. Safeway next-door sells the same product I had planned to purchase, so going forward I will go to Safeway to get what I would've bought from BevMo. I believe the two products that I tried to return were about $12 total. I could afford the $12. It was just the idea that they were seven months old and I would've thought that the manager would've said without hesitation or question that they would take them back. My purchase is that I will not be making in the future are not gonna break the company and overall they have always been friendly and helpful but their corporate rules and this manager have broke me as a customer. I didn't give them a one star review. I gave them a three star review to try to be fair here. read more

There was a male worker helping me and my 15 year old daughter who I had brought with me because we went out for groceries I was trying to buy me and my husband some alcohol I was buying myself Seagram's and my husband some fat tire beer and he said "I couldn't buy the alcohol" because my daughter doesn't have a license but she is 15 YEARS OLD ! all in all we will NOT be coming back. read more

This is a bit of a late review, but I just want to acknowledge the superstar of an employee this store has, and that angel's name is Yev. Back in the holiday season, I was on the search for the Game of Thrones whiskies, particularly the House Tyrell clynelish, as a present for my boyfriend. He was looking to collect them all, but they did not have House Tyrell anywhere in Southern California (where we're from btw)! I spent hours prowling online and calling stores to see if they had any in stock to no avail. Then, out of sheer desperation, I started calling stores outside of my driveable range in blind hope that one of them would ship to California. And that's when I came across Yev from the San Ramon BevMo. This man moved mountains to help me attain this seeming unattainable whiskey. He stayed on the phone for me for an entire hour, just working to figure out how to legally ship it to us, gaining special permissions from his boss, and contacting their third party shipping service. I was so moved by his service that I asked if there was anyone I could call from upper management to let them know he went above and beyond, to which he simply replied, "No worries, just trying to make this a special holiday season for you guys." As promised, we received our Tyrell whiskies within a week and a half. My boyfriend and I are so grateful to Yev and have agreed that if I were to ever leave my boyfriend, it'd be acceptable if I were to leave him for a dependable man like Yev. So please, NorCal residents, if you ever come into this store and you see that beautiful man, know that your thirst for alcoholic beverages is in good, trustworthy, dedicated hands. Great alcohol selection and good prices. Just recently got a bunch of everything after having not been for a long time. As I first walked in it was the first time I've seen the Sees Candy collaboration Bevmo has - wine parings with Sees. White German wine from the Moselle was good with the candy with nuts in it for example. I'm not sure why but the layout of Bevmo's seem different in every store. I always have a hard time finding what I'm looking for. For example in the wine section I couldn't find the German wine section. Could have been on an endcap?? Medium size bottle of Henessey right by the register appreciated. Big display of Sees near the front entrance very handy - just give people what they really want for Christmas. BevMo used to be our go-to for their huge selection of domestic and imported wine, spirits, and high quality deli foods. We stopped at our old San Ramon store while passing through town last weekend and were shocked at the change. The GoPuff takeover has completely changed the store in selection and customer service. Half the store had been converted to junky grocery items and much of the remaining booze was unlabeled and on the wrong shelves. A friendly but very slow cashier was working solo while two employees at the front of the store were completely focused on GoPuff deliveries and ignoring the growing line of BevMo customers. Wonderful visit to the land of beer! This is one of my favorite beverage stores to visit. Again, today was an excellent visit. There was one particularly helpful person named Yev, who helped me find a beer I was interested in. All I had to do is say the first word of the beer "Marzen" and he knew exactly where to go. Well done! While I was here, Yev made a suggestion of a different type of beer that I might enjoy. So besides being helpful, he's a great salesman! There is a huge section of clearance items, but keep in mind it's only Wine and Spirits, not beer. Like many stores, you need to get the loyalty card to get a decent price. I came in here looking for a bottle of wine for a gift. I know nothing about wine.. so I took my time deciding... I love being followed around the store simply because I'm taking my time. I left this store, went to Safeway to see if they might've had what I wanted. They didn't, so I came back. Both times I was in the store a female worker would follow me up and down the aisles (never once asking if I need help). She wasn't doing anything. And there were other people in the store. In addition, the cashier made rude jokes about me taking my time in the store so obviously they were communicating that I was a problem or something. Am I not allowed to browse? Maybe someone should've asked me if I needed help because I DID! Management needs to teach customer service 101. Keep in mind, both times I came into the store I was there for less than 10 minutes... so the workers behaviors were weird. read more

A friend of mine and I walk into the store, and were immediately greeted by a worker who asked if we were 21, because we "look like we just got out of 8th grade." After showing our IDs, the lady responded and said: "Sorry its policy." I understand getting asked to see ID, I work at a brewery, however, that comment was unnecessary and super rude. She did not think to apologize for her belittling comment. I will not return to this location. I think the management needs to take serious re-consideration of their customer service skills. read more

My friend requested for Hennesy Black and I had the hardest time finding it, until I came to BevMo! The staff is very helpful and they have to be, a lot of the stuff that I needed was in the glass cases, requiring an employee to unlock the case, grab the bottle and bring it to the register. I don't drink a lot, but when I need to buy some high quality hooch (that I can't find at costco), I'll come here. read more

Story time! One time I had ordered a beer there that is not normally stocked at the store, and actually it is a fairly rare find at any of the other BevMo's. Usually you have to go to one of the major stores (Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, etc.) to find it. Either way, I ordered the bottles through this BevMo because of my proximity. They said the order should be fulfilled within 2-3 weeks. I got a call literally 4 days after my order was placed that said I could come pick it up. These guys were fast and efficient, and they said they would start stocking it regularly. Bonus! Other than that here are my thoughts... Clean store, friendly staff, lots of knowledge everywhere! This store is easy to get through and easy to find most things, but anything you have trouble with, an employee will help you out right away! Some of the items are a little more than what other stores ask for, but I will give these guys my business because I know what they're talking about. You also can't beat the 5 cent wine sale, so this is the time I frequent really any BevMo. I recommend coming in for tastings if you ever have any doubts on certain products. You never know what you may fall in love with! They also have free WiFi in the store, just in case you need to pull up reviews online or something like that. Definitely a plus either way! read more

I placed an online order for pickup at the San Ramon, CA, store. The online system showed that there were five bottles available at San Ramon at that time. Approximately 45 minutes after placing my order, I received a call from the store saying that they had cancelled my order as they were out of stock. This was my first attempt at using BevMo's online ordering system for in-store pickup and I probably won't bother trying it again. There's no point in having such a system if your inventory status is nowhere near real time. The attitude of both the store manager who called me and the customer service rep who answered my online complaint was pretty much a resounding, "Meh". read more

Amazing service from Scott today! After ringing a customer, he left his post at the register (but kept a keen eye on it; service skills, yo!) and met me in the aisles. He took the time to help me choose a good bourbon (around the price point of Bulliet). Gave me a few options, his favorites, one's on his "try list" (recommended by their whiskey/bourbon vendor), and made comparisons appropriate for me, a novice; you could tell he wanted to help me understand in a way that I actually would. His knowledge was broad, as per my request, he also helped me with higher-end options too! Ended up deciding on a bottle of Eagle Rare, something I could appreciate neat, but not feel terrible if I were to mix it. I'm excited!! Thanks, Scott! As for selection, as you know, Bevmo's great! Fair prices, though based on the few I was looking at, slightly more than Safeway's sale prices (e.g. for Bulliet, $26 vs. $23, or $20.70 if you get six bottles, mix-n-match). Visited this location yesterday, it will be my last. Absolutely, and I mean absolutely the worst customer service I have EVER encountered. On top of this Yelp review, I will email corporate and hope they reprimand all of their employees in this branch. Walked in, and was not acknowledged by a single person, walked past 3 employees, not one greeting or question if I needed help. I walked in with a coupon that was texted to me, "spend $75 and get $10 off...." unfortunately, the text did not include a bar code for the clerks to scan. A young, rude and unprofessional clerk named Yev was called to the register, and this is where everything goes south. He denied my coupon, told me it was my problem that the coupon that bevmo sent me is unusable, I told him the coupon came from Bevmo, They ultimately have to honor it, it was sent to me literally 3 days ago and was valid for that date, he continued to ridicule me. Was the absolute worst experience in customer service I have ever, ever encountered. I left what I was going to purchase and went to the Walnut Creek store. I was actually greeted by every employee there, asked if I needed help finding anything, they honored the coupon NO questions asked! What a HUGE difference! Customer service goes a long way, you can bet that I will never return to the San Ramon Bevmo, I rather spend a little more and get what i need from Safeway then return to that store and be ridiculed by some punk kid that doesn't give a rats ass about his job! I don't drink enough. At least, that is what my husband tells me. Also, anyone else who has spent time with me at a YEE, a UYE or just out for dinner, knows I am a cheap drunk. 3 sips and I am done. Anyway, I do use alcohol for cooking and one of my go-to's is Madeira. Rainwater Madeira to be exact. Sadly, I can only seem to find the kind I like best at Lunardi's and not at Bev Mo and the $.05 wine sale does not include the two kinds of wine I really like, so really, Bev Mo is not the best place for someone like me. As for other things, this location is clean, new and friendly-and though there is a location within walking distance from my house here in Danville (I have been there several times for ice and beer when we were hosting poker), we rarely go. read more

We utilized San Ramon Bev Mo to buy alcohol to stock our open bar at our wedding. We were helped by the manager on duty and he helped us figure out and choose the alcohol we needed for our event. We luckily had used the online estimator and had an idea of the amount and pricing too. We ordered extra, because just wanted to make sure we had enough for our large guest count to cover the entire reception and we ended up having so much extra we were just giving it out at the end since they do not take returns. bevmos are basically the same price wise. was passing by, so came to check out whiskey pricing. seems they are a little higer for johnny walker red (28 vs 26) and black (24 vs. 20) than costco and the korean markets. some buds like liquor gifts so...... didn't leave empty handed. had a cigar (sombra reserva maduro churchill, 3.99) -big smoke, nice taste (for a cigar) -as flavorful or better than premium brands. -all bevmo's carry the same 'gars and liquors. read more

Pretty standard Bevmo for all your alcohol needs. One thing I do want to note is that compared to the local Total Wine and More, I believe they have a healthy wine selection. This Bevmo normally has everything I could want and the staff are cool people. read more

This store is well stocked, well organized, competitively priced and has friendly customer service. I just wish Bevmo's stayed open a little longer at night. But maybe they are trying to go for that friendly neighborhood grocer approach instead of a big box retailer or corner liquor store vibe. First off let me say how awesome John (store manager) and his colleague Andy are. They were so easy to work with, explained everything as clearly as possible, and remembered me (which I quite honestly don't normally expect from chain stores). Their staff is extremely professional, and does everything they can to take care of you. Their online ordering/delivery system can be a bit tricky, so I recommend calling their store beforehand. With that being said, I strongly recommend utilizing their delivery service for large events (delivery is free after $500 or more is spent). Delivery is scheduled within a 2 hour window, which was the case for our wedding. They delivered on time, and the delivery guy brought everything into the venue for us (instead of just dumping it on the curve and leaving). To give you an idea of how much they care, at the last minute I added a few more bottles of soda to my order, which unfortunately didn't get lumped into our delivery. With one call, Andy arranged for someone at the store to drop it off at the venue (free of charge). To sum things up, if you have a large event, it helps to work with a beverage provider that genuinely cares about their customer service, communicates clearly, and operates like a "small business" with flexibility, as opposed to a large conglomerate corporation. They have just about everything you might be looking for here at Bevmo. The reason for 2 stars is that they have to ID you if you are under 50 years old...even if you are not buying anything alcoholic. I went in and bought a soda and the lady asked me for id. I told her im not buying anything alcohol. She said it was a policy....funny though, I went back in after and bought another non alcoholic item (mesquite charcoal) and I was not asked by another check for my id. Thats just annoying...Im giving you my ID which has personal information to purchase something that do not require it. read more

This is my favorite Bevmo (and I've been to a lot of them). Easy parking and a wide open store. There's beer tastings on Fridays after work (until 7). Of course, there's a fantabulous selection of craft brews. On the other side of the store, they have some kind of red beer in large bottles, but I've never tried anything from over there. One of the better BevMo branches - good service, large interior and all the usual suspects with the beers and wines.

A much smaller BevMo than the others in the 925 so their spirits and craft beer selections are both without as many options. All the staples are there however and it seems little is lacking from their wine selection. Location is perfect if you're trying to pick up a multitude of different things as there is a Safeway and CVS all in the same shopping center. Customer service here is over the top, hopefully not simply because it's a newer location. I have also used the order online option and my orders were always filled before they were due. read more

I feel bad about returning an opened bottle of Whiskey, but manager was nice enough to refund my money. I had 2 bottles, 1 was open to taste and I tried to return both. He said I am only able to return unopened bottles. I was completely fine with that. During processing, he changed his mine and refunded both to me. No one should be able to return any open fluids and I'm very sorry if they have to take the loss. read more

I went to Bev Mo and their process during the shut in was very smooth. I ordered online I chose a pick up time and it was done. They even had my pick up early and called to say if I wanted it early . Just picked up an online order! Had to go in store, no curbside pick up! The staff did not have any type of protection on (no gloves or masks)! They did not stay 6 feet apart!
