The store well stocked well lit and has a nice variety of meats, cheeses, crackers, glassware and cigars to go along with your favorite drinkables. I like the points system and the Wilford Wong reviews and recommendations. The descriptions are helpful and I have found some cool things I would not have otherwise bought...and then ended up liking. Staff seems stretched thin, not enough help when you want it, the few that are there running around trying to put stock on the shelves. I have not shopped here enough to have a good feel for the store. I actually popped in because we needed more beer for a party. I was geeked to find out that they carry full cases of Angry Orchard Cider. I have only been able to find variety packs at other places. The store is small in comparison to Total Wine, but their stock seems to be well placed. I was overjoyed to find Molsen Canadian here. I am from the Midwest and Labatt's and Molsen are beer staples. Yay, Bevmo! By no means am I an alkie, but I was quite pleased that Bevmo carried shipping boxes to prepare me for my trip to Napa. The staff associates here are extremely nice and know their alcohol. I love that they make small talk with you and ask you where you're going and get excited about little things like Napa. It shows me that they love what they do, even if it is just your local Bevmo in good ol' Cypress. Tip: Sign up with your phone number to accumulate Bevmo points. I've never gotten enough points to benefit me, but you will if you frequent Bevmo enough. On another note, I would like to know if they carry Karl Strauss' Windansea Wheat... nom nom =) read more

I always have great experiences here with customer service. The staff are super friendly and help me hunt down anything hard to find. They don't always have things I'm looking for (so far a wine from Argentina and small, flavored soju bottles) but they have pretty much everything else (and at great prices). read more

Went on Saturday afternoon at the Cypress BevMo. The guys Ben and Mike were great. Had to exchange a bottle and they made it all work as well as provide a great recipe for Sangria. Also, they had the wine tasting as well 2-5 pm and had actual glass wear which is comparable to Costa Mesa. Long beach has great people but stick to Costa Mesa "Ron" and Cypress for the wine tasting. They have cheese as well and provide a great atmosphere. There was a wedding etc so I would say about 11 bottles of wine to try out. Amazing day to taste for sure... we didn't expect it and were just going to exchange two bottles but ended up paying for about a case and a half. haha... It was good stuff. Had to ask for service several times before anyone would unlock the cabinet. Female manager repeatedly told us to wait "just a minute". Finally got what we needed, and then she told us to wait in a different line with the SLOWEST check out guy who ultimately refused to let my husband buy anything because I didn't have ID. Horrible customer service. Unimpressed bevmo. You no longer have our business. Waste of time with a ridiculous store policy when we are both clearly over 21. Manager looked like she was 12. She shouldn't be allowed to work there since we can't buy alcohol WITH an ID!!! read more

This place is always clean and tidy. The staff is very helpful and I always find what I'm looking for. I need to come by when they have the wine sale. Buy one bottle get another for 5 cents. I'm not a big wne drinker, but if I kept coming here for the wine sale I just might be one. I've been to other Bev Mo's (Huntington Beach, Pasadena, and Torrance) and this one is the best. ALCHY HEAVEN. I end up at Bevmo at least once a week to browse their super impressive selection of beer...I usually end up drooling over all of the goodies and/or jumping around in excitement for at least 20 minutes. They also have a pretty eclectic range of international liquor. I went once with a friend (who had recently come home from an extended stay in Chile) in hopes of tracking down a type of Chilean liquor she had fallen in love with; sure enough, we found it! The employees are all really helpful too. The last time I went, I ended up talking to one guy for 10 minutes about weekly wine/beer tastings, as well as a slew of offbeat beers. Is it just me or is it AMAZING that they have a tasting section in the back of the store designated for weekly tastings of unusual and new alcohol?! I couldn't ask for more. Anything your little heart desires, Bevmo has. They even pre-prepare you for the drunk munchies you'll get after drinking your alcohol by lining the aisles with chips, dips, cheeses, etc...pretty thoughtful, I'd say! And don't forget to check out the witty quotes painted on the walls...so entertaining. To sum it up: I just feel like frolicking around in joy every time I walk into this Bevmo. *This is my personal opinion* Although this is the only Bevmo I have been to, this location is awesome. I didn't even know that it was in the plaza it was in till my friend took me there. It's next to a corporate area, so if you're traveling down that way, don't worry it's there. Every time I've been there the staff has been nice and helpful. I like going to Bevmo because they have a wide variety of drinks, and depending on what you're looking for they'll have something for you. I was extremely excited to see that they carry Young's Double Chocolate stout, it's a very nice beer. If you are of age and in the area, you know what's up. read more

I would rather post this based on my dealings with BevMo in general (Corporate) but can't get through to them. I wanted to check the balance on a gift card. Corporate won't answer their phone with a message for me to call during business hours; it's 1:15 p.m. Thursday! Online tells me to chat but there is no chat link. General information online tells me to call the 800 number on the card - no number listed. Message at corporate tells me to call 800 number THE SAME NUMBER I CALLED THEM AT. I called a local store and was told to call the 800 number or come in to a store and they will scan it. SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I'll never buy gift cards again and will never go back to the store. When there is SO MUCH COMPETITION like Sam's and Costco with HUGE savings, you would think they would try to keep clients with customer service. If I don't receive customer service, I'LL PAY LESS at Sam's or Costco and put a bow on it! read more

I had a need for a hard-to-find specialty spirit that always seemed to sell out before I could obtain some. The store for all things inebriating! The only place with cheaper prices is Costco. So if Costco doesn't carry it, I buy it here. They have an awesome selection of beers and hard liquor. Things I have had trouble finding elsewhere. Sign up for their Club Bev, and look for items on sale/special priced. After $200 in purchases, they send you a coupon for 5% off. Also, they seem to have a buy one bottle of wine get a second for 5 cents, several times a year. Not every wine but quite a few. Watch out though it's really easy to walk up to the register with a few things and run up a real large bill. I've qualified for my 5% coupon on a single visit more than once. read more

I come here on many occasions to find a different variety of wine or beers that your usual grocery stores wouldn't have. They also have plenty of side things to go with your alcohol choice. Such as snacks and other non-alcoholic beverages. I highly suggest getting a rewards card here also. The price/points add up! They have wine tasting on certain days i believe? But i haven't been to. The employees are very nice and helpful. The parking is easy to find because its not a busy complex and it's in the corner. Getting in and out is easy as well. read more

When they have their buy one get one for $.05, I know its time for me to restock. I came here frequently because I work just down the street, and I grew up in this area. But I must say that I have NEVER received good services here. Never feel welcoming. I was the online pick-up area for what seems like an eternity. The cashiers looked at me and looked away. They don't bother to get on the telecom to ask for someone to come and help me. They stared at he blankly like I'm invisible. At times, I question if the main reason was because of my ethnicity. Horrible customer service. I went there on a surprisingly non-busy Sunday, and knew what type of beverage I was going to get. I waited by the locked glass case and saw a bitter employee walk down the aisle towards me. We made eye contact and he stopped, arranged some bottles next to me, then walked on. No "hello" , " can I help you" , none of that. I waited to see if I could get help from another employee but to no avail. I waited and watched as that same bitter employee gave attitude to another customer when asked to open up the glass case for a product. F that! I walked out the store to take my business elsewhere and was bumped into by some fat pig employee sipping on a JambaJuice. Apparently she was late for her shift because I didn't get an "excuse me" . The only reason they get 2 stars is because they are $1 cheaper than TOTAL WINE. But you know what, I'll take the drive there and will and always have a better experience at TOTAL WINE. They have an awesome selection of dealcoholized wine (it has the same amount of alcohol as a glass of orange juice... so it is totally Halal)! Our favorite it the Merlot by Sutter Home Fre. They also have nonalcoholic beer (never tried it). Along, with a nice cheese and chocolate selection. So, for all the pregnant women or Muslims out there who would like a wine and cheese party, this is the place to get stocked up. read more

This Review is for anyone wondering If they can return anything that they bought that they didn't like or need that was unopened. If you buy an item that is on the 5 cent sale and bring both back unopened you only get half of what you pay for, even with original receipt. I bought 2 bottles of champagne, one 17.95 the other for .05 cents as part of the sale but only was able to get 9.72 back. Dan the manager explained the policy, super nice guy, very much enjoyed talking with him. Loved all the staff there, just didn't love the policy. If it isn't a 5 cent sale item they will return your money in full, so anyone who is planning on buying, be careful with your decision. read more

We just bought a shot glass for my father's birthday and we find out that it is shattered to pieces. We had just bought it 5 minutes ago, so we go back into the store to exchange it, but the manager is the only one who has the authority to do so. This is understandable, but what troubles us is that the manager decides to talk to another customer first even though we were there first. The cashier who is helping us, keeps trying to get the manager's attention to help us with our dilemma, but the manager continues to talk to the other customer for another 15 minutes. Then the manager finally comes to us and tells us that we didn't even need to wait for manager approval. Thank you for the waste of time. read more

I am an East LA native and Rite Aid and Liquor stores have way better specials or almost exactly the same prices. I used to love BevMo up until a few weeks ago. For years they've have wine tastings on Saturday afternoons and beer tasting on Friday evenings. Both had a core of regulars plus new drop ins every week. This was a great way to taste the wines before purchasing. Many of us were introduced to new varietals, blends and labels through these tasting. Then a couple of weeks ago Bevmo corporate decided to combine wine, beer and soda tastings so that instead of 6+ wines, there are now only 2-3 plus 2 beers and 1 soda. Not a good idea! Some things just don't mix. The Cypress Bevmo has always had excellent, knowledgeable people conducting the wine tasting, and they have always been generous in sharing their knowledge. Now with the beer tasters in there too, neither the beer drinkers nor the wine drinkers are getting what they need. Prices and variety are better at another large liquor store chain that still offers more extensive wine tasting both weekend days. Wake up and take notice, BevMo! You're losing that personal touch that kept a lot of us coming back week after week. read more

Went here last weekend to pick up a couple of things for our bar at home. We were happy to see they had a pair of copper mugs in stock. We needed them for our moscow or irish mules. We copped a pair and bought a bottle of Jameson, a four pack of Bundabergs, a bottle of 10 Cane rum for our mojitos. Everything was easy to spot and shop. Customer service was OK, nothing to rave about. I wouldn't mind coming back here again to this location. However, the closest BevMo is the Orange location. I was also pleased to see that they sold Casa Sanchez tortilla chips from the Bay Area!! I wished it came with a Papalote jar of salsa though! read more
