My 79-year old mother who is disabled but sharp as a firecracker was in excruciating pain from a tooth that needed to be pulled. I called the office and the man who answered the phone was very nice and knowledgeable. He said the doctor could fit her in right away so we rushed over. Doctor Howard was wonderful, warm, competent and compassionate. Within an hour, my mom was beaming and telling jokes. Turns out his assistant is his son and he has the same lovely manner as his father. Both made me and my mother feel welcome and important. I cannot say enough about what a great experience it was, and I would highly recommend Dr. Daniel. I am just disappointed that he is not a general dentist as I would use him regularly in a heartbeat. He is an oral surgeon.

I had absolutely no issues with the front office staff as she was truly quite pleasant and extremely friendly. The office itself is nestled on a cute street with gorgeous brownstones and the ground floor has been turned into a dentists office. I didn't have to wait long and got to meet the incredibly sweet Dr. Howard. I am the worst person when it comes to dental extractions. I had my top wisdom teeth removed a few years ago and it was the worst experience for me because I need A LOT of numbing because I can feel absolutely everything. Both Dr. Howard and his wonderful right hand man (I believe he's his son in law) were so incredibly patient with me and I spent the entire appointment laughing and cracking jokes with them. Yes, even with my mouth half numb and probably drooling. The lady at the front office even came back to see what was going on because she kept hearing so much laughing coming from the backroom. They took their time to ensure I was comfortable and to make sure I let them know if I was ever in any pain. The procedure didn't take long and it went by without a hitch. This is such a lovely family owned business and I just couldn't help but come and leave a review because I had such a wonderful experience. Thank you, Dr. Howard!

We are leaving this practice after just a couple of visits…read more Our first visit was fine - we liked Dr Altman and the quality of the cleaning, X-rays, etc. seemed fine. However, we've been disappointed with the practice since then. Our son had a cavity and we had to wait a month for an appointment to get it filled. And he's now had two adult teeth come in behind his baby teeth, and needs another emergency appointment. But I've called repeatedly and can't even get him on the calendar. The receptionist promises talk to the doctor and call back, and doesn't. She also tells me that, even if we can get squeezed in for an evaluation, the next appointment available for a tooth extraction is not until June - three months from now! Kiddie Cavity Care is the only provider on this side of town who accepts my insurance - so I will going be paying out of pocket to go elsewhere. I am disappointed that this dentist accepted us as patients so recently (just a couple of months ago) when the practice clearly is overbooked and does not have the capacity to accommodate new patients. My neighbor has also just left this practice after being unable to get her kids' cavity filled within the next two months.

While I can't vouch for the braces/Invisalign process, I can say that every other facet of the…read morepractice is top notch. First: making an appointment was extremely easy. I submitted a request on their website, and they responded via email the same day with their availability for the next few days. I *hate* talking on the phone, especially to schedule something, so this was an immediate green flag. Second: they actually use the paperwork you submit in advance! None of this nonsense where you fill out tons of paperwork ahead of your appointment only to be handed a clipboard and asked to do it all over again in person. Third: everybody, from Dr. Romsa to the front desk person, is extremely friendly and personable. The vibe was kind of like I was hanging out with new friends who just so happen to work in orthodontics. The office itself is very modern and bright, while still being warm and welcoming. Fourth: they were very timely. Despite the fact that there were several other people there when I arrived for my 9:00 appointment, I was taken care of right away, and was never left sitting alone waiting on the next step. Fifth: great website with very clear instructions on how to find them. Street parking in the area can be hit-or-miss, but the Trader Joe's garage is a good, reliable option. Sixth: I went in expecting to replace a broken bottom retainer - one of the old school pink-and-wire ones from (literally) 2005 - because a little piece of the plastic had chipped off the back. After seeing that it still fit and served its purpose, Dr. Romsa offered to just polish the broken edge to make it comfortable, and sent me on my way! With a new retainer case to boot! No making me a new retainer I didn't need. No upselling me on what I am sure is cooler, newer retainer technology. No pointing out any imperfections that have cropped up since I got my braces off almost two decades ago. All around just a fantastic experience. My only regret is that I may not ever have a reason to go back. But if something does come up, I know exactly where I'll go!
