After placing our backpacks in the rooms, we went out to eat. Upon our return, we sat on the bed and were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of dogs. While I like dogs, I do not appreciate sleeping in the same bed as a dog, especially when the covers have not been changed. The entire place reeked of dog odor. At around 8:30 pm, I called your 1-800 number, and the recording said it would text me a number for assistance. Vacasa: Hi from Vacasa. Welcome to Cake by the Ocean. We wanted to check in and make sure our cleaning meets your expectations. How clean was the home when you arrived? Myles: These beds smell like dogs. (Time: 8:12 pm) Vacasa: Let me check what we can do here. One moment, please. (Time: 8:14 pm) Myles: Ok. (Time: 8:14 pm) One hour later, I had not heard back from your company. I texted again, asking if someone would bring fresh sheets and blankets. We started washing the covers ourselves so we could go to bed. I used an entire can of Febreze, but it did nothing to mask the smell. Vacasa: I have notified the cleaning people, and they will reach out to you. Myles: I was tired from driving from Seattle. At 10:30 pm, I texted that this company should be ashamed. I requested fresh sheets, and you asked if both rooms smelled like dogs. You replied that you had to check my ticket and told me to keep my line open. We washed the blankets with the dish soap provided. We have been coming here for 30 years and have never experienced such poor service. The refrigerator smelled, and the toilet in the main part of the house did not work. The sad part is that no one called us back. All communication was via text. Vacasa: I'm really sorry to hear that the beds were not clean upon your arrival. That's certainly not the experience we want for our guests. (Time: 10:32 pm) Vacasa: Our local staff has been notified. Rest assured; we will get back to you once we receive an update. (Time: 10:33 pm) I never heard from anyone the next day. While we were at the water all day, we received a message at 12:31 pm from a male voice saying, "They did not say what you really needed, but call me if you need something." We were leaving the next morning. We were gone all day, returned to drop off some things, and then went out for dinner. The service was poor. When we woke up, the dog smell was even stronger, and the toilet was still not working. I took a picture of it. Upon checking out, I received two questionnaires asking about our stay. I mentioned the poor service, and today is September 9, 2024, and I have not heard a word from your company. We checked into a hotel in Portland and had to wash all our clothes and shower to get the stench of dog off our bodies and clothes. I love dogs, but I do not want to smell like them or sleep in the same bed they have slept in. The place was cute and in a nice location, but the smell was too strong, and I do not even have a strong sense of smell.

Right above the beach!…read more This place is a group of small cabins on the cliff above the beach. My daughter and I stayed in number 7 which is the two room cabin. Maybe the biggest here. Looking out the living room window is the OCEAN. The only downside of this is place is there are no bedroom doors. There is only one heater/gas stove the back rooms get cold. But this is late November so snuggle up with some warm blankets. It's so quite here you her the refrigerator making dying cat noises. You also here all the other noises in the cabin. In the summer time it must be great here. I'm thinking you can pop open a window or two and let the ocean air and crashing waves sounds in. Nye beach is a really cool part of town with shops and restaurants within walking distance. You can stay here for a whole week and not eat at the place twice.

And I've stayed at motels for $50 due to fishing and lack of rooms available. To start off, we couldn't get in our room because the code wasn't working. We tried for an hour to get a hold of the owner. Once we did, he was unkind and disrespectful and unsympathetic. Normally we'd be upset about this but to top it off, this is our honeymoon weekend and this place was the only place available with in our price range. It is very nicely decorated and cute so that's not a problem. Looks clean as well. But the owner was just awful. Then the bed. Again, what beds were you sleeping in? Both of us struggled and woke up hurting. Perhaps it's just this room but the pictures on two other reviews here show the same room we stayed in. There's holes in the wall too. They're not huge but an easy fix. Overall I would not stay here again one, because the owner was so rude to us. Not a way we want to start out our honeymoon. Two, because the bed was the absolute worst. You couldn't pay me to sleep on the bed again. So disappointing because this place is truly clean and very well decorated.

The owners have excellent tastes and they have anticipated everything that you may need to make your stay just like home. We have a family of 4 and we find this home just the right size. We have 2 daughters 5 & 11 and they sleep together so they are able to share the 2nd room. From the Viking oven to the 4 star bed linens this place is heaven I cannot say enough amazing adjectives to describe this beauty "Isabella". The only negative is the property management. Unfortunately you have to go through a company or more accurately a person whom in my opinion does not represent the warmth and beauty of " Isabella" please don't let that stop you or turn you away from staying here, it is merely a detail that is easily forgotten once you walk through the door. I have referred many people here and everyone loves it. Just a magical place.

There was dog pee on the carpets, holes in the two story balcony, leaking dishwasher, broken molding, gum under tables, stained furniture, rusty furniture, bathroom ceiling fans had exposed wires with no covers, dirty floors and hardware that was falling apart. You can also only access 4 closets out of the entire home (5 bedrooms). The rest are locked for the owners... PROPERTY MANAGER; has false advertised the property. The listing states game room and garage. There is no game room and the garage is locked. We also had check-in issues with the manager. Our invoice was also incorrectly stated. When questioned we were thrown to the side. When trying to cancel due to COVID we were told no with no explanation. With all these issues I have spent over 10 hours to reconcile with the booking company and the property manager but I have received no more than I am sorry. Bella Beach should be ashamed of their standards to let a listing be false advertised and to list a home at such bad condition, with no remorse to the renter.

Last year we stayed in the Salt and Sea which was a wonderful experience. Knowing that, we returned this year to stay in another place. This place has an incredible view of the ocean as the base of the house sits on the sand. We saw whales and many ships and boats while there. The houses are very nicely decorated and very clean. The price is beyond right as is the attention given by the staff. Thank you again Della for all you did for us while we were there. Pier St is great because you don't have to cross Sandlake Rd but the dune us STEEP. Not sure if its easier before or after drinking...depends on the drink LOL! Crossing Sandlake Rd is mostly fine, but there's an occasional fast car so best to just be aware. The dune on this access point was way easier :-) The houses are sparkling clean and it's obvious the owners really care. I got to meet Susy and she is a sweetheart who genuinely loves dogs. I love how detailed Susy is with her easy to follow instructions. She leaves nothing up to chance! The new combination lock worked great & I was easily able to create my own personal code. I plan to be back every year!

There were so many great touches on the house, plenty of utensils and cookware for those that love to cook, super comfy couches to curl up by the fire with a book ... there's a pretty wide selection of books in the bookcase if you've forgotten yours....puzzles, games, and DVDs. There had been a storm in the area that knocked the Wifi out, but it ended up being the perfect thing for us to unplug. We will definitely rent again!
