My husband and I decided to road trip from Boise to the Oregon Coast on a whim. We hunted AirBnb for a clean, well stocked room that wasn't too over budget. We got lucky and came across Troller's Lodge. Great accommodations, it really is a bang for your buck! Troller's Lodge is located right off Highway 101 towards the south end of Depoe Bay. There are several rooms to choose from depending on what your needs are (i.e. kitchen, extra living area, pet-friendly). We chose one of the larger rooms for only $106 a night. Amazingly, it was only an additional $22 for my pups to come join the fun. I appreciated this so much as all other places wanted to charge that much per dog PER NIGHT. Yikes. Thanks for allowing people who travel in a budget the ability to have their best friends without breaking my bank! Couple things to note - this place is not beachfront but you still get a decent view of the ocean if you're in rooms 7 through 12. There is no DVD player provided however there is a vast channel selection with many running popular movies and shows all day. We were provided small toiletries in our bathroom (shower stuffs, shaving cream, razor, toothbrush). It's about a 5 minute walk from the Smallest Harbor in the World, the beachfront shops and a gorgeous viewing area where you can watch whales nearly all times of the year. I would 10/10 recommend this place to any passerby, or anyone spending a day or two in this adorable coastal gem of a town. Thanks to the owners for everything!

We loved our stay. Clean and tidy rooms. Great location right near the beach and everything a 5-10 min walk away. We will be back!

This is the fourth time I have stayed here and the rooms are even better and cuter than ever . Quilted beds , fridge , microwave , gas outdoor grill all for $67.00 a night and very quiet. Super clean in the room and the grounds are pristine . Dogs get free dog bones as a welcome package . It is not on the beach and Depoe Bay does not have a beach, but just up the road in a great beach.

Would definitely stay here again! Stayed here for only one night but it was cozy and comfortable. Great location and dog friendly to boot. Has suites with kitchenets as well. The Trollers Lodge folks also manage some of the beach front houses, maybe they can hook you up.

I first discovered this home away from home when I was relocating the Oregon Coast back in 2001, I stayed there for a week with my 2 young boys. There was lots for them to do, and they had a friend in the dog that the owners have, they have a wonderful video library to use for free, and the kitchen was perfect size for us! I did find a job in Newport and left early not staying the entire week, because they were able to book my room for the 2 unused days I got a full refund so that was nice too. We are coming back to the coast and will stay there again...I can't wait!

Nice, mid-priced, clean room. #8 doesn't really have a view of the ocean, though. Still, good people and and a quiet spot.

They allow dogs and offer dog bowls and beds for your furry best friend. The room is simple but so lovely! There is an electric fireplace under the TV and a hammock like chair which was nice to read it. But the best part is the patio overlooking the world's smallest harbor. Beautiful, and peaceful! They offer tea, water, coffee and a small breakfast downstairs in the common area. There are plenty of games you can use and a library you can borrow from. The views are beautiful, the vibes are immaculate, and we would love to come back again!

The room had no TV, on purpose and that was just fine. My room overlooked the bay, had a small balcony and the weather was nice enough when I arrived that I took full advantage of the view. It overlooked the Depoe Bay harbor. Each night I used the lobby/lounge area for some peaceful journaling. The morning breakfast option only included fruit, granola (with milk - dairy or almond), and coffee or tea. The lobby has a microwave, dishes, bowls, and silverware available and a small selection of drinks for purchase on the honor system. If you're looking for a unique, peaceful stay on the coast, check out SCP Depoe Bay. I would stay there again.

Location-wise, it's conveniently nestled between Depoe Bay and Newport, making it a great base for exploring the Oregon coast. Day trips and sightseeing are easy from here. We stayed in a first-floor room. While every room likely offers lovely views, privacy was a bit of a challenge. We had looked forward to visiting this hotel for nearly a decade, especially for the spa on the balcony overlooking the cove--but we weren't comfortable using it due to direct visibility from the restaurant. The patio furniture was also quite firm, which made it tough to enjoy long stretches on the balcony--even with that incredible view. Inside the room, the layout and size were excellent. We appreciated the extra space to stretch out, and the oversized shower and double sinks were a plus. Our room appeared to include accessibility features, which may explain why the toilet area lacked a door despite the generous bathroom space. That said, there were a few areas where the room showed its age. The carpet had visibly shrunk around the edges, and the furniture felt a bit dated. Climate control was also an issue--there's no way to adjust the temperature beyond opening the door. This led to a bit of a tug-of-war between too hot and too cold, which definitely affected our sleep. Unfortunately, the coffee maker didn't work properly, and since there's no staff available after hours, there wasn't a way to get a replacement. The pillows weren't our favorite, though the bed itself was very comfortable. Overall, if you're planning a visit, the view is well worth it. Just go in with realistic expectations about some of the amenities and comfort features.

I can imagine it being glorious if it was a better weather, esp at sunset. The front desk people were friendly. Gave us good instructions upon check-in. The beach access is easy. Down the side of the property there are some stairs directly connecting to the beach. The cleanliness of the room is ok. There is a chair that had some gunk on the fabric -- we put a plastic bag over it to sit on. The hardwares (sink, tub, heating) show their age, but still very usable. What I would definitely want improved is the pillow. They are very cheap and not good. May have to bring my own next time. Overall for a budget hotel, it's not bad. Will probably return in the future.

After we checked in, and saw how rundown the place was, I checked the reviews and found that it was scheduled for demolition in the future (due to cliff erosion). Seeing the newer reviews, looks like it might finally be closed? Anyways, if it's not, do not stay here. Service was fine, but the room was stifling hot, no AC, the patio doors were decrepit, and we weren't comfortable keeping them open overnight. Also found that the gas fireplace was putting out heat even tho it was supposedly shut off! Do not stay here. Not worth the price.

The grounds are breathtaking, the rooms are spotless, and it's the most beautiful beach. The only downside is that it has LOTS and I mean LOTS of stairs. My daughter counted 85 or 86 stairs. As someone that suffered a pretty bad foot injury a few years back.... I am very sore after a few days of going up and down the stairs to get to the beach. It's also on a hill and you do not park near your room. A golf cart drops you and your belongings off at the room and you have to pack your luggage up stairs. It's a ton of walking. But know that if you stay here you are paying for a great location...not a great room. There are countless details detracting from what could make the Inn at Otter Crest a first class resort experience. Our $215 room was poorly decorated, outdated and in dire need of repainting the paper thin walls. With stained carpet, dingy white towels and dirty corners the room didn't look or feel clean. Add to that the refrigerator, coffee pot, ironing board and iron located in the bathroom, it all just felt tacky and confusing. No room service, plastic water glasses, paper coffee cups, 1 coffee packet for our 4 night stay and a TV with 8 black wires cascading down the wall along with 3 controllers that we never could figure out, topped things off. Think twice before choosing the Inn at otter Crest
