Been staying at this hidden gem for years. It's a true motor-hotel with a 1940s vibe. It's on a cliff overlooking the ocean - it doesn't get any better! The place is meticulously maintained and cleaned with well thought out amenities in the room. You're just off Hwy 101, but you can't hear any road noise. Szabo's restaurant is just across the street, with lots more eateries down the road. We didn't use the kitchen for any meal prep, but you certainly could - full-size fridge, stove, pots & pans, etc. Office staff Paula and Debbie were friendly and welcoming. Paula personally escorted us to our room upon check-in... nice touch. It really felt like coming home. The gas firepit was so warm and cozy. There are stairs going down to the beach - a nice cardio workout coming back up! The grounds are clean and neat - lots of grassy area. The place is just plain quaint and charming, and always feels like home. We've already made reservations for next year, reserving 3 rooms this time for a family getaway. We can't wait!

After a very unpleasant experience at another hotel I stumbled upon this little jewel. The grounds are beautiful and so are the rooms. The staff was so friendly and accommodating...I changed my stay from 1 night to 3, I just didn't want to leave. This is my new go to spot when I need a little getaway.

What a great getaway spot! We booked just one night for our family of 3 (me, my husband, our 1 year old son) and I wish we could have booked more! Our room was quiet, clean, and nicely decorated. It is a huge perk having the bedroom separate from the living area when traveling with a toddler. The bedroom was small but there was just enough room to tuck a pack and play in there. We were able to put our son to bed and enjoy a quiet dinner (delivery from a local restaurant) just the two of us. Waking up and having coffee with a view of the ocean was great too! We had a great time and we will absolutely stay here again in the future.

Stayed last summer and had a great time. The property, views and access to the beach were wonderful. The fire pit and little decks at each of the units made it easy to spend time outside very comfortably. Loved being able to bring our dogs. The unit had everything we needed. We loved talking with the owner and shared a bottle of wine with her at the fire pit. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I live at the beach but don't have ocean views on my deck. Reading on the deck and looking up to see eagles flying over the surf was really special.

Our family has been staying here for many years and recommend it to all of our friends and family. We LOVE this place and look forward to our annual trip. The staff is amazing and very friendly. Checkin and checkout is easy. We usually rent two units side by side. The cost is comparable to most of the hotels in town. They offer a discount to returning guest if you call the office for reservations. We also love this place is family owned and you can tell by the hospitality. The views and access to the beach create a relaxing and family/dog friendly experience. A nice easy mile or so walk to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and tide pools. Most cottages are pet friendly. Rooms are very clean. They meticulously clean each room and there is no trace or smell of animals in the pet friendly rooms. Little extras like providing good local coffee, quality toiletries (soap, lotions, shampoo etc.), dog bowls, and evening campfire with s'mores sets this place apart from your average beach hotel. The secret is out about how special this place is so make your reservations early! Rooms book up fast, especially over the summer weekends. I usually book about 6 months in advance to secure summer dates.

We stayed here when wildfires made our camping plans impossible - we're so thankful we found this place! Friendly helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, great kitchen setup and views of the beach out front (when visible through smoke). We appreciated the compost bin available to use in the kitchen as well as locally sourced coffee and other nice toiletries provided. We'll definitely return when we can enjoy it properly with fresh air!

Breakfast with a view!

We are now ending our third stay at this awesome little place on the ocean. We will be sad to move down the coast to a new location. This time, we stayed in Unit 4, which is next door to The unit we stayed in in our first visit. This place did not disappoint yet again! I wish we could stay longer! I love that I know what to expect here, there is private beach access, that we have a kitchen to prepare meals in, because that means we can afford to stay longer if most of our meals are prepared in our room, and that it has a living area that makes me feel like I'm home. This is our home away from home while visiting the coast. We would stay longer if there was an available room for the time we have to spend here!

Nicely renovated 1940s motor inn. We stayed in Room 5. I'd honestly rate probably 3.5 stars. They've done a very nice job updating the property but walls are a bit thin so I can hear that the next door neighbor has walked back and forth in their unit (with heavy foot steps) a bunch of times. Not such a big deal unless it's before 7am like it is for me. Simply appointed room: electric wall hanging "fireplace" (good ambiance and did provide added warmth), bistro-sized kitchen table, couch could seat 3 adults if needed but can't really lay down, a sitting chair, as well as a couple of Adirondack chairs on the deck. Queen bed. This room only has a cozy shower stall and no bath tub. We didn't use the kitchenette but there is a full size gas stove and fridge for cooking meals. Also, dishware, pans, micro, coffee maker, and soap to wash stuff. Some guests left and as housekeeping was cleaning the room we asked to peek at room 7 - I think that is the unit featured on their website. If weather and wind conditions permit, they manager will have a fire in the pit with s'mores available to make, if you desire. Some road construction as you enter the property is happening at this time.

Unfortunately this is common with hotel housekeeping when they don't use fresh rags and cleaner. So that's disappointing. The pillows are very firm and puffy which wasn't nice, and the restaurant in the hotel wasn't the best. The good: Stunning views of the beach. Our huge two person soaking tub was AMAZING. Bed was comfortable, staff were extremely friendly! The room was spacious and fun. Fire place was cozy! Just 80 steps down a staircase to the beach. Awesome ocean wave sounds all night. Has coffee, tea, and even a bag of microwave popcorn complimentary for guests. We would come back for sure! We got winter rates as we went in February. Fridays and weekends are more expensive just so you know! Pretty nice stay, I don't know that I would call it a resort. It is pretty much your basic Oregon coast hotel maybe just a tad nicer.

Pros: We had a nice spacious 3rd floor room with a great view of the beach. The hotel has nice amenities like great toiletries that smell lovely, nice robe and a balcony plus a fireplace. Shower had 3 separate water nozzles which was fun! (Although took a minute to figure out how to use) Heated infinity Jacuzzi pool was wonderful! Fire pits near the pool also great! The front desk people were all very nice. The place was clean and they had cookies in the lobby that we tried one day (yum!) Cons: I was disappointed that they apparently did away with the made to order breakfast that they have pictured in their website. Instead of the items pictured was a Continental breakfast delivered in little plastic containers in a box. It was not bad taste wise, and I definitely appreciated the hard boiled egg as a bit of protein along with all the carbs. But it would have been nice to know of this change before booking. Price is fairly high for the cold month of March. We asked about the sofa bed getting set up for our 3rd person in the room and were told we needed to make it ourselves. For the price we paid it would have been nice that they could have sent someone to set up the sofabed, that was weird, and unexpected. Kind of felt like something a much lower end hotel would ask you to do. I debated between 3 and 4 stars since there were both good and bad points. If there was a 3.5 stars option this is what i'd choose honestly. I'd come back again but only if I got a much better rate.

I started this experience with the Whiskey Fog. This is an absolutely fantastic start for the evening, see the photos for the description of this cocktail and watch the video to see the presentation. I had tried this cocktail on the last visit and I have been dreaming about it ever since. This cocktail was every bit as perfectly executed as the first one I tried. From the presentation I the last swallow was absolutely perfect. Next was the appetizer. I selected the Deviled Eggs. I chose the Southwest, Dill Pickle, and Sweet Bourbon Bacon. They were flavorful and well prepared and the presentation was excellent. A very impressive start of the meal. I highly recommend this item. Please see the photos for the description and presentation. For the main dish I selected the Prosciutto Scallops. I do not order Scallops very frequently because I am seldom satisfied with the outcome. Scallops are very easily over cooked. However I felt adventurous and intrigued by the menu's description of the dish. I was not disappointed in the least. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the layers of flavor are very well balanced, perfectly executed, and well thought out. There again, the presentation was excellent. Please see the photos for the description of the dish and the presentation. My wife ordered the Orange Cauliflower and the Stir Fried Quinoa. I would like to thank Alli C. our server for the evening. Her hospitality and attentiveness were outstanding. She was definitely a major factor in our very enjoyable evening. When we first arrived and checked in, the owner happened to be there. He was very welcoming and friendly. He detailed a lot of the accommodations, and gave great food recommendations for the local area as well. The office had plenty of movies to borrow, as well as some toiletries for sale. They had candy and popcorn for sale too. And there was a very handy spice rack you could borrow from. There are only six condos on the property, so it is a pretty cozy experience, and the customer service is very attentive overall. The condo itself was great! It was very clean, especially for a "beachside resort". There's a small bedroom and bathroom downstairs with a shower, as well as a decent sized kitchen with everything you would need to cook. The dining area has a great view of Agate Beach. And the living area was cozy to relax in, with a gas fireplace to heat the place up. When going up the stairs, there's a cute nook to relax and read a book in while looking out over the ocean/beach. Upstairs has the master bedroom and bathroom. The jacuzzi tub was awesome! Maybe my only complaint about the entire condo is that the bed in our master bedroom wasn't the most comfortable, but I also admit I can be picky about my mattress. Immediately when leaving the room, there's a long flight of decently maintained stairs leading out to Agate Beach. Be prepared to wade through some shallow water to get out to the beach proper! At the top of the stairs is a patio area with barstools to sit at and enjoy. Every night, there is a small campfire and complimentary s'mores. We never saw anyone else out at it, but the wife and I enjoyed relaxing by it for a couple of nights. They have a great park-like area to walk your dog by the campfire (the condos are dog friendly!) There looked to be some horseshoe pits and some other outdoor games you could play too. The paths are all well maintained and the landscaping is pretty. Location wise, Starfish Point is close to perfect. Just outside of town, so very nearby stores and restaurants. You're right down the road from the lighthouse and a 9 hole golf course. And of course, you have Agate Beach right there to walk to! It is just off 101, so you would deal with some road noise if you're out in the park area (which is closer to 101), but you can't hear anything from your condo. 10/10 experience to be had at starfish point, I would definitely stay here again!
