My family and I arrived on 5/31/19 for a week's stay. We were greeted as if we were arriving for a family visit. Michelle and her staff were simply a warm welcome to an unforgettable stay. From the house cleaning staff to the maintenance crew, all greeted us and continually showed their appreciation for choosing their site. I'd like to give a shout out to Timothy (night shift manager) who was an excellent listener and understanding, to two of the housekeepers who showed up to our room and were delightful to interact with and were both professional and caring. I'm most grateful to our most excellent "host" THEE PACIFIC OCEAN!! Our room was perched just so we view and hear its' MAGNIFICENCE. My family and I felt secure and very comfortable in this place. THANK YOU FOR A RELAXING AND INVIGORATING VACATION! Two SOLID THUMBS UP!!! The LIVELYs

A room with a nice ocean view.

All the pluses of a typical WM resort. All units do not have a view. Beach access and restaurants in walking distance.

Absolutely beautiful Inn by the beach in the Historic Taft District…read more Siletz Bay is super easy to access. The rooms are dog friendly--they provide bowl, a towel, treats, waste baggies, and sheets for your furry friend. Their Pet Area is adorable. With a fire hydrant for those of us with boy doggos lol Our room was above the breezeway. We had a view of the bay. Had a comfy fireplace. Could open the window--that salty sea air was much needed for this land-locked family! They have in-shower toiletries in pump dispensers. Plus actual hand soap and lotion. Mini fridge with good size freezer that worked! Microwave and large screen TV. Plus coffee maker in room. They have coin operated laundry on site. $1.25/wash $1.25/dry. Quarters can be exchanged in the lobby. Cookies are nightly in lobby 5-7pm Continental bfast was 8-10am. Nice selection: oatmeal with toppings, yogurt, fresh fruits, mini donuts+muffins, bagels w/strawberry or regular cream cheese (and toaster), string cheese, power packs of dried fruits to take on the go, individual cereals with white or chocolate milk, coffee and tea, a water bottle fill station. They also have beach blankets and beach bonfire blankets to borrow. They have a fire pit area with loungers and area to cook crab too. As well as hose stations to rinse off the sandy feets. The customer service here is AMAZING. You're treated like family instead of just a guest. Just be aware the lobby is not 24hrs. So if you need things, gotta take care of it before they close at 9/10pm. The location is ideal for walking around the Taft District. We admired all the adorable cottages along the way. We much preferred walking to places and leaving our vehicle parked was a bonus. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact, we might be planning another stay for our 25th anniversary! Job well done Looking Glass! You have our stamp of approval. Love this place and the Oregon Coast.

The hotel structure and location is beautiful. The rooms are HUGE and the size and layout alone feel like you're at a large resort. They've been nicely updated and felt clean which is great. Decor choices range from super cool, unique, & nice to kind of silly or odd. Especially the eclectic collection of dishware in the rooms. They have a very decently sized outdoor pool that we really enjoyed swimming in during a rainy and freezing cold February on the Oregon Coast. The pool was a consistently comfortable 83 degrees and you can see the steam coming off of it. This is a major perk of this hotel option. Also a good hot tub and sauna to utilize. You're right on the beach, so amenity wise I don't know if there's much missing besides firepits, but you could easily make your own on the sand. Staff was either just okay, not super great, or fine. Nothing stands out as far as service, and I see that echoed in quite a lot of reviews. It just doesn't seem like people really enjoy working here which smells of a greater issue than we as guests might see, and that's a bummer. It's an older building and some areas of the hotel seem dingey and dirty, especially the pretty ugly looking carpet in the elevators. Remember when I said there are cons to this hotel that I am still trying to put my finger on? I kept saying this hotel was "almost nice". Something about it seems off and I think it's the areas of age and dirt + the lackluster staff bringing the vibes down. You've got so many mom and pop type places to stay at the coast that offer warm cookies or popcorn in the lobby, beach toys to rent, free movies to check out in the rooms, board games, and even happy hours in the lobby or smores in the firepits..This hotel would be outstanding if they added some whimsy & charm like this!

Located inside the Inn at Spanish…read moreHead, it has one of the most incredible ocean views in Lincoln City--truly a beautiful setting. That said, I sometimes find myself wondering why I keep coming back. Convenience definitely plays a role, especially when staying at the hotel or meeting friends. The food itself is good overall, and the clam chowder is one of my favorites--hearty, flavorful, and loaded with potatoes and clams. The consistent downside, however, is the service. Each visit seems to come with very slow service, even when the restaurant isn't particularly busy. During our most recent visit, two drinks ordered from the menu took a long time to arrive because the server hadn't made them before, which extended the wait even further. Food service was also slow to follow. The staff are always polite and friendly, and this isn't a one-off experience--my friend agreed it's been the same on every visit, whether the restaurant is busy or quiet. Overall, it's a lovely place with great views and solid food, but if you're arriving hungry or thirsty, expect to wait. With more efficient service, this would easily be a standout dining spot.

Some repairs have been made since my last post. The lock had been replaced, as well as some furniture. We've stayed here before. All of our visits were great except for the 4th of July a few year's ago. The beach became overflowing with visitors and campfires. The smoke rolls up the building and the balcony isn't useful anymore. Not without complete smoke inhalation. This time we chose a room without a balcony. It was in the corner of the building with a great window for viewing all the sea life we witnessed that weekend. It was sunny the first few days but like any good day on the coast, the rain comes seemingly from out of nowhere. We just closed the windows and continued the enjoying the views. The staff is super friendly. The continental breakfast is bangin as well. The parking lot is adventurous. There is plenty of parking. Low vehicles beware. The upper and lower parking garages both have a very low point. You can see year's of damage to the roadway from drivers past. I once saw a import vehicle get stuck a little. They just backed up and went faster to clear the low point. I wondered about the oil pan cover. Any who. The beach goes on for farther than the eyes can see and outside the bay, just a short walk from the hotel is the open ocean. If your in to drift wood. This is the salty shores of your dreams. People make art and structures out of the unlimited supply of building materials. The fireworks display in the bay is awesome. I would suggest finding a beach spot for that event. Did I mention the famous seafood restaurant near the hotel? There are many places all within a short walk of the hotel from restaurants and bars to a local grocery store and a cool glass blowing studio you can get lessons at. I'm sure we'll be back here soon. We like it a lot.

You are only a short walk from restaurants and the beach. It is not a fancy place, but the open balcony to sit outside and listen to the waves while smelling the fresh air is worth it. I really appreciated the kind gesture of putting a birthday card and local chocolates on the bed (it made me feel truly special, thank you!). The French Press and coffee grounds were such a nice touch! Bed and pillows were comfy. Sitting outside on the balcony to watch the waves was enjoyable. Down below our balcony are cozy fire pits with chairs. The chairs were occupied most of the time, so we didn't sit by the fire... but we had our dogs with us too. TV was good, just wish it was bigger. Room was clean. Breakfast was subpar. The area to serve yourself and eat felt crowded as well. The shower in our room had good water pressure but the shower drain was clogged which causes it to pool up anytime we used it. Sink was fine. Screen door had a hole near the handle. Rooms felt closer than I would like. Hallway to get to room felt narrow. I believe we had two different neighbors across the hall during our stay. The second set of guests (both adults and children) were not very considerate with noise, especially during the evening and early morning hours. Of course, this isn't something the Coho can always control, but it did impact the peaceful atmosphere at times. Overall though, the Coho itself was wonderful, and with a little more mindfulness from fellow guests, the experience could be perfect. This is a great option for coastal views. Prices are okay. I would come back here again.

This was our second time staying at the Coho Lodge and it will be our last. It was sh*tty in a…read moreliteral sense. The main issue is that there was an extremely loud, unceasing mechanical noise come from the ducts right outside our room (#72). When I asked reception about changing rooms, I was told that the hotel was completely booked and there was nothing they could do. This didn't leave us with any option but to stay the night. We got very little sleep, not just because of the unrelenting noise ALL NIGHT LONG, but because the mattress was oddly hard and lumpy. My partner who does not have back issues woke up in excruciating pain. Now, one of the nicest parts about this hotel is the oceanfront location. However, even that was ruined for us. Our room led directly out to a grassy area overlooking the sea. We walked out there at dusk to watch the sunset, only since the light was dim, we stepped into a pile of dog shi*t several feet away from the door. That really sums it up - what was supposed to be a brief romantic getaway to the coast turned into a hot, steaming turd. This was hands down the most hellacious hotel stay of my life. If you choose to stay here, good luck - I sincerely hope you have a better experience.
