My family and I arrived on 5/31/19 for a week's stay. We were greeted as if we were arriving for a family visit. Michelle and her staff were simply a warm welcome to an unforgettable stay. From the house cleaning staff to the maintenance crew, all greeted us and continually showed their appreciation for choosing their site. I'd like to give a shout out to Timothy (night shift manager) who was an excellent listener and understanding, to two of the housekeepers who showed up to our room and were delightful to interact with and were both professional and caring. I'm most grateful to our most excellent "host" THEE PACIFIC OCEAN!! Our room was perched just so we view and hear its' MAGNIFICENCE. My family and I felt secure and very comfortable in this place. THANK YOU FOR A RELAXING AND INVIGORATING VACATION! Two SOLID THUMBS UP!!! The LIVELYs

A room with a nice ocean view.

All the pluses of a typical WM resort. All units do not have a view. Beach access and restaurants in walking distance.

The staff at check-in and housekeeping were friendly and professional. They were eager to assist if any need would arrise. This property recently just completed a renovation taking care of minor touchups as well as replacing the soft goods, just in time for the busy summer season. My wife and I loved this location because of the convenient dining options, ample on-property parking and short walk to the beach. We will definitely be back when visiting again, as well as recommend it to friends and family.

The rooms are dog friendly--they provide bowl, a towel, treats, waste baggies, and sheets for your furry friend. Their Pet Area is adorable. With a fire hydrant for those of us with boy doggos lol Our room was above the breezeway. We had a view of the bay. Had a comfy fireplace. Could open the window--that salty sea air was much needed for this land-locked family! They have in-shower toiletries in pump dispensers. Plus actual hand soap and lotion. Mini fridge with good size freezer that worked! Microwave and large screen TV. Plus coffee maker in room. They have coin operated laundry on site. $1.25/wash $1.25/dry. Quarters can be exchanged in the lobby. Cookies are nightly in lobby 5-7pm Continental bfast was 8-10am. Nice selection: oatmeal with toppings, yogurt, fresh fruits, mini donuts+muffins, bagels w/strawberry or regular cream cheese (and toaster), string cheese, power packs of dried fruits to take on the go, individual cereals with white or chocolate milk, coffee and tea, a water bottle fill station. They also have beach blankets and beach bonfire blankets to borrow. They have a fire pit area with loungers and area to cook crab too. As well as hose stations to rinse off the sandy feets. The customer service here is AMAZING. You're treated like family instead of just a guest. Just be aware the lobby is not 24hrs. So if you need things, gotta take care of it before they close at 9/10pm. The location is ideal for walking around the Taft District. We admired all the adorable cottages along the way. We much preferred walking to places and leaving our vehicle parked was a bonus. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact, we might be planning another stay for our 25th anniversary! Job well done Looking Glass! You have our stamp of approval. Love this place and the Oregon Coast.

The hotel structure and location is beautiful. The rooms are HUGE and the size and layout alone feel like you're at a large resort. They've been nicely updated and felt clean which is great. Decor choices range from super cool, unique, & nice to kind of silly or odd. Especially the eclectic collection of dishware in the rooms. They have a very decently sized outdoor pool that we really enjoyed swimming in during a rainy and freezing cold February on the Oregon Coast. The pool was a consistently comfortable 83 degrees and you can see the steam coming off of it. This is a major perk of this hotel option. Also a good hot tub and sauna to utilize. You're right on the beach, so amenity wise I don't know if there's much missing besides firepits, but you could easily make your own on the sand. Staff was either just okay, not super great, or fine. Nothing stands out as far as service, and I see that echoed in quite a lot of reviews. It just doesn't seem like people really enjoy working here which smells of a greater issue than we as guests might see, and that's a bummer. It's an older building and some areas of the hotel seem dingey and dirty, especially the pretty ugly looking carpet in the elevators. Remember when I said there are cons to this hotel that I am still trying to put my finger on? I kept saying this hotel was "almost nice". Something about it seems off and I think it's the areas of age and dirt + the lackluster staff bringing the vibes down. You've got so many mom and pop type places to stay at the coast that offer warm cookies or popcorn in the lobby, beach toys to rent, free movies to check out in the rooms, board games, and even happy hours in the lobby or smores in the firepits..This hotel would be outstanding if they added some whimsy & charm like this!

I can imagine it being glorious if it was a better weather, esp at sunset. The front desk people were friendly. Gave us good instructions upon check-in. The beach access is easy. Down the side of the property there are some stairs directly connecting to the beach. The cleanliness of the room is ok. There is a chair that had some gunk on the fabric -- we put a plastic bag over it to sit on. The hardwares (sink, tub, heating) show their age, but still very usable. What I would definitely want improved is the pillow. They are very cheap and not good. May have to bring my own next time. Overall for a budget hotel, it's not bad. Will probably return in the future.

After we checked in, and saw how rundown the place was, I checked the reviews and found that it was scheduled for demolition in the future (due to cliff erosion). Seeing the newer reviews, looks like it might finally be closed? Anyways, if it's not, do not stay here. Service was fine, but the room was stifling hot, no AC, the patio doors were decrepit, and we weren't comfortable keeping them open overnight. Also found that the gas fireplace was putting out heat even tho it was supposedly shut off! Do not stay here. Not worth the price.

We had made reservations for 7/14-17 in January. When we arrived the clerk/manager told us the…read morereservations in the computer were for 7/15-18. The manager was incredibly rude and threatened to cancel the reservation. Fortunately we were flexible with our vacation plans. We had to find another hotel for the night. We were informed by the clerk at that hotel that they get several guests per month who told them that the manager had cancelled reservations without notice or cause or had other wise messed up reservations. On 7/14 we paid for the rooms in full and were assured we would have two rooms with balconies when we checked in the following day. The manager Muni, who had promised us we would have two balcony rooms in the 4th floor, did not reserve two balcony rooms - which we had paid for in full - and only had one room reserved for us. Instead of apologizing for not doing what she had promised she threatened to cancel the reservation once again. We were then given one balcony room and one without a balcony. Muni, the manager, promised we would be refunded the difference for the rooms for which we had paid in full. Balcony rooms are more expensive than non-balcony rooms. At the same time, another guest was checking in who had requested a room on the first floor due to some significant medical disabilities. The request was confirmed by email. That guest was given a room on the third floor (a violation of ADA) and the manager did not even attempt to honor the guaranteed requested room. The manager, Muni, never once apologized for what was clearly her error. I asked for her boss's name and number as she was so incredibly rude and was not honoring her promise. She wrote down a number and gave me her boss's name. It was a fake number. When we checked out I asked the desk clerk, Jeff, why our bill did not reflect the correct amount as we did not have the two balcony rooms for which we had paid. He said he was not going to change the amount or give us the promised refund as it was up to Muni, who he now referred to as the "general manager". I asked Jeff for Muni's boss's name and number and he said she did not have a boss as she was the "general manager". I asked him for the owner's name and he said "the owner is not interested in speaking with anyone". I asked him for the prices of the two different room (balcony vs non-balcony) and he refused to tell me. He said I had to speak with Muni the "general manager". I then called the reservation number and was told that the rooms were significantly less than what we had paid and that the balcony room was $30 more than a non-balcony room. We had made our reservations in January with Muni. The hotel is incredibly run-down. There were holes in the curtains, the bathroom light had to be switched on and off several times before the light actually went on, the lock in the door and screen in the balcony did not work, the small sofa in the room was threadbare. We have been staying at the Siletz Bay Lodge every year for years - way before it was bought out by Oyo. It is incredibly sad to see what has become of it. It was a lovely place to stay and the staff - prior to the current staff were welcoming and kind and helpful. The only good thing I can say about it is that the location is perfect. But the rudeness and incompetence of the staff make for a very dissatisfying experience. I would give it less than one star if I could.

This was an interesting stay. Amazing location…read more Horrible customer service. Super sketchy looking laundry room with one washer and one dryer, I went to use it thinking it's a perk that it's across from the room I was staying it. It ate my money, when my dad went to tell the front desk about the issue there was a lady who was super rude saying she's not giving him a refund and acted like he was lying. When he just wanted to let them know the washer was broken. So I had to bag up the soapy clothes from the washer. As we were doing that we heard shouting from guests who had just arrived about how disgusting their room is, it was so bad the lady stormed out. Apparently there was hair on the walls and bedding (they had a suite with a balcony) I stayed in the room with no balcony and 2 beds. I witnessed another guest who booked a 3 day stay in the same room and was locked out after the first night because their system showed her for day one and day three, but not day two. Which makes absolutely no sense. The couches were pretty gross so we put a sheet over it. Mattress had pee stains. At least the fridge worked? And you get free entertainment from all the angry guests. The t.v. had basic cable only. Walls were super thin. I've stayed in so many different hotels and this one gave the vibe of the going rage of 60/night. So definitely overpriced for the accommodations they provide. But I still had a really good time on my visit. Just had to be flexible with my environment.
