I have stayed at Cavalier Condos many times over the years but I had not been to the Oregon Coast for five years, due to a serious illness in my family. Upon returning for five nights this past week, I like it just as much as ever. The staff is still great, the sweeping view of the ocean is wonderful, and the units are continuously updated by their owners. It's reasonably priced, conveniently located halfway between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay, with a nearby grocery store. All the units have identical layouts with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a well-outfitted kitchen, a comfortable living room, a dining table, a fireplace stocked with wood, WIFI and cable TV, an ocean-view balcony and access to the beach. It's all I want for a restful stay. read more

Wow what an amazing stay. The parking spots are assigned so no worries finding parking and the Christmas decor was nice. The condo had 2 spacious rooms with a fair sized living and dining room. The dining room view of the ocean was breathtaking and amazing to stare out at night or first thing in the morning. The rooms also isolate sound really well which helped for our toddler sleeping while we were still up. There is a shared rec center with pool, foozball, and a swimming pool. It also has a great beach access with an amazing overlook. 10/10 and this may be where we stay for all future Lincoln city visits. read more

Another wonderful stay! This time, we were in #21, which worked out perfectly for our group, with three beds, two of which were in a room separated by a pocket door. The unit was beautifully appointed, including a welcome bottle of wine (and sparkling cider) and chocolates from the unit's owner. There's quick access to the beach, but the best part was just sitting on the balcony, watching (and hearing) the waves. read more

Not a review but a question: why is there an enormous discrepancy between the one-star reviews and the much larger number of 5 star reviews? Are the complaints about an unkempt environment and old furniture limited to a particular unit or units? Have these problems been resolved since these reviews were posted? Just returned from my third stay at this property. We love it! Have stayed in multiple units and so far they have all been very nice and well equipped to meet our needs. I love the views of the ocean from all the rooms. So gorgeous! Doesn't matter what time of year, I will always love staring out at the ocean from the comfort of a pleasant condo. We enjoyed the pool and noticed that it is kept at a warmer than many hotel pools, which is pleasant for a wintertime visit. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Had the most AMAZING experience in Condo 25 at Cavalier! The unit was SPOTLESS, had amazing views and the beds were really comfy, even the couch bed! But what we most enjoyed were Simon and the staff at Cavalier. We stayed there while in town for my sister's wedding and it was perfect! They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The pool was closed for maintenance while we were there and after seeing that I was traveling with four kids, Simon offered us free tickets to the aquarium to make up for it, which was SO nice! He even had a bunch of plastic kites behind the counter that he gave the kids to play with on the beach. I will not hesitate to book here again! Love, love, loved every bit of it! We have been visiting Cavalier for many years. I always liked making reservations with the manager as he knew what we liked & has always been as polite as can be. Recently we made a couple of attempts to make reservations, but never received a return call. That was so unlike him. I sent him a text asking if he was mad at me as our last rental at the Cavalier was through Evolve Rentals (prices were lower). His response was curt & he brushed me off to his staff. Very disappointing & hurtful. We won't be going back. read more

We stayed in unit #23. Very nice, all the amenities. You can back right up to the entrance to unload. The nice young man who checked us in also offered to unload our car and haul it into the unit...a great blessing as we are physically challenged. The heated pool is a great benefit. read more

Cavalier beachfront condo #37 was wonderful, updated decor was very nice, beds were wonderful , kitchen well appointed could use a few more dish towels, guest bath shower was very small and tight but rest of the bathroom was updated, condo was very clean and had a washer and dryer. You can tell building is older but very well maintained the grounds were beautiful, beachfront was the most amazing and getting down to the beach wasn't hard stairs my elderly mom 79 could manage them just fine. Simon the property Manager and staff were so very nice and answered any question that we had. We watched 3 killer whales from our window for about 1/2 hour highlight of the trip. AMAZING!!!! The condo we were in was the bottom corner unit #29. The condo was nicely furnished with everything we needed and had beautiful views of the ocean and the beach was really nice to go for walks or just hang out. We felt secluded as the beach was private, with no public access. My parents stayed there every year and made special memories together. My mom passed away at Christmas, so my dad wanted me and my husband to get to share what they had. It could not have been more perfect for us. We plan to make this a yearly trip if we can afford it. Next time we may take our teenagers as there is a game room with a pool table, ping pong, foosball, and TV for gaming. They also have an indoor swimming pool and sauna. So if the beach isn't enough for them, they have other fun stuff to do. The kitchen had all we needed so we didn't need to eat out for each meal. But when we wanted to have a nice dinner, there were many options on Hwy 101 between Lincoln City and Newport Beach. read more

Our family makes numerous trips per year to Lincoln City and this was our first time staying at the Cavalier. Located about 20 min away from town, these condos are tucked away in a very private and quiet neighborhood right on the ocean. The particular unit we stayed in was remodeled and very nice and clean. We loved the spacious kitchen and living room with front views overlooking the ocean. The condo comes with pots, pans, all kinds of dishes, storage containers, cooking gadgets, utensils, coffee maker, microwave, paper towels, dishwasher soap, sponge, cups, mugs, you name it. We stayed in a two bedroom which gave us as well as our kids the privacy we needed with our own separate bathrooms. Master bathroom was located inside of the bedroom which was great. If there were any cons or things we could change it would be having the bedroom overlooking the ocean versus the back side of the parking lot and maybe having a deep soaking tub as both bathrooms have showers only. Maybe another unit has this layout? Not sure but definitely would recommend this place for all families. read more

We stayed for a weekend with friends at these cute condos tucked away in a quiet residential area of a Gleneden Beach. The entire condo was very spacious with fantastic ocean front views from the living room and dining/kitchen. A lovely balcony to enjoy the ocean easily sat 6 people . Beach access was very easy and enjoyable. The condo manager, Simon, was very friendly and accommodating to our needs or questions. It was a very reasonable cost for what you got. We have already reserved a condo for next summer for 4th of July weekend since Simon informed us that fireworks are spectacular to see from the condos. We had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration in unit 29. The view is spectacular and this unit is beautifully furnished. Kitchen well stocked and we couldn't believe you supplied coffee and the tray of tea and coffee supplies. Although my 83 year old mother couldn't make the steps down to the beach the rest of us enjoyed the easy access to the beach. My mother was thankful that everything was on one floor. We also enjoyed the pool, sauna and had some very competitive games of pool. The only reason I did not give a full 5 I did try for a 4 and 1/2 was the bed linens. The blankets we found for the pullout sofa bed were ragged and full of holes. One had a funny smell also. Otherwise everything perfect!! read more

The spacious condo is extremely clean and beautifully furnished with every comfort and amenity we could hope for (even board games, puzzles, and kites). We have stayed at Cavalier 4 times now, in different units each time. Every time with kids. This is our favorite go-to place now. Big units, always very clean. Lovely property with indoor pool and rec room for the kids. secure beach access with terrific patio space beachfront for just relaxing. Amazing views from balconies in each unit. Covered parking. The most friendly, informative, and helpful staff I've encountered in a long time. Some units are more updated than others, but again, they are all very clean. I have stayed with just 4 people and with 7, the units are large enough with full kitchens to accommodate everyone comfortably. Linens are plentiful, paper products are stocked. We recently stayed, and my friend had accidentally left her car dome light on for 2 days, which of course led to a drained battery. Simon was right there with jumper cables without us even asking! Convenient location between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay, quick to get everywhere. I do wish there were some units without stairs, as it will be more difficult to bring my mom. But some units have walk-in showers and higher toilets, and the stairs are 1/2 flight of only 7 to get to the 1st or 2nd floor. Thanks again Simon's team for a great time! read more

Booked this place on a recommendation from a co-worker. Kids and I had a great time staying here with the ocean right at the base of the condo. Views were stellar and the inside floorplan was perfect for the 4 of us. The pool is heated and the gameroom is setup with pingpong and billiards. Simon at checkin was great. We stayed in unit #31. The room itself is a large 2 bedroom condo with a great view. But.... this unit has furniture that's so old it's like stuff you'd find at a Goodwill store. It all looks good but, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!! My mom is elderly and handicapped. We spent the extra money on a nice room so she could be comfortable. Over $300 per night. There was a thick layer of dust on everything. Floors were dirty and not vacuumed. Found popcorn kernels all over the carpet in the living room. There's only one recliner that didn't really recline and when you put the feet rest up it started swiveling on it's own so I had to block it with a piece of fire wood. A bolt fell out of the coffee table and I had to screw it back in by hand. The bed in the Master Bedroom was so old and broken down you could see with your eyes the lumps and sunken in places on both sides of it. My mom suffered because of it and hardly got any sleep. The filaments on the stove were all slanted so couldn't keep a skillet on it without it slipping off. In the hall bathroom, the towel rack fell off the wall when I touched it and the face plate on the plug in fell off every time I closed the door. It's a nice place but this unit SUCKED!!!!!!! I will not stay in this unit #31 again, and if you want to relax and enjoy your time at the beach, I don't recommend you do either!! read more

These condominiums were absolutely the cleanest most well decorated and family-friendly place to stay on the beach! They had free firewood for the fireplace and all the furniture including the couches and the beds were amazingly comfortable. They even gave us a little extra hot chocolate for our boys! They had extra board games in the cupboard and the stairs to the beach aren't easy walk. The staff was sweet. This was literally are absolute favorite place to stay on the beach! Wonderful location directly ocean front with easy to walk down private beach access. Rooms are each individually owned but ours was very updated and very clean, comfy beds comfy sofa, nice fireplace in living room that was ready to go when we checked in, friendly staff and very accommodating when we had to check in late we informed them and got a lockbox code for the condo since office closes at 8 pm. We have come here multiple times for family vacations, romantic getaways, and trips with friends - and we will always come back. They have exceptional customer service! We usually stay in a "ground floor" unit (level 2... #25, #23), as they have balcony access to open the gate and walk to the beach. Every condo is comfortable, clean, and inviting. They all have amazing ocean views with large windows and balconies. My only frustration is that not every unit has access to a washer and dryer, which can be challenging for longer stays or with kids. Would still highly recommend staying here!!! read more

Older complex but nice location on the beach. Not all condos are in the rental pool so check out their website to see the various units before calling for a reservation. I think unit 45 is the best since it has been updated and on the top floor (3rd level) and the owners do what they can to keep it in shape. This is a popular unit so book as far in advance as possible. We have stayed in a couple of other units over the years. One was pretty dated inside and the other had been updated a few years ago but it was showing wear and tear and it looks like the owners haven't bothered to keep it up. Again, the Cavalier website has pics of the units so you can get a feel as to what you are booking. The only downside to the Cavalier is that you can't gain access to the unit you book until 4:00 or later in the afternoon. That would be my only complaint. This complex may not be for everyone. Those who want to be in the middle of Lincoln City should look elsewhere. We like it because it is not a noisy motel/hotel. Plus, we like having a full kitchen since we don't want to eat every meal out. However, there are great restaurants nearby like The Side Door in Gleneden Beach which is about 2 miles away. read more

The units are owned individually, so some are remodeled and updated and better stocked than others, but all are clean and spacious. Simon actually suggested a different unit than the one I reserved when we stayed in September-thanks Simon! Staff is very helpful and allowed an early check in and gave us a free night last weekend. The places are well cared for, the views are absolutely right on the beach, the staircase down to the beach is safe and sturdy, the people who run it are welcoming and accommodating ... I just can't say enough good things about it. Winter, spring, summer, fall ... the Oregon coast is a beautiful in every season and this place is a relaxed, easy, and very comfortable place to stay just north of Depot Bay. read more

Perfect for a family or even a couple for a long stay. They have an indoor pool & rev room for ping pong, billiards, games etc. there is a fireplace & mini kitchen in the rec room. I have to say, given how angry I was, they were amazingly understanding and SO FAR it appears resolved. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WARNING! Do NO trust these folks. I had a reservation with them for 8 months. Just summarily canceled, no other availability. Ruined vacation. There's NO point in taking reservations if you're just going to cancel it at whim. Will NEVER stay there or recommend ever. These are quality condos for the money! All the condos have great ocean views and easy access to the beach. The one we stayed in this time had a newly remodeled kitchen and main bathroom with spacious shower. (Ask for a remodeled or updated one.) Also wide ranging direct tv channel availability in living room and bedrooms. Service is very good, thank you Simon, and rooms have availability of minimum four (adult condos), and some up to eight for families with children. We stay 2-4 times a year and have been doing so for many years. We'd love to see a hot tub added to pool area, and you might want to bring your own (sharp) kitchen knives and some spices.) read more

I agree with the other review on here about the check in time. They are very strict about the 4pm check in time. When you're bringing supplies for a two/three day trip and you need to load them all into the (nicely furnished condo) it can be a pain doing it that late in the day. Coming from the city, it can feel like a wasted day. Otherwise, the condos we've stayed in have been in great shape. The beach access is fabulous. The indoor pool area is lovely. They even have a game parlor with a pool table, fireplace, etc. The views from the condos are wonderful and having two bedrooms/two baths/a full kitchen and dining room/movies and books/and most of the comforts of home are a slice of heaven. For a two bed two bath place that is oceanfront, this is a good value, about 8-10 miles south of Lincoln City, but very close to a Thriftway for supplies. read more
