I liked how they offered lots of little branded aneminites such as shower packs, kitchen packs and hot tub cleaner. The only thing that I didn't care for was the very strict check in/check out times. Check in is at 4 and you get access by text only. Check out is promptly 10 AM! That seems extremely early especially for the prices you are paying. I asked for either an early check in or late check out and was denied which is fine but if checkout were a little later it would've been extremely helpful.

Unacceptable property conditions. Even worse customer service…read more We rented a vacation home managed by Meredith Lodging on the Oregon Coast, and the experience was appalling. Upon arrival, we found pet stains, a strong urine odor, feces on the wall, and exposed carpet tack strips--a serious safety hazard, especially with a young child in the home. This wasn't a matter of personal preference. The property was filthy and unsafe. We contacted Meredith Lodging immediately. They didn't respond until the following day. Their after-hours support consisted of an overseas call center that was unable to resolve the situation. They eventually relocated us to another property, but insisted we pay for the replacement before receiving a refund for the unused nights at the original property. They also refused to refund the night we were forced to spend in those conditions, a situation that could have been avoided with competent after-hours customer service. Despite saying they have this, you get deflected to an out-of-country call center who can only tell you that someone will call you back after 9am the next day. And unbelievably, they even tried to charge us a *cleaning fee* for the filthy property they had rented to us. You can't make this stuff up. The next property was cleaner, but also had a bad knob on the stove that leaked gas. Again, safety is a low priority for these folks. Here's the thing: Problems happen. What separates a reputable company from a bad one is how they handle those problems. Meredith Lodging had every opportunity to acknowledge the situation, take responsibility, and make things right. Instead, they demonstrated a stunning lack of accountability and customer care. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable. Just a clean, safe property and fair treatment when they failed to provide one. If you're a TRAVELER, I'd strongly caution you against booking with Meredith Lodging. And if you're a property OWNER considering hiring them to manage your investment, I'd think twice. If this is how they maintain properties, handle guest safety concerns, and treat paying customers, I'd have serious questions about entrusting them with my home. A company's reputation isn't built when everything goes right. It's built by how they respond when things go wrong. Meredith Lodging failed spectacularly.

They went out of their way when year when a storm the night before we were to arrive did damage to the home we had rented in Roads End. We were first alerted to this event when we landed in Portland and my wife turned her phone on. It was stated it needed to be a 2 night minimum stay she had some time at the end of July which is when we always go on vacation so I picked 4 nights. After I was not charged the entire amount to secure the rental even though I had been given a reservation confirmation I contacted Karen to ask if it was really rented since only half of what was supposed to come out of my account came out. She related to me she had not yet charged me because she didn't like the amount of nights I chose. The Four nights I chose left one night before I came in open and not being used because the people before me using the rental and when we come in wanting to use the rental would have left a day in between. She then proceeded to ask me to either shorten my once a year anniversary trip or pay her for another night stay. I told her we only had our trip scheduled for 4 nights and I was not willing to shorten my once-a-year vacation trip so that she could rent it for 2 days to somebody else and that I didn't feel I needed to pay an extra $225 for an extra night so that she could get her money for that one night. It was a two-night minimum with no rules about how many nights we were supposed to be staying other than a two-night minimum. Since I refused to pay her an extra night stay so she could recoup that one missing date in July or shorten my trip so she could have someone else stay there for 2 days she canceled my trip. Vbro has already taken half of the original amount that was due in order to secure that condo. She told me it would take vbro up to 14 days to refund me that money so now I have to wait for that money to return to my account so I can use it along with the rest of the money I had set aside in order to secure a different condo. It's completely unbelievably unprofessional to contact a renter and ask them to move their vacation around and possibly pay more money so that you don't lose out on money. It's tacky and disgusting. 4 nights is plenty for someone to be paying $225 a night it's not the renters responsibility to make sure every night in the month is accounted for. If you run a business renting out Condominiums you need to understand that there are going to be some times where you don't have a renter in that spot and it is not other renters responsibility to put money in your pocket for days that are not used. She didn't even offer to work with me offer 50% off the night if I took an extra night nothing. I don't understand how it's a renters responsibility when they are way over the 2 night minimum stay to cover any extra nights here and there that aren't being used up by other people who already reserved their vacations as well.

I have even rented a few of their other properties. I will NEVER rent from this property management company again due to how rudely we were treated when we stayed in July of 2022. We were yelled at because we plugged in our electric vehicle. There is NOTHING in the rules that stated this was not allowed. The woman could have just told me it wasn't allowed and then asked me to unplug it but she just berated me as if I were a child. I own an airbnb home and I would NEVER speak to a guest the way that this woman (Brook, I think) spoke to me. If you are looking for a pristine place, don't consider renting from Grey Fox. The units are far from clean and we always plan on doing a thorough cleaning when we arrive because we enjoy a place with a great view and can sacrifice having a spotless place. There is always dust and cobwebs in the corners and the window sills must never get cleaned. For my birthday this year, we opted to rent from a wonderful property management company in Netarts and we were blown away with how professional and kind their staff were and the place was spotless! I actually loved that my phone couldn't be called here '-) AND that they have a landline should you really need free of charge. I don't know why this little beachside gem isn't in more findable here online - but snap it up if you see it in a listing here in Oceanside! They really book it out (which tells you the cool little place to stay it is.) I am crazy about cabins and the title says it all - knotty pine walls and it has that vintage cabin feel. Pluses - well, the sunsets from here! The owners seemed to have appointed it well even providing plenty of nice seasoned wood for the fireplace, pretty much everything you'd need in kitchen and this seems like a great place for families to stay with the bunk beds for the kids. It's also pet friendly - how cool is that? But one of the biggest pluses, besides the sound of the ocean from your window and a lovely little deck full of sun on a shiny day :) are the BEDS! Oh my gosh - incredible memory foam mattress topper and really soft high count thread sheets. You don't always get that in a vacation rental. That one there earned them the 5 stars along with the most unique "Treehouse" with stunning views. We will be back!

Spent a good part of the day up there reading, with a glass of wine (Okay, a bottle. Who we kidding?). The sunset view is perfect. It sleeps 6 or more I guess. Two Queen beds, a pair of full sized bunk beds, all with real nice mattress toppers. And a super comfy couch, too. The garage is stocked with all the beach paraphernalia you could need including boogie boards, beach chairs and a coupla dozen wetsuits, including YOUR size! The beach is an easy two or three block walk (walking back is uphill). It's GameNight ready. Dozens of games await (Scrabble, Risk, Cards Against Humanity, puzzles, etc). Oceanside is a quiet little town (village? burg?) The Blue Agate (for breakfast and Rosanna's for lunch and dinner are both within walking distance and both real good. Looks like it tends to be booked pretty solid, but if you can squeeze in a couple of days during the week, more power to you.

We especially appreciated having a full kitchen that allowed us to prepare and store our meals as needed. The property is well maintained with very comfortable, modern and clean condos. The reservation and check-in/check-out process with Keystone was simple and easy. However, the experience with the property management company left a negative impression. Several basic items commonly found in comparable rentals--such as coffee, adequate soap, napkins, and other simple kitchen or bathroom essentials--were either missing or insufficient. When I reached out with constructive feedback, the responses were dismissive and at times unnecessarily argumentative. I also asked for clarification on their stated "policy" regarding consumables, but no meaningful explanation or documentation was provided. What was most disappointing was not the missing items, but the tone and lack of customer-focused service. In the hospitality industry, professionalism and responsiveness matter. Unfortunately, that was lacking here. While the unit itself was good, we would not choose to book through this management company again.

Mixed feelings. I'm…read morehandicapped and my mother is an elderly woman with a bad hip, going up the stairs was a killer. The elevator was broken. We stayed at The Brookhaven @ 105 NW 23rd Ave #104 Rockaway Beach OR, 97136 - my sister rented it out for my birthday for approx $200 a night and we stayed 2 nights. The place has great structural appeal, panoramic views from living room and dining room/kitchen. We loved the open floor plan. My sister is an Architect. A 2-bedroom 2 full bathroom setup for 7 adults and 1 dog. 1 Master bedroom with a Queen Bed which my sister and brother in law took. And 1 bedroom with 4 bunk beds with adjacent full bathroom with shower and no tub. Hubby, Mom, brother and I slept in the room of bunk beds. It was hard for mom and I to sit so low. The long hall way to the rooms looks nice, keeping the room doors closed helps to keep the heat in. So, as soon as we called Vacasa to complaint about the heater and hot water issue, they told my sister that we had to use one or the other but not both at the same time. What? Are these the early 1800's when electricity was discovered? It doesn't make sense that a $200 a night place, has an electricity box compromise in this way. The water heater turns OFF when the air heater is Turned ON to warm up the Condo. (????!!!!???) Cold showers in the winter????? Not even in a third world county's villa!!! Totally RETROGRADE. It's difficult to quickly get up in the freezing cold Condo, take a quick cold shower and get out running. And while it may not matter in the summer months, to charge the same price in the winter, is ATROCIOUS!! Fitures look nice, but found out some are just place lightly and fall apart the minute touched. I love the glass door/windows, they can be open like doors or Windows. This is a mixed feelings review, because the negative doesn't outweigh the positive. Meaning, FIX the Negative. This is a WAKE UP call for the management team to do something about it. Do you need me to supply names and #s of Electrician professionals to you, so that you can FIX this matter? I would love to stay here again, but this electrical matter needs to be FIXED and perhaps maybe the elevator too. To management: Please don't bother to respond with a Management Team pathetic email if you are not going to FIX the problem. I don't need your email. While compensation would be nice, it won't fix the problem. YOUR POCKET BOOK needs customers! So, you should think of FIXING the problem. To my Elite and non Elite Yelpers: Would you rent a place in the winter for $200 a night where the electric panel was compromise in such a way that you could ONLY use it EITHER way, to heat the water to take hot showers or to heat the air that warms up the condo?? There is no fireplace, so you depend on body heat and the air heater. So you cannot take a hot bath unless you walk outside the the jacuzzi that is located outside, 4 condos down from 104, you share with the other condos, it's 3 feet high with no handicap access. Meaning you climb in and out, no stairs, no ramp into it. Ok. I am tempted to ask the young snowboarders from next door if their runs to the jacuzzi has anything to do with the cold shower issue. We fell in love with Rockaway Beach and this area of town, so I hope this place is Fixed. Podunk style Condos - have a heater that works and hot water for all guests and all amenities that work, but perhaps not a panoramic view like this, and cost half of the price. There is no VALUE ... Cost for what you get ... when the Basics don't work. So, this place is well OVERPRICED. My friend's dad second home, a million dollars ocean front modern huge house with panoramic views, rents for $350 a night for 6 Master Bedrooms in the Shalishan lodge area, in a locked private drive. While I can't Yelp it because it doesn't rent to the public, I can tell you, it's a dream house. The Brookhaven is a gorgeous 2-bedroom Condo style townhouse, one attached to the other, stairways up to the different apartments, shared hallway entries, etc. It's a great fortress structural building, ready to take on a tsunami or a real World Z war... In comparison, the million dollar house, has more value for the money you pay. It's private, the amenities are private, and the heater and hot water work in unison. Offer and advertise awesomeness, then stick to it, and provide awesomeness. Don't freeze me in the winter, and make me take cold showers! Don't make climb up the stairs when I use a wheelchair. Fix your amenities!!! Make what you charge, a great value.
